Yeah, they told me that too. I'm somewhat confused and slightly annoyed with the Ticket Office at the mo': They told me that I couldn't buy a ticket today as they stopped selling them on Christmas Eve. When I asked why they told me that it was because they couldn't post them out in time. When I pointed out that they could have allowed tickets to be collected instead, they simply told me that it had been publicised that they were coming off sale on Xmas Eve, which didn't really answer my question. I asked if we'd sold out, and they thought not. I then asked whether we could buy tickets on the day, and I was told that Colchester won't allow this. So in summary, we haven't sold out for it, but we stopped selling tickets for it 4 days before the game, and I can't buy a ticket on the day. Go figure. If anyone knows any different to what I've been told, please let me know.

Blocks 2 & 3 already are Yorkie - at least according to the online sales thingy. Just trying to buy two tickets myself, however either Block 1 is sold out or they've not opened it up as yet. Perhaps they're planning to putt all the walk-ups in there?

As the message says, due to family illness one of the Northern Saints now can't go. First to PM me or ring me gets first dibs - £26 face value. Will be leaving South Manchester around 1, getting to ground around 2ish. Can meet in Manchester or at ground as suits best. Ticket now spoken for. Cheers for the headsup Pilsburyman

Hmm - that seems like a **** take to me. Looks like Leeds will do anything they can to restrict the number of away fans. Hope we're not getting charged for the non-sold tickets, 'cos if we are, they've got a nerve charging us for tickets we can't then sell on the day of the game. -
You can listen online here - http://www.football-league.co.uk/latestnews/podcast-episode-14-20091104_2245681_1872738 - no fast forwarding though or subscribe through iTunes and download episode 14 - Ricky's 26 minutes in. Fazakerley in scouse sounds just like the "exactly" from the Accrington Stanley milk advert from the 80s -

Must remember to wear my thermals to keep me warm in the lovely North facing South East Stand they put the away fans in. Remember the last time we played there (3-0 to us!) and how cold it was towards the end of November. My teeth were chattering so hard it probably sounded like clapping to everyone else. -

May we ask why you're going in the (home) Revie End rather than the Saints end? Don't get me started on booking fees - Ticketmaster, RyanAir, EasyJet etc all use this tactic to rip you off. -

They're averaging just over 24.5k per game, although they sold 36.5k for the Huddersfield derby on Saturday, so this stuff about them needing the extra 1000 tickets for their fans is utter BS. Just confirms every prejudice I have about how Leeds United operate - dirty, shabby, cheating b*stards - add Ken Bates and you have the perfect mix - a scumbag club owned by a greedy, grasping ex-Chelscum tw*t. I have friends who used to have Season Tickets at Elland Road, and they can't stand the man either. At least we only have to put up with this for one game a season. http://stats.football365.com/dom/ENG/D2/attend.html -
Why pay £20 - the face value's only £18?

Pretty sure that rule only applies in the Football League, and that there is no equivalent rule in the Premiership, so they could go into admin whenever as they wouldn't get a points penalty.

I may have this wrong, but doesn't this now make 3 months in a row they've not paid some of the wages on time? September - Players paid late October - Staff paid late (disgraceful as these are people on normal wages, not footballers') November - some players paid late again. The BBC are reporting it as only twice in the last 3 months, forgetting about the staff wages in October.

Why don't the airlines want them, or is that a state secret?

Here's a site I came across a while back - it has every league table back to 1888. No reason to doubt the accuracy: http://www.rsssf.com/engpaul/FLA/league.html

Echo most of that, apart from the breakfast, which I didn't partake of. The TGI Fridays next to the ground where we then had our last pre-match pint in must rank among the worst pubs of the season, apart from the waitresses' uniforms, all wearing Saints shirts without club crests or sponsor names, and *very* short skirts - easy now Bungle.

Saints vs Rotherham or Luton - 3rd Round Draw Thread
stockportsaint replied to Arizona's topic in The Saints
my thoughts exactly - on the bright side it's a home draw against a team 1 or 2 divisions below us, so we *should* beat them comfortably. Would still have preferred a big team away, or pompey anywhere -
Can't see any need for it from our perspective, and therefore it would never happen. However it is interesting to note that Everton were the original tenants of Anfield, it would make perfect sense for Everton to take Anfield back if Liverpool move out to their bigger stadium, but given Liverpool's financial difficulties that'll not be for some time.

Seeing as the BBC highlights are for UK residents only, does the Sky Sports version work where you are?

The tune for the Adam Lallana song is from the intro to "Jackie Wilson says", originally by Van Morrison in the early 70s, covered by Dexy's Midnight Runners in the mid-80s. Good example of the intro can be found here:
