  1. This. And he's pretty much a cert to go to Real Madrid in the summer. He's from Madrid, he gets to speak his own language, eat his own food, live in a warm country, and definitely play in the Champs League every season. Apparently Casillas made some howlers yesterday in their 4-0 defeat in the Madrid derby, and he's 34 in may. Good time to replace and you really can't see De Gea turning down Real.
  2. Righto, didn't think of that one
  3. Anyone know why the Blackburn game was an early kickoff? Wasn't on BBC or BT as far as I could see?
  4. Very sad what's happened to County. **** poor financial management from what I hear, plus being in the shadow of two massive local teams. In their championship days I could sometimes hear the roar of a goal in a big match from my house, about 2 miles from my house. Not a peep these days. There's a few Stockport-based City fans I know that used to go watch both, when County played on a Friday night, same way Tranmere used to get Liverpool and Everton fans. Praps they should give that a try?
  5. A Stockport-based colleague is working in London all week, and fancied going to a match. He had a look round what was on this week, and managed to get a ticket for the Spurs game tonight for £25 on general sale. So this "massive club" hadn't sold out a cup semi final three days before, even at cheapest prices. Btw he's not a Spurs fan, he's actually from Hereford, but they don't have a team at the moment.
  6. Yes.. Thought my hangover was worse than it actually is for a bit. It was the repetition of the cheesy puns that alerted me from my slumbers. Just started the same loop again. My guess is a fire drill at the studio so they've just stuck this on a loop.
  7. Bournemouth, Blackburn and either Derby or Forest. Bournemouth because I quite like Eddie Howe and it would really underline pompeys insignificance. Blackburn as they're my Dads team, plus quite local for me. Derby or Forest for selfish geographical reasons and they're both a good day out - know cracking boozers in both cities.
  8. Say what now? When's this happening? Motd is sometimes quite dull but at least everyone gets a fair crack of highlights. Itv covered the top 4 in 80% of the programme, with everyone else getting 30 seconds highlights.
  9. Whoops - forgot to add WHEN I WAS THERE - missed that one.
  10. Huddersfield away - we never managed to win there in League One, so it'd be nice to reverse that. Brighton away for similar reasons, plus my sister lives there. Southport or Wrexham for geographical reasons would be great to do a non-League ground.
  11. A multiple Arse-Buggering. This will probably get asterisked out heavily, so using rhymes - Pass-Muggering
  12. Just seen a trail for a piece BBC South have on Franny during Inside Out. 7.30 on Monday night. Only available live in the region or with a sky box, but it should be on the iplayer later. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  13. Just got a brief mention on five live from Dan Walker previewing his football focus show, so hopefully he'll be doing at least a small piece on the show itself. Up to £90k now. To put that in context, it was barely £40k a week ago. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  14. Finally got a mention in a national paper. Ok so it's the Daily Heil which is a total rag, but at least he's got a higher profile mention than the Echo, bless them. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2748093/Francis-Benali-pushing-limit-ex-Southampton-defender-runs-1000-miles-three-weeks-Cancer-Research.html Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  15. Just donated myself. Not seen any coverage of this on mainstream news channels, either local news or sports news. Bit disappointed that with Alan Shearer on the MOTD/Football Focus sofas, and Le Tiss in the "Sky Sports News HQ" studio every Saturday that we've not seen more attention to what will be a first in sporting terms. We had loads of coverage last season on the BBC when Robbie Goldilocks Savage and Alan Shearer were sitting on every seat at Wembley. Surely running 1000 miles in 21 days is more of a physical achievement. Talking of Shearer and Le Tiss, at least Matty managed to run a shortish distance with Franny, at least according to the Burnley to Man U video blog. Quite disappointed that Shearer, who must surely be fitter than Le Tiss, didn't manage to run from St James' Park to the Stadium of Light, perhaps he has an injury?
  16. With a first name of Saphir, he should sparkle on the pitch
  17. Nail on head.
  18. I'd love to know how the **** that odious ***** isn't behind bars right now. Allegedly.
  19. He's clearly f&coking deranged.
  20. Me too. I think that was the game where they miked up Graham Taylor for the whole match for a documentary, from which the phrase "do I not like that" sprung. Yes, that's not a typo, that's what he actually said, about a thousand times during the 1 hr docu.
  21. This. If Real Madrid offered us £50m for Shaw, of course we'd take it, then build our 15k ground extension with it, or buy a new keeper, left back and striker. Just as Liverpool would have to consider £80m for Suarez, given their current rather dodgy finances (not much mentioned but I think they're on UEFA's watch list for FFP).
  22. Very much the opposite for me - see below: - Very much this. It puts it very much in perspective. You can forget what a rush it was from 2009-12, with winning the JPT, just missing out on the playoffs and then 2 promotions back to back. The CC Championship Rickie goal rush was particularly good to watch. My top three, in no particular order: The penalty that gave us the lead at Wembley in the JPT final, Skates away in the CCC, scoring our first goal back in the Prem away at the reigning Champions. Technically he scored better goals, e.g. at Derby away in the CCC and the MK Dons long ranger, but I was in the ground for each of my three, and they all meant something important in terms of result or pride.
  23. How does Andy Townsend hold down a job as co-commentator? This is surely a mystery up there with the real story of who shot JFK and where Lord Lucan disappeared to.
  24. Did he ever score for us with his head? Can't say I can remember one.
  25. Notts county away October 2010, we went one down to a new-manager inspired County, losing at Half-time when a mate put £50 on us to win. Barnard won the penalty to bring us level, scored the next before Adam finished them off. Mate was ecstatic as he'd just won £200.
