  1. Fat lot of good it's done us so far!
  2. Next season, perhaps we will appoint a decent manager for once. With the money from selling Chamberlain, we could kick out some of the bottlers and bring in some more professional players.
  3. This team just isn't good enough - how much more proof do we need? Everyone looking foward to another season in lovely League One? Adkins said that after Christmas no team would be able to live with us. Well, he got that wrong didn't he? Unless he meant next Christmas!
  4. Hows the 'current form' table looking?
  5. Unfortunately, the only league table that counts is the real one!
  6. The team has to apply itself in every game and not pick and choose which matches they decide to play well in.
  7. How about Andy Gray?
  8. With several clubs still breathing down our neck and with us having played more home games than away games, I still think we should consider opting for quality signings if they become available. You can never have too many good players, especially in these days of squad rotation. A long term injury to the likes of Lallana or Chaplow could still stop 'the bus'!
  9. This is exactly the type of match we normally lose. Come on Saints, start grinding out those all important 1-0 away wins!
  10. We are vey fortunate to have two excellent keepers at League 1 level. I think Bart deserves to play more games but this will only happen if Kelvin is injured or suffers a major loss of form. I feel sorry for Bart and I reckon he will eventually get fed up with the situation and leave for pastures new. Sad, really.
  11. I was at that game - it was a total non event with neither side attempting to score. It's always been my opinion that it was a 'fix'.
  12. Playing badly + Losing = No chance of promotion
  13. What would you call it then pal?
  14. Is it really necessary to use words like fu ck and make fun of autistic people when delivering your rubbish opinions?
  15. Totally agree - the lack of effort was very noticeable. So many players just stood there doing nothing. I am unimpressed by Atkins so far. We have managed to win some games but in general the performances have been quite awful. I think we have an average manager and an average bunch of players. This season represents a wasted opportunity for Saints. Will Mr Cortese be tempted to change things???? One things for sure, he won't be pleased with our league position.
  16. Agreed - send him back to S****horpe!
  17. Neither can I! When will that be exactly?
  18. Spot on!
  19. I am very disappointed that Saints are not in the top two. I know there is still a long way to go but I hope the points we have chucked away don't come back to haunt us. The playoffs are a lottery and we really need to be in the top two. With our stuttering away form, I can see us falling short again this season. Cue managerial departure and more chaos in the summer. I hope we can strenghten the team in January then perhaps go on a great winning run like Norwich did last season. Just doesn't seem likely judging by performances so far this season.
  20. Exactly, we are really top of the league by 25 points. According to CB Fry, we are going to be just like Blackpool, reaching the premiership without spending a penny! Just by being a bit more organised. He has totally sold me his vision. Can you imagine being just like Blackpool? The Illuminations, the Tower, the Pleasure Beach. After all, we already have the donkeys!
  21. I agree with this. Hammond lacks pace, always passes sideways and is slower turning than a double decker bus. If he tries to tackle, he usually fouls the other guy. Most times, when the going gets tough, he simply disappears from play. Bit like spiderman (the invisible man?') really.
  22. I bow to your superior knowledge. Of course we don't need any more players to secure promotion. Of course we didn't struggle against Rochdale, Carlisle et al. Of course NA is the best manager we could possibly expect in our wildest dreams. Of course we are top of the league and everything is great.
  23. I bet the folks in Carlisle and Huddersfield think he is a wonderful appointment !
  24. I was referring to the fact that Cortese appointed a 'half decent' manager in Nigel Adkins instead of appointing a top class manager albeit this would cost the club a little more. I didn't suggest spending millions on 'galacticos' although one or two decent players wouldn't go amiss right now. With a 'half decent' manager comes 'half decent' results. Will this be sufficient? Not from what I have seen this season! Interesting to note that you think we can reach the promised land by not spending any more money. I hope your right but those living in the real world might think otherwise.
  25. +1 There was a lack of transfer activity in the summer coupled with an increase in season ticket prices. Our present owners may be wealthy but I think the club is now expected to be self sufficient. Perhaps this is the real reason for Pardew's departure, he was not allowed to sign the players he knew we needed.
