That would be true whoever we appointed, I think the team will appreciate this - it removes uncertainty and more upheaval. I hope he stays whatever this season brings.
-
Not much wrong with the team spirit there and the players clearly love him, would anyone be disappointed if he was given the job full time?

Here are some stats for Sports Republic to digest: This season, Points per game - 0.71 Goals scored per game - 0.81 Goals conceded per game - 1.81 We are on target for 27 points this season. ...and they talk of us being in the top ten regularly? How about showing some real leadership !
-
On current form Saints are conceding twice as many goals as they are scoring and the points per game at the moment suggest we might get to 27 points by the end of the season. Wolves have just put three past Liverpool so it seems unlikely that we will win. The only glimmer of hope is that we have a slightly easier run in than some of our relegation rivals but unless there is a fundamental change to the way we play there is only one likely outcome this season.

"Southampton have conceded 53 goals in their past 27 Premier League matches, keeping just one clean sheet in that time." If this doesn't change right now we are doomed whoever is in charge.

Wow! I turned the radio off a few minutes ago in despair - I think it had better stay off! -
Yes I have had enough too, Lord Reith must be turning in his grave. I shall be relying on the internet for my impartial and accurate information from now on. I hope no one was standing underneath your window!

A Danny Ings hat-trick would be great!

Boy, do I miss watching him play - it's just good that he's still talking Saints and football, just like here it is always interesting. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2020/feb/03/matt-le-tissier-southampton-players-let-club-down-interview-9-0

Robbie Savage is the Katie Hopkins of football pundits - he craves attention and a response - and his mum has a better insight into the game!

"Southampton have won eight of their 18 Premier League games under Ralph Hassenhuttl, as many as they had won in 52 games under their two previous permanent managers combined" Says it all, really.

He comes across pretty well here, I think. Let's hope he shows some of that steely determination tomorrow. http://www.theguardian.com/football/2019/feb/23/nathan-redmond-southampton-learning-curve-england

RH: "We don't lose a game, we either win or learn. Today we learned." It's going to take a while!

From the BBC match thread ... "Encouraging, in spells, from Southampton, but I make that 12 points they have now dropped from winning positions in the Premier League this season. Would be in the top half if they'd held on to those..." Could today be a turning point? I guess we'll know after the Cardiff game.

Paul Mitchell set for Saints return...

Mitchell and Webb more likely from the tone of that speculative piece! -
Let' s see how Sparky does now without Les's shadow looming over him - it's going to be all down to him, for now at least.
