Have you ever dreamed you played for Saints?
PaulGilchrist_76 replied to chocco boxo's topic in The Saints
I often dream that I am in the penalty box and the is ball pinging around and whenever it reaches me, I take a swing at it and I always miss. Usually ends up with me kicking my wife. Then she kicks me back! -

He said the same thing at the end of the last transfer window. Nothing happened.................. -
Who is this week's mystery signing?

Biggest mystery is why so many people believe all the BS. -

Maybe this is another mystery signing like the ones Nigel was working so hard to obtain in the last transfer window? -

Adkins on Saints Player re Transfers

AH, but which September! 2014? -
Give the man a chance! He's mobile, works hard and has got a useful left peg. Needs more games to develop, of course, but it's far too early to pass judgement on him yet.

I was there and the match did seem a bit odd. Saints hardly created anything despite usually being full of goals. At the time, I did wonder if Spurs had bought us off.

Could Rickie play for England?
PaulGilchrist_76 replied to Ivan Katalinic's 'tache's topic in The Saints
Yes, Rickie could play for England. Mind you, I could play for England based on their usual performances. -
Quite amusing how his managerial spell at Saints has been airbrushed from his CV. He is just a 'cheque book charlie'. Redknapp for England manager? We must be down to our bare bones!

When did Arsenal last lend us their young 'stars'

Lowe was very prudent!

In my opinion, and I repeat that for the hard of hearing, in my opinion, the purchase of a CB to play alongside Fonte is extremely important for the team this season. Far more important than buying another left back for instance. I am totally mystified why we are still faffing about, scrambling around to buy someone (anyone it seems)at this late stage. This should have been sorted out weeks (or preferably months) ago. Clearly, if targets had been identified as we are led to believe, we have been singularly unsuccessful in attracting a decent CB. Why? We are told that money is available and we have bid x amount for this player and y amount for another. Still no CB. Why? In my opinion, this is a little puzzling.

Yes, I agree with you about Guly. I think there may be a player - either a youngster or an older player who could do a job and be content with being a squad player as back up to RL. Might take some finding though! As is i said, who'd be a manager?
-
If we buy an expensive striker (4 - 6 Million say) then we would be obliged to play him week in and week out. DC would probably be the fall guy and judging by his recent form, this would be a shame. There is also the risk that the new striker does not fit in straght away! However, DC is injury prone. Who'd be a manager eh? I would like to see a back up for RL because no-one in the squad seems to be able to fill his role in the team. A powerful CB is top of the wish list. If we got these three more players in, the squad is then top heavy and I would expect Mills, Puncheon, Dickson to be shipped out. Possibly Martin and Forte to go out on loan? I know people on here will say that we don't need 3 more players now but while it would be a luxury, it would make us 'bomb proof' for the rest of the season and really send out a statement of intent!

Rodrigues was a very underated player and a fine captain but for me it has to be Alan Ball - so much experience and such a passion for the game, he seemed to get the best out of the players around him.

We have never been interested in Maynard.
PaulGilchrist_76 replied to hypochondriac's topic in The Saints
I think you're confusing this with your own posts -
No, why, have you?
-
Has someone at the club suddenly realised that the season starts tomorrow?
-
I think August might show that we should have signed a centre half long before now instead of scrabbling around trying to sign one just before the first league game of the season. Just a thought.
-
Maynard will sign for Leicester, just like all the others!

I predict nothing will happen..........................
