He looked really good when he first joined, at a time when Davis was poor. But from what i've seen of him it has been all downhill since.
-
I think Dyer looks superb. Pacy, willing to run at players. What a shame we've not had chance to see more of him here.
-
Unfortunately I don't think it matters what team we play. This result could be our Hull City type result from last season. Of course, I hope its a Wolverhampton Wanderers result like a few years ago when we went up there with an under strength team and thrashed them 6-0
-
The other teams that were around us have started to improve. There was always that risk. We need to start a run of our own... trouble is we've got bloody hard teams coming up. Still, it went down to the last day last season. This could be the same!
-
Under Poortvliet I think we'd be 0 points in 3 games. So it is an improvement. I think we've played better against Swansea and Sheff Utd than previous home games under Poortvliet. Unfortunatly its too little too late.

No. That was Jimmy Glass.

I'm surprised no-one has posted yet: is he any good on Football Manager?
-
Didn't the club tell him to go, or not play. Then turn around shortly afterward and ask him to play? Sounds like they've been trying to unsettle him, he probably didn't know if he was coming or going. Ok, so he wanted away last January.. but wasn't that the club messing him about again? i can't remember the circumstances.
-
He deserves an apology from the club. I hope his heart will be in it..
-
Good piece from ITV I reckon.
-
I thought McLaggon looked a bit lazy. I guess he doesn't have experience, but he just stood up front and waited for the ball to come to him. He didn't provide much of an outlet.
-
It's not over till it's over. We took it to the last day last year, we might do it again this year.
-
I dunno why we don't play him up front. He is a striker not a winger. He scored twice against Reading away playing up front, didn't he?
-
Dyer looked awesome on the highlights. Were they playing him up front? Why does he always look lightweight for us yet looked strong and quick for them? We need him! Love the goal. Made my weekend!
-
It is odd that Davis didn't feature... maybe we were seeing if Forecast is actually any good before deciding whether to sell Davis?
-
Swansea fans rate him I think. Just needs someone to believe in him. Go Nathan!
-
Whitey: I am inclined to agree. It is already too late now.. even with a new manager I just can't see us picking up the points. We've wasted too many of the "easy" games and lost two major home games against people we should have beaten. We don't deserve to stay up on that showing.
-
Looks a definate improvement over Lancashire. But why we switched to a back three during the Doncaster game I will never know. I didn't understand it, and by the looks on their faces i'd say the players didn't either. Clueless tactician.
-
The midfield in general was a joke. A left midfielder on the right side, a striker playing on the left. Schneiderlin is over rated and very poor, Surman is also guilty of misplacing a lot of passes. Attacking teams just go straight through us because neither stand up to them.
-
Yep. It was clear they were as confused as the rest of us. How can they have faith in Jan now?
-
£15 million? He is improving. But I think that's a bit over the top. heh
-
I always thought Euell was a striker, but then he came and played in midfield. As far as I am concerned we'd do well to put him up front, since we are paying him that much. Why not play him? Who is going to want a player who isn't even playing?
-
McGoldrick is a waster. I have in my head a particular chance, can't remember who against, but he was cutting in from the right with only the keeper to beat and he tried to lob it into the far post (a little like Robertsons goal for us) and it inevitably sailed over. When it surely would have been better to just slide it past the keeper... Very frustrating player.

Doncaster_ Most important game of season?
BotleySaint replied to thorpie the sinner's topic in The Saints
The must win home game against Forest turned out awful for us. The difference this time is we are going into the game on a win and we have a couple of more experienced players in the team including a couple of defenders. On paper we should beat them. Let us hope that Jan can motivate the players unlike last time. (Though didn't that match follow the team Christmas party in Ireland?) -
You are correct
