As far as I can see, no-one has yet addressed the issue of what happens if P*mpey go bust and are kicked out of the football league, and everyone shuffles up 1 place. As I understand it, if they are liquidated before the end of the season, then only 2 further Prem teams will be relegated to the Championship, meaning that when 3 teams go up to the Prem, there will be an extra place in the Championship to fill. Now either only 2 teams will get relegated from the CCC, or, more likely IMHO, 4 teams will get promoted from League 1. The likeliest way to do this would be top 3 automatic and 4-7 playoff, as per League 2, unless they decide to have the winners of the 2 playoff semis promoted, but that would mean no Wembley final, and I can't see that happening. If P*mpey get booted to the Blue Square Premier, then presumably there will also be 3 promotions from the BSP to League 2, and 5 promotions from League 2 to League 1. If all the above comes to pass, then 7th would be enough for us to make the playoffs, which, if we won them from 7th, would mean that P*mpey would have helped us get promoted.

Well that wouldn't apply to Pompey fans then surely? Don't understand why they weren't kept in for at least 20-30 minutes to let the majority of the Saints fans disperse. When we went to Millwall, even though there's no major history of aggro between us, the police kept us in for a good 15 minutes, then we were held in the walkway for the trains for another 10-15 minutes.

+1 - they need to be kept simple. Not seen it in the thread yet, how about a nice simple one liner, repeated until bored: "Taxman's gonna get ya, Taxman's gonna get ya"

Yes he is, according to this: http://www.soccerbase.com/players_details.sd?playerid=38041

Greasy Nick's on East Street? - used to go in there for lunch when I worked at Yellow Pages next to Debenhams, back in the late 80s. Is it still going?
-
Don't forget Barcelona and their UNICEF shirts - costs them (Barca) £1m a season I believe. Pompey's original nickname was The Shrimpers, although I'm not sure which came first, pink shirt or sh*t nickname. Back to the original thread, overall, a great idea. I have never been happy acting as an unpaid billboard, and have only ever bought 2 replica shirts with adverts on. Will definitely buy this one. Separate question - I note that the actual quote is:

Cheers - didn't think of looking at the actual profile. Unfortunately you still see threads started by them, even if you can't read their actual post. Think I'll be putting quite a few on my ignore list.
-
Can anyone tell me if there's a way to ignore all posts by a particular forum member, like you can on Facebook?

Quality LOL some people are never happy - we won FFS.

is that a prediction or fact?

My thoughts too. At least they're doing a regional prog, which is far more than ITV ever did when they had the rights. Their highlights prog. was a total shambles - 25 minutes on one game, then 30 secs each on every other game. Thought the piece on Paul Tisdale and Exeter was very good. Going by the number of teams they've got to cover we should get highlighted 3 times a season. However the piece on Pompey being skint was pretty poor, no real detail and if you've watched South Today all week no new coverage.

Available soon on the iPlayer for anyone who missed it (UK Users only I'm afraid): http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00pxvt3/Inside_Out_South_11_01_2010/

Guess he just cuts his suit according to the cloth available. Whether Aidy Hoofroyd can claim the same thing is another question - Watford - hoofers, Colchester - dirty niggling hoofers.

As AFC are in the playoffs of the Conference, theoretically it could happen in the League next season, although it would take a calamitous 2nd half of the season for MK to get relegated to meet them. Still, I reckon they'll be in the same division as each other within 5 years. Be interesting to know what most AFC fans would want to do at that point: 1) refuse to play MK (probably get chucked out of the league/docked points if they did that) - would they sacrifice the 6 points they might get docked to make the point. 2) take no away fans to MK, and ban MK fans from their ground (like Sunderland/Newcastle did a few seasons back). 3) your option - take the maximum allocation they can and then trash the away end - they could end up with a massive fine, but I reckon they'd get a fair few quid from "neutral" fans if they started an online charity fund to pay the fine.

I must agree - Ticket news should be one of the clearest and easiest things to find on a football club website, yet it's now more difficult than on the old official site, probably nothing to do with the club, all to do with the new design, which is the same on many other official club sites. I find it particularly difficult finding away ticket details, they seem to be all over the place. As a fan who predominantly goes to away games, and is involved in the ordering/distribution of tickets for the Northern Saints it would help me greatly if they could have one section of the site purely for away tickets news, as it is I have to look all over the place.

I stand corrected - that'll have naffed off these Luton nutters then.
-
Heard from a Saints fan who lives near Luton that many of their nutters were quite glad to see Luton relegated last season, as banning orders only apply to Football League matches, so it meant they could start going to games again.

On the ITV website - 4-6.30 pm Sunday 3rd Jan: http://www.itv.com/#details?tvgListingID=82199648&tvgEpisodeID=23102414&tvgShowID=2835088&tvgTitle=FA%20Cup%20Live%3A%20West%20Ham%20v%20Arsenal

can't be certain it'll work till kick off, but this page on the BBC site seems to suggest the Saints game will be streamed on the Radio Solent feed: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/fa_cup/8342422.stm

my thoughts exactly - with a crowd of 30k in SMS you would expect to sell a couple of hundred Colchester tickets to people who hadn't made their mind up till that day, or didn't want to risk having the tickets posted out earlier. I still don't understand why they told me tickets would NOT be available on the day, when from what Bungle's posted, they clearly will be - well done Bungle for finding that out.
-
I'll take it off you, but I can't seem to PM you. My email is xxxx
-
I guess you mean sitting in the home end - bit daft that we have to do that when we haven't sold out our allocation.
-
Hmm - long way to go to get turned away though. Might be worth a call to the Colchester ticket office first thing Monday.
-
I was told different today at 5.15, but that they couldn't sell me a ticket, nor could I buy one on the day.
