Where do you go in Bedford? The Alameda in Ampthill is ok.

In a free market economy can you really cap wages? Wouldn't they just find a way round that as with bonuses etc... I saw Steve Perryman in a stage show with Jimmy Greaves a couple of years ago and they absolutely panned Sugar's business approach to Spurs. However, there have been many cases of financial trouble at clubs, but seemingly a supply of people willing to lend money to clubs, so is the madness just in football?

Jaipur in Milton Keynes (if you're up that way) http://www.jaipur.co.uk/index2.html

It could have changed from 85 mins, thought their freekick was going in. I thought the traffic was lighter yesterday and didn't get stuck at all. The halftime entertainment was good to watch.

My sister made a 'cheque book' for my nieces birthday. All the cheques were experiences to cash in over the next 12 months. They were things like go to pictures with dad, family meal, girlie day with mum, ironing done by dad for a week, trip to St, Mary's (I just made that up)....think you get the get the picture. It spread the cost of expensive items but some included no money at all and could be tailored to what she likes etc. Also, some of her friends and extended family might like to add something to it. Hope this helps.

http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?26574-Amsterdam Amsterdam saints advice was sound. I think Dubai Phil has suggested the best area (my limited experience) and worth seeing who is playing at the paradisio. Enjoy it, fab city.

Hi all, there is much more to Amsterdam than the drugs and red light area but it is well worth visiting them. I guess it depends on what your interests are. We really enjoyed the museums (although not 'arty' people) along with the diamonds. Mixed feelings on the Anne Frank museum, having read the book it was interesting to see the dimensions of the house etc but I'm not sure whether the presentation is quite right, a difficult subject to present in the right context etc. We all wanted to go on a boat tour but ran out of time. Having done guided tours elsewhere there are benefits to them. Plenty of of shops and a good market on saturday. Some nice bars and a comedy store with open mic. Supermikey, there is something for everyone and yes you'll need some extra cash.

Hi Amsterdam, our flights were delayed by a couple of hours on the way back due to the weather. We had a truly great time and all of us fell in love with Amsterdam. I think we will come back either next year or the year after, but we were planning on doing both New York and Paris next year. Loved the architecture, canals, trams, cycling culture and ofcourse the people. The area we stayed in was really pretty and we found a great place for apple pie and coffee. We didn't have a bad meal whilst we were there, majestic in Dam square did really good fish and burgers. Did the museum district and Anne Franks house. Enjoyed the bars around Hard Rock (can't remember what the area is called) and had a little visit to the Grasshopper to warm up. Thanks for your help, I hope you enjoy living there as much as we did visiting.

Yes thanks Amsterdam, anything evening wise really. I have a feeling Plan b is playing this weekend, but will check that out. A comedy club or live band would be great. Flying Thursday morning, so starting to get ready now....

Thanks for the hints. We are staying in the Bilderberg Garden hotel, so not right in the centre I believe. We fancy taking in a show of sorts.....

Hi all, going to Amsterdam for a few days with friends (couples). Suggestions for places to visit, cafes etc would be much appreciated.

I feel a little bit ripped off tbh, I liked the game but felt I'd only just got into it before it was all over....... (ooh nurse). Will get black ops and FM2011 for my laptop. My son just got the new fallout and really likes that, but I just don't get enough time to play that.

Alpine, you should see the amount of conspiracy theories at play on this issue at abovetopsecret.com I have some BP shares but don't know how they will perform in the future, my guess is that the arab deal will go through, Obama has more saber rattling to do to appease voters and BP will make money again in the next few years

This years bargains seem to be in Turkey and Egypt.

Rick Stein Anthiny Bourdain makes a good tv show

Yes, but as mentioned it is about where you live and how the local environment is suited to it. We live in a village and the traffic is lowish, the middle school runs cycling proficiency classes. Saying that lots of kids ride on the path, but that's probably the safest place.

Cheers guys, not overly worried about price and want to be close enough to walk around the city. We've been wanting to go for a few years and now the kids are a bit older we get some freedom back, so we want to get it right.

Hi all, a group of us are going to Amsterdam later in the year. Can anyone point me in the direction of good hotels, places to eat, bars and clubs and places not to miss..... Thanks

Saw him at Northampton away, and he did look good against them.

I like the Bilbao one, it looks like it may suit someone who isn't built like a pro footballer

Just catching up after my hols, but like this alot.

Just bought and watched 2 films for my ipod when on hols. Shifty and Harry Brown, both worth a watch. Harry Brown not as good as Gran Torino IMHO.

This is gonna be unpopular, but I don't post much anyhow. I think the system is to blame rather than the individual. Just because they don't want to work as it doesn't pay doesn't make them wrong. If the system allows that, then surely that is to question rather than their lifestyle choice. I agree with other posts showing there are far bigger financial problems with the system. Maybe it is the hard working people living on the breadline who have it wrong.
