In the next few years, I think we are going to see a lot more kids' favourites. Since relegation from the Premier League, or maybe following Strachan's departure, we haven't had a fixed side and no one has really stood out. Players would come and go and rarely spend more than a couple of seasons with us before being sold or finding another club. Back when I was a kid, we had the likes of Dodd, Le Tiss, Benali, Maddison, Monkou, Oakley, Flowers etc turning out for us week after week, season after season. These are the players people in my age group grew up with and loved and cheered on every weekend. Thankfully, with players like Lallana and Lambert committing their long-term futures to the club, I can see more following suit and youngsters these days can look forward cheering on players who want to be here and progress, not the woefully inept short-term fixes we've endured since relegation.

It's difficult to say at the moment but I don't think we'll penetrate the top eight. Of course, we proved our mettle against Championship and Premier League teams last season, but can we maintain it throughout an entire season? I'm not so sure. We fully deserved promotion but it wasn't easy and scraped through some games IMO. Adkins is clearly a good manager but he needs to make sure that, unless we bring in a string of new signings, the players he has currently at his disposal relax, play good football and win convincingly. That said, there was monumental pressure on the players last season to achieve promotion, so perhaps we could be a surprise package this time round without bearing the burden.

I think it's safe to say we won't be in for him.
