Beaten by the better team, organised by a better coach.
-
5pts from remaining 7 games..Palace win, Fulham draw and Leeds draw.
-
No he didn’t..Which it’s exactly why it’s disallowed. Unfortunately the Tella incident wasn’t a penalty either
-
We’ve just shipped 18 goals in five games..if he’s not playing Thursday it says little about our due diligence before signing him. What’s more, Ralph’s priority will be the league so if he plays to the expected level he’ll be in Sunday as well.
-
I see the way forward slightly differently..play a standard back four with two sitting midfielders to protect the back four and that leaves four offensive players, namely, Armstrong, Redmond, Djenepo and Ings. I think we’ll beat most lower table teams with that combo, it’s just choosing the two CBs and sticking with them until a greater understanding prevails.
-
Yes we do need VAR, decisions made from outside as in Rugby Union. However, will the top clubs accept the change is the question. I’ve been to the last two matches and both referees sub consciously favoured the big team.
-
Agreed..but Hodgson has this habit of protecting what you’ve got and they visibly deepened on the pitch for the last 20 minutes. So, overall a draw was just about a fair result.
-
There were two Armstrong shots..the first one he curled into the corner but not enough pace to worry the goalkeepers dive. The second was late on when he half volleyed a bullet towards the corner which was luckily blocked by a diving defender. We look much better with Armstrong on the pitch, surprised Hasenhuttl waited an hour to bring him on.
-
You really don’t get it do you..we are offloading cos Hassenhütl wants a smaller squad to concentrate on and execute his playing style. None of the released players suit his style end of so keeping them will do more harm than good.
-
Exactly..on this forum we have players who are crap when we have them and yet a disastrous loss if we get rid. Just need Forster out the door And we have six less to worry about all week on the training pitch
-
You were at a different game to me then.. thought he played well and certainly not at fault for their goals..Stephens lost his man for the header which is a reoccurring fault of his. Hassenhüttl sees a lot of potential in him or he wouldn’t be continually in the squad.
-
Why not..certainly wasn’t given enough time on the pitch before.
-
It’s not how many touches that’s key.. it’s what he does with them, which is very little. He is simply does not have enough positive attributes to nail down a position in any premier league team. If he plays tonight, let’s hope he proves the doubters wrong.

Saints 1 West Ham 2 - Post Match Reality Check
SaintSteve replied to St Chalet's topic in The Saints
The stats are meaningless.. why don’t you watch the game and form an opinion based on your eyes. Targett has a great cross on him but is a liability defensively. He wonders around in a dream and is too slow for the wing back role. -
Ryan Bertrand not a fan of Mark Hughes...
SaintSteve replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
You weren’t at the game then.. ok going forwards but defensively a nightmare -
Having seen highlights, McCarthy had to come for the cross as it was in the air a long time. A rare error from the keeper.
-
Played well 1st half but reverted to type in the second. Expends more energy talking than playing.
-
That’s because Davis is light years better..JWP is simply not a premier league player
-
I think we need to win the next four..one win in twenty to four from four looks mission impossible but beat Leicester and perhaps the confidence will return then who knows.
-
Because he’s light years better than Ward-Prowse who played yesterday.
-
Ryan Bertrand - not fit to be captain, a disgrace
SaintSteve replied to davefoggy's topic in The Saints
Depends which league you want to play in..Bertrand is class and Targett is an average championship player. -
Comparing Ward-Prowse to Beckham is like comparing Redmond to Mane.. laughable
-
Only from idiots who had no idea about football..Redmond is not good enough simples.
-
Not so sure..I sit near folk who defend him to the hilt, even on Saturday. However, any coach who puts him in a position where his limitations are totally exposed needs to look In the mirror..I'm more worried about Pellegrino's thought process.
