Definitely not happy with 0-0.. we need to start creating clear cut chances and putting them away.. lets go for score draw or away win.

Post Match Reaction: SAINTS 0-0 West Ham
SaintSteve replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
I think we should be happy we don't have to watch WH every week...anyway, the only way today could have been watchable is if Osvaldo had put away the early chance.. lallana/Rodrigues could also have scored but their ball control was abysmal; lessons from lambert required. MP has yet to gel the new players into the team, but that takes time.. and we still need Ramirez on the pitch to open up tired defences. -
Transfer deadline day thread (Summer 2013)
SaintSteve replied to Ivan Katalinic's 'tache's topic in The Saints
Agreed.. MP just needs to establish a way of creating numerous clear cut chances from the possession we enjoy; as so far in the 3 games to date this is not happening. -
Ramirez has the potential to become World Class given time.. lallana will never get in that category. I think the initial outlay of 12M has given people the idea that he should be world class already.. think 35M for Carroll and then re-evaluate
-
Couldn't agree more.. stronger, will score more goals and has a killer pass.. this season is make or break for lallana in terms of EPL material.
-
Thats how I see it.. in fact, if we sign a European top class striker, he may not even get the chance and be a squad player this year.

Andy Carroll pulls out of squad.. Lambert in?
SaintSteve replied to bowers-sfc's topic in The Saints
He's been carrying an injury for a month, little training.. Not out-of-form at all. -
Yes, we play far better football under MP.. we keep the ball better.. and next season we will see more improvement with an influx of technical ball players.

What an interesting summer we are in for...
SaintSteve replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
Well, its obvious we are not at the level of Swansea/West Brom as yet... Saturday was men against boys. We need at least a CB with pace, Left Back to challenge Shaw, a defensive midfielder to challenge Schneiderlin/Cork, and a pacey wide player (maybe Lopez) if we are to progress the rate Cortese demands. -
There are many on here that are looking through Red/White tinted spectacles. Morgan has a long way to go to match Carrick's career in the EPL and he is not our best player.. he's had a good spell but is not irreplacable.
-
MP is not an 'unknown foreigner' unless ur talking about your lack of knowledge. He was seen as the most up and coming European coach - we are lucky to have him.
-
This.. he is still way head of any other England Defender
-
You live in the past, football is progressing to allow for flair players, not people who spend half the season banned.. Where have you been.. Still watching tapes of Bremner and smith are we ?
-
Totally agree.. They just post to promote controversy. In terms of rating Ramirez, it's fairly clear he is a class youngster learning to play in the PL. if flair players upset the morons then perhaps a dose of watching Stoke or West ham will bring them to their senses.

After 8 games, what are your thoughts...
SaintSteve replied to Dibden Purlieu Saint's topic in The Saints
Have you watched us under MP ? - we are playing far better football, the results will improve. Many of our players are better under MP.. e.g. Schneiderlin, Rodriques.. for next season MP will bring in players more adept to his style and we will go onwards and upwards... there you are.. a positive outlook. -
Agree with OP.. if Wigan win against Newcastle/Norwich in their next two games.. quite possible.. then we have up to Stoke involved in the relegation scrap.. IMHO
-
Lambert is the only player who maybe considered for an England place.. Cork is a good premiership player, not international class.. although its difficult to define, given the sparcity of England players that are.
-
He warrants his place as he's our best player... or do you not understand football
-
What an immature statement.. he's not appeared in the premier league and certainly did ok last year. Obviously the NA regime did not think he was up to it but MP has him on the bench so all is not lost
-
Yes, just about sums it up.. still, we can always dip into Turkish's pockets which are well lined apparently
-
this is hilarious... a Redknapp hater in numbers.. I think you need to re-visit the 22/25/27 estimates
-
Its a no-brainer.. he's top class and like a new signing without an initial outlay
-
Cork - Schneiderlin partnership, changed under Pocchetino?
SaintSteve replied to Neef's topic in The Saints
Yes, there is already an increased pressure further up the pitch, especially from Cork/Schneiderlin, and we are hunting in packs to retrieve the ball.. as per a lot of Spanish teams. I thought Cork was MOTM saturday, with Schneiderlin just behind. -
Irrespective, our best central defence performances have been with Fonte/Yoshida playing.. more concerned about Fonte likely return
