  1. I was referring to the game v Arsenal in which he played ok...and he was never brilliant for us..
  2. What game were you watching..he played ok, does the simple things well but Cork would have made no difference to our recent results...we just have too many players off form
  3. Tend to agree...we were totally devoid of ideas in the final third..Elia is a waste of time, Mane falls over at will and Pelle looked disinterested. Still, found a nice pub - Cow and Plough - so it was not all bad.
  4. Nobody is writing them off, but now we are a top six club so any youth player has to have the potential to be a top player. Agree, Hesketh has lots of ability but is not ready for the physicality of the EPL
  5. There's no argument against fielding one youth player and having couple on the bench.. but our current crop are not that good.. hence the reason Koeman has not trusted them this year. So, don't suddenly think he's going to change just because we are in the Europa League. Maybe mute point as I fancy Aston Villa for the Cup and we have not played well recently.. so Europe is a hope rather than an expectancy.
  6. If you think we would beat teams in the Europa league with 5/6 academy graduates you seriously underestimate the local dog and duck.
  7. Unfortunately having TV reviews during the game does not mean the correct decision will be the conclusion. The JWP incident is a classic case; the pundits were split as to whether it was a penalty, let alone a red card. So, what do we think would have resulted from the 4th Official ?.. just another level of review which the pundits will discuss; not unlike the 3rd official in Cricket. The only scenarios which would benefit are decisions which are black and white in terms of being right or wrong; e.g. Offside.
  8. Possibly both, has a nice range of passes but not quick enough up top to execute when put under pressure
  9. Not good enough..gets caught in possession too often
  10. Not convinced a CL will bid...he could be here next year as Liverpool/Spurs are not really furthering his career, just lining his pocket.
  11. Bertrand has been class all season...close call for Fonte and Schneiderlin but playing in the best team helps.
  12. Davis played ok, except for missing 2gilt-edged chances...still light years better than JWP who was a passenger.
  13. Except the players are all from AVB's reign..MP will get his own players in and then they will improve.
  14. totally agree... Hesketh does look as if he will be some player.. but needs to beef up as his playing style attracts fouls and he was injured in his only premier outing I think ?
  15. Disagree, Everton shut the game down.. And we have no divine right to beat them. Their first eleven is as good if not better than ours, in a totally false position.
  16. The key decision was having Mane on the bench...if he was fit, then it's a basic error from Koeman...he's the one player we have who can unlock defences. A front four of Pelle, Long, Elia and Ward-Prowse is unlikely to frighten anyone.

    JWP

It's clear that JWP is an intelligent footballer who sees a pass... Unfortunately his lack of pace and physicality may inhibit his progress into a top player. He was very good for the U21s recently but the EPL is far more aggressive and time on the ball at a premium. As for senior squad selection, nothing surprises me with Hodgson at the helm.
  18. Elia maybe in to stop Coleman's attacking threat
  19. Good game...Ipswich a typical McCarthy team and Bournemouth cultured football great to watch
  20. Sorry, but we don't have enough goalscorers to play a striker who just creates space. He had two great opportunities yesterday and unfortunately is not of high enough quality to convert them.
  21. A touch harsh, but there were times today when he was frustrating to say the least. The fact that he prefers assists to goals means his first instinct is to pass when he has a great shooting opportunity.
  22. We are truly a top six team.. Mane and Schneiderlin immense and Forster a brick wall.
  23. Looks ominous for Sunday listening to Mourinho.. some achievement if we get a result now.
  24. So the Premier League is poor then... PSG have better technical players than Chelsea, especially in midfield. For sure, Schneiderlin would never get in their team; Cabaye is on the bench and he's different class.
  25. I hope not... has done nothing to warrant any interest from us.
