Three weeks ago, supposedly, we turned down offers for players because they were too low. If we opt for administration now, presumably it is because Barclays are pushing to reduce the overdraft quicker than they previously wanted. But why would we not have grabbed at any offer in January to reduce the overdraft by whatever we could rather than losing players for even less in administration - I doubt we could get more for them come the summer. What has changed? The economy was in a mess in January too.

Most people find it hard to walk away from investments at the right time, football or others! You keep thinking you can make more if you hang on a bit longer.

Given the state of the club, can you blame people for clutching at the faintest glimmer of hope? I think you are correct, he may have looked at Liverpool at one time. The owner of my local NFL team is/was worth several hundred million dollars (founded Home Depot - largest DIY chain in US). Supposedly interested in starting an MLS team here. If he would only return my phone calls, might get him interested in a feeder club in England.

Over here, no one watches it alone - Super Bowl parties are everywhere. For many it is the one NFL game they will watch all year. Tons of food, loads of beer. The only time my local team, the Falcons, made it to the SB, I was visiting family in England so had to stay awake into the wee hours to see them stomped on by the Broncos. Steelers this time.

Before I moved to the US, I would have agreed with you but it is a great occasion, fun to watch even though I still don't understand much of what happens and sometimes the commentators might as well be speaking Greek.
