My name is Mike Hatch and I was at school with Ken Gibson at the time. A supporter for 45 years.
As this is my first post I want to recall a memory which I've never seen mentioned on here ....
In the Cup Winners Cup the following season we played Anderlecht at home after losing away 2-0. We scored our second goal at home to lead 2-0 and the Dell was like a cauldron. Straight from the kick-off Anderlecht played the ball forward and it rolled under Jim Steele's foot and they scored. 2-1 with an away goal; game over. I'm convinced we would have gone on to win the game and the Cup if that hadn't happened. Anyone else remember that ???
