Idiots should not post on here! The 'miss' being referred to on here was going wide and JT was at full stretch and could not have scored unless he was the height of Peter Crouch. Those who have seen him play in the reserves and youth team know he has ability - admittedly , he has not yet shown his true potential in the first team - but if he is given a proper chance, I am sure he will prove himself! Problem is that too many numpties just want to go to games to moan and end up picking on easy targets ie the young players! They need encouragement and people to give them a chance - the likes of Thomson,Patterson, James and Lallana are the future of this club! If you want to moan at YOUR team , just naff off and go and support the Skates with all the other halfwits! And I hope Jake enjoys his World Cup and comes back with a bit of confidence!!

James is too slow for full back - but all this criticism of Thomson is totally unjustified - thought he gave a spark when he came on but lacked service - if you are going to play wingers, give them the ball - when Jake got it he looked a threat - what he needs is a run of games and a stop to all this negativity! Give him a chance and he will deliver the goods!!

Felt sorry for Jake! Sent out on left wing - no decent service from our playmaker - Hoofer Wotton! Thomson needs to be put out on the right wing and told to attack his full back - let's concentrate on what he is good at! When at Bournemouth last season , he was encouraged to do this by Eddie Howe and he helped turn their season around. If he is handled properly and played in the right position,he could be a big player this season. Let's hope AP plays players in the right position - eg/ Thomson RW, Paterson Centre Forward and Lallana in the middle where his creativity will hurt teams in League One!

The whole club is a joke! Wotte has been here 2 minutes and has the audacity to have a go at fans who have been supporting the Saints for years! I have had a season ticket since 1978 but will not be renewing whilst Lowe has anything to do with the club. Good luck to the 16 year old organising the protest march - poor lad has only known Saints under Lowe!! Wotte - please **** off back to Holland and take Lowe with you!

A fantastic post! I was thinking of trying to post something similar myself - but this post says it all! I have been a season ticket holder since 1977 and I still go with my Dad who has had his season ticket since 1953! We were having a serious discussion last night about whether we would renew our tickets next season if Lowe or Wilde still had any influence in the club! It's sad, but my beloved club is slowly dying before my eyes!

Apparently, Lee Molyneux has already signed from Everton but cannot play till January due to the transfer window and Skacel is definitely off in January. Also, Jack Cork is going back to Chelsea (who want to sell him to Bolton), so JP is looking at Jake Thomson as a ' ball playing' centre back - he played there for a whole season in the U18s and was man of the match in the Youth Cup Semi vs Liverpool a couple of years ago, so could be an interesting move!

So many doom and gloom merchants on here! OK , we weren't great but last year under Burley we lost 1-0 at home to Barnsley. Also,thought defence looked solid with Wotton and Perry in the middle. However, how does BWP ever get a place? Thought Jake Thomson was far more effective when he came on and deserves a proper run in the team. We could have won it if Lallana had scored towards the end. We have to accept we have no money and we are stuck with the nippers until January at least - so stop whinging and get behind the lads! It is going to be a difficult season but at least these players are trying (unlike the overpaid primadonnas of Burley's era!). I'm off to Donny next week and will not be surprised to see us win!

Top half - and if Killer stays fit, play offs are a possibility! We will be the most entertaining team to watch this season!

The starting XI on Sturday should be as tonight - except Killer for Thomas. Those saying Dyer should play instead of Thomson are totally wrong! Thomson is a far better crosser of the ball is more direct and links well with James and Lallana. I can't wait for the new season - we will be the Arsenal of the Championship! We will be great to watch and to all the doubters, get your monet on at least reaching the playoffs!

Totally agree! Jake is likely to be an important player due to his versatility and Woopert must sign him on a longer contract before other clubs start sniffing! Given a proper chance, Jake could become the new Walcott as he has pace to burn!
