Then go and support West Ham.. please apply a little intelligence to your posts going forwards

Difficult to maintain objectivity when all this ranting is going on. Bottom line is it looks like NA/MP think the squad is good enough to maintain Premier League status. Personally, I think our best 11 can survive but squad-wise we are short of options from the bench to change a game. We will see come May.

Some sense at last... starting with the team that played Chelsea is a recipe for disaster. It did not work as Chelsea should have been out of sight by the time Lambert arrived... we were lucky.
-
To suggest any player does not fit a certain formation is nonsense.. especially lambert who is a class above anyone else in the current squad. Portuchino ( or whatever his name is) needs to bring in some special additions before we can consider leaving Lambert out. The 11 put out for the 1st half against Chelsea highlighted that perfectly, in fact, I can't think of any game this season where we have looked a team with Lambert on the bench.

We - covers the posters on here with half a brain - obviously you have'nt. All we get from the Turk is boasts about his foresight about the way things happen at SFC - whereas he really does not ahve a clue.. and its dreadfully boring. Still, he's still alive so have to put up with it..

You are like a spoilt little brat...memememe... as if we care.

What good would getting Cortese out do...nothing.. he has instigated the next phase of his objective of making Southampton a top EPL side.. highly rated young coach with similar objectives.
-
I think you are just a wind up merchant.. Lamber ton the bench.. u really don't understand football do you

Squad player at best, but will not be part of the Southampton plans for future. Gives the ball away needlessly (as per last nights 1st goal). powder puff in the tackle, and has little pace. Chaplow is a far better squad option.

Chelsea 2 Saints 2 - Post Match Celebrations & MotM
SaintSteve replied to St Chalet's topic in The Saints
Yes.. I do love these comments about stunning management after the result... the truth is that we put out the wrong team in the first place. 1st half was similar to Liverpool game where we gave the opposition too much respect, with no outlet up front. The game could have been out of sight and then I doubt we would have had 'stunning management' comments. Its all so easy after the event. Lambert has to play from the start, he's not using a walking stick so I think 90 minutes is just about within his capability.. everything changed when he came on and he would have been unplayable from the 1st minute. -

Fantastic 2nd half... great streaming picture... just shows if we put our best team on the pitch we can match anyone... also thougth Chaplow did ok and gives another option going forwards. -
Well what a surprise.. when will NA learn that we cannot put out a team to stop opposition from playing. We have to attack and to do that we have to play lambert. Guly has been anonymous so w eahve no-one with the skill to put Rodriques through 1 on 1 which is the only way we will score with this shambolic set up.

Is it okay for Saints players to dive and cheat?
SaintSteve replied to the stain's topic in The Saints
What a lot of drivel you talk... how do you know J-Rod dived.. have you spoken to him and he's admiited i ? No, in fact he denied it and was not even claiming a fould had been committed. He lost his balance when trying to avoid having his ankle damaged. -

You stick to your opinion.. but there is nothing conclusive in the replays to show that he dived, OR he slipped trying to avoid studs contacting his ankle.. I did not see too many claims either. -

I think Lambert's comment was most accurate; the defender went to ground with a reckless attempt to get the ball.. J-Rod reacted to seeing it coming and lost his foothold. Sh*t happens.. the ref made a mistake. -
J-Rod "frustrated" at first team chances.
SaintSteve replied to KelvinsRightGlove's topic in The Saints
Yet to be convinced J_Rod is Premiership quality.. needs to get more involved in the game to warrant selection on a regular basis. -

The problem the OP has is that he is trying to link a formation to Lambert's effectiveness. 4-4-2, 4-2-3-1.. Football is not played to rigid formations. The FACT is that without Lambert we are totally devoid of ideas... worrying given he's 31 but true nevertheless. Think of his ball control, vision, passing ability and awareness, not the fact that he lacks pace. Sheringham lacked pace and Lambert is on that level.
-
I think you are overstating Chelsea supremacy. With the MLG 4 chnages we would have had Cork to stifle their movement, Clyne's pace and most of all Lambert to hold the ball up so it did not keep coming back. We will lose to most teams with the 11 we put out in the Cup game, powder puff in midfield and a striker that is not strong enough to keep the ball.
-
Thankfully you are in the minority... how do you know Lambert wants to play in a 4231 formation ? We are a team fighting for survival and are lucky to have Lambert still here as it is. You obviously cannot go to watch Saints OR you know nothing about football.
-
Absolutely, unless NA wants out, cos it would mean certain relegation. Sounds like a wind up by a bored cabby.

Saints vs Chelsea Match & Reactions Thread
SaintSteve replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Well, I've backed Guly on numerous occasions, but today, he was truly woeful.. but its Chelsea nad we can write off games against their best side. Just move on.. -
Agreed, I think people should be given an IQ test before being allowed to post on here.. some of these posts are moronic to say the least. Ramirez actually limped off when replaced at Fulham so suspect its better to only play him if we are desparate second half.
-
Slightly biased viewpoint.. the Riise tackle could have seen a Red card for Ramirez as he was the one with the studs in the air and could have been seen as a stamp. Berbatov was however lucky not to see a 2nd yellow.
