  1. It doesn't really matter who Lambert plays for... he's pure class and a joy to watch...
  2. brings a tear to ones eye that does... for me the best all round striker to play in a Saints shirt..
  3. Sounds promising.. no more risky than MP when he took over and more experienced.. likes to play 3-5-2 apparently
  4. I renewed yesterday... may have had second thoughts had I seen the Lambert rumours coming to reality... can only say its more than just the football, a social gathering for me, it maybe my last for all the reasons you mention.
  5. Actually, he's a top class striker playing for a team that almost won the Premier League last season... from next week. Its frightening how many posters like you don't understand the overall contribution Lambert brings to a team... fortunately or unfortunately Gerrard, Rodgers and Hodgson do.
  6. Just change the criteria to suit your argument... bottom line is, it will take 20M (possibly 2 players) to replace what Lambert provides to our squad.. so RK has taken the ultimate risk in selling the one player likely to cause the most disruption to next season. I have yet to see Saints play well when Lambert has been on the bench.. so the new manager will have little time to build a team to start the season with much optimism. Hope I'm proven wrong though.
  7. Hence the reason Lamberts in the England squad and Liverpool want to buy him...
  8. Lambert may well go, but not for 4M.. that buys nothing in today's market.. he's England CF so I would think we will hold out for 8M at least.
  9. Where on earth did you get that idea... he's not a bad manager, but his methods of winning football matches does not fit our philosophy. We are now used to seeing a fluent pass and move style; similar to what Martinez has introduced at Everton.
  10. Depends whether you go to watch attractive football or are only interested in the results... MP's football style needs to be maintained and it won't be under Moyes.
  11. Moyes would be bad enough + Fellaini would be the ultimate nightmare..
  12. Can we please forget Moyes as an option.. negative thinker and not one for playing Youth scheme graduates. Yakin looks promising.. depends whether our Board can attract top coaches.
  13. Good luck MP - I think this is Levy's last throw of the dice, a huge risk given MP's lack of experience.
  14. What makes you think anything has happened as yet... probably Levy will approach us this week if he gives up on more high profile managers. I also don't understand this 'bigger club' mentality, is it just ground capacity, cos Spurs have won little or nothing lately. They are self-sustaining in terms of buying power so if MP has his wits about him he will realise we are a better prospect going forwards... IMO of course.
  15. Whatever... if MP prefers Tottenham then hope it happens this week; I think there will be a long queue for the job here.
  16. Thankfully, there are not too many Saints fans like you... your a dinosaur in your mentality.
  17. Whilst that analysis is true, I think MP has gained a reputation for playing attractive possession football which has stood out in the EPL this season. So I can see why Levy might go for him, even if it doesn't last long... lets face it, not many Managers can deal with him.
  18. Global warming, in case we return to the ice age... obviously money is no object.
  19. Indeed.... only last season Lallana was 'flattering to deceive' in many games at home.. I think MP has worked wonders on him to increase his effective contribution instead of showboating...
  20. Yes, but Cortese did a lot of research over a period of time, knowing Adkins wasn't the right man to take us forwards... this would be a rush job as whoever comes in has to sign a few players quickly.. not good
  21. Would not want Lescott as he's hopeless with the ball.. not an MP type player. Richards must have character problems, otherwise there'd be a queue for his signature. Would not be surprised if Chambers is converted and we concentrate on offensive players this summer.
  22. Just cannon fodder for BS to have another rant..
  23. Yes, its tedious and its all down to the success and style of football that MP has brought to the club; results in the players becoming higher profile. Unfortunately, we are seen as a feeder club to the top four clubs... Even Dyke only thinks of the top clubs when dreaming up these ideas to improve the young English players.. we can achieve it without any 'B' team leagues. Lets hope its all sorted next week and we have a project that satisfies MP.
  24. Not at all, lets not kid ourselves, last season he was distinctly average and MP's coaching staff have done wonders to improve his game time contribution; rather than flattering to deceive. Hence the reason that he will go nowhere if MP stays.. simple.
