  1. From the response (but no realise answer to my query) it appears that COT did not want to confirm or deny the answer to your clue to protect their sources
  2. Oh well you are obviously not going to answer my simple question are you a politician ? πŸ˜‡
  3. I just cannot understand how they can "protect their sources" by giving out cryptic clues which are solvable by persons cleverer than me. I am sure Turkish and the other COT members have a simple answer and I am a bit surprised they have not clambered to explain. I could go around in circles regarding trust but the simple answer is surely there and I welcome it. They must all have been busy with their sources for the last 23hrs.
  4. Sorry to be difficult Turkish but if the COT is to be respected surely you could answer my query?
  5. Watching KWP yesterday, after the game, was I the only one who thought he was waving goodbye? He went further around the pitch than anyone else clapping all the fans and made a point of handing his shirt to a fan near the halfway line. I got the feeling that a move in this window is in the offing. Although I would hate to lose him I cannot not see him staying after the end of the season so wouldn't getting some money for him now make good sense for the club?
  6. However you did not answer my query. If people answer the clues correctly surely the name, you will not post directly, is in the public domain? So that would not protect the source which your cryptic clues are supposed to? You know loose lips sinks ships so how does that work when, although posted cryptically, you are putting the name subject etc. in the public domain?
  7. Just a query ? Regarding the disclosure of the sources I do not understand how it differentiates between coming straight out with the player's name, information etc. or a cryptic clue that people solve and put the name out there anyway? If the cryptic clue is too hard so the information, player etc. cannot be identified until after an official announcement, that could lead to people thinking that the explanation of the cryptic clue is adaptable and then adjusted to the name. Must be a hard job being in the know.
  8. With the take over at Everton completed I wouldn't be surprised to see them sack Dyche and take Moyes back. I cannot see him coming to us.
  9. This is what the Echo said about Rusk - "Quick attacking would be a change if he can pull it off Rusk's under-21s like to get to retain possession but aim to get the ball forward quickly. They often attempt balls in behind for their pacy forwards or ask them to drive with the ball. Speaking to the Daily Echo earlier this season, Rusk explained: β€œQuick attacking on the turnover is a big part of the modern game. "We want to dominate possession but we also want to dominate on transitions.”
  10. I am a bit miffed at the posters defending the ref. Ok he may have made reasonable decisions and booked 4 of our players in the first half however he seemed to miss the 3 or 4 occasions when Leicester players went through ours to get the ball that used to be a foul? Also it was interesting to see Leicester take about 3 minutes over a free kick when they were obviously waiting for the injured player to get back on and they were not rushed or yellow carded (as Sugarwara was). There were other times the trainer/medical staff came on and only 2 minutes extra time. Some may say that at 2 nil up the officials did not want us to get another goal before half time but played at the end until Leicester scored. I have been a season ticket holder (job permitting) for over 60 years and this referee is the worst I have ever seen. Some people may say we whinge because we lost but even at 2 nil up at half time I was sharing his incompetence with my son who totally agreed. I am afraid Martin thought he could succeed at what Kompany failed to do and if we have any chance of staying up we need a new manager with more than one dimension and some idea about substitutions. I did not like the way Lallana left but I think he could have steadied the ship and was bewildered that he stayed on the bench.
  11. Just got home I hate Vardy he changed the game when he took out Sugawara and then we had the incompetent substitutions we are all used to. I cannot talk about the referee he was absolutely atrocious I wouldn't be surprised in years to come to hear that some referees were bought by some clubs. They should have had just a many yellows as us but he seemed to think that a Leicester playing going through the back of a player to get the ball was ok. They waste about three minutes over a free kick when they had a player injured off the pitch and no cards, then we get a card for a delay over a throw in. (Surely he has seen that we have no clue about throw ins 😁) The only way we are staying up is the bring someone in like Graham Potter and do it quick.
  12. Sky Sports reporting Cornet deal is done
  13. I'd welcome JWP back as he always played best when further forward and a scored a few goals especially from free kicks. His goal contribution may be a great bonus at the end of the season.
  14. Probably something to do with us being the first team Newcastle play when the season starts and he doesn't want to be shown up. The transfer window will be still open after.
  15. Yes do not forget we are not Man City πŸ˜ƒ
  16. I got hold of the Daily Echo newspaper before my dad came home from work and in the stop press it said "Kevin Keegan signs for Saints" . My dad arrived shortly after and I asked him what did Southampton want with an old goalkeeper? (Kevin Keelan being a goalkeeper from Norwich at the time). We dismissed it as a spelling mistake as it was so unbelievable and were then stunned when BBC news reported it.
  17. I really hope it's JWP he has some unfinished free-kick business here and a great engine. I know some do not appreciate him but playing him further forward like one or two managers and he is class.
  18. Wasn't this made up and put on here earlier by someone waiting to see when the press would pick it up?
  19. The fees are ridiculous but surprised Sky couldn't do better than a deflected shot for a goal?
  20. Certainly would not want him as a player as he is too old. Would Russell Martin want him as a coach ? does he know him ? I think he could fit in as a relief coach driver as 14 games is too much for him.
  21. Thanks for telling this 69 year old with metal knees NOW that there was a lift to get into the gods πŸ˜‡. We had a great time, great atmosphere and support but was very concerned when my younger mate had 6 heart attacks in the last twenty minutes and then his apple watch said it was too noisy !!!! πŸ˜‡. Bit late to bed this morning but thanks to all the Saints staff and players for a great day and getting us back into the Premier League. Frannie Benali reaction sums it up for me what a great family club we are loved by many ex players as well.
  22. Does that mean you agree with the behaviour of the people who went on the pitch against the requests, law breaking and severely damaging the clubs reputation? Also probably incurring fines taking away money the club could put towards the team? (Even Leeds fans are able to take the high ground after the antics of the minority) I am not sure whether you were at the game but morons may be slightly more polite than the the chanting of "w@nkers" that a large proportion of the crowd still in the stands were singing. I am not here to lecture you at all just expressing my disappointment that after a great night I had to leave feeling, like a lot of others I spoke to, rather down that we were not able to clap/cheer the team as we would with any other win. Sadly for you, you are not likely to be invited to any dinner parties I attend πŸ˜€
  23. Totally agree it was an awesome night, great result, great atmosphere and then spoilt by morons. Then some posters on here even condone the behaviour it is mind boggling that you set that example for kids. Personally it spoilt our night not being able to clap the team on the pitch after that performance. Also if you thought it was good and harmless look at all the bad press, possible club fines and subsequent bad reputation of the supporters from the actions of muppets. Well done to those that allowed/encouraged their kids to go on the pitch and BREAK THE LAW fine example of what is wrong with society today
  24. I am looking for a ticket for my son (25) who was due to be working but can now get the time off. Anywhere in the ground if anyone has one to sell please PM me or I can post contact details. TIA
  25. I would like to see Mara given more playing time as I think he will come good but Brooks is a great signing πŸ‘
