West End Saint

It will be interesting to see some of our squad get a run out looking forward to seeing De Ridder play a full game Morgan needs a game after what happened in the Forest game he needs 90 mins & a good performance it will do Chappers a bit of good having a full game as well. I am not sure who will get the nod up front with Barnard injured we dont seem to have many options I guess Forte will play but we will need Lambo DC & Lallana on the bench. I hope we can continue with our home record Preston are going well in League 1 so will be no pushovers but I would like to think we will turn them over I am going for the obligatory 3.1 to the mighty Saints

Both class players but I wouldnt swap DC is in the form of his life looks really fit his movement & link up play are 1st class good finisher he is such a clever player withthe runs he makes & the way he reads the game. DC is the perfect foil for lambo when Lambo wins the header DC is there to collect the ball it is like having a new player everybody had written him off & he is back playing very very well so DC for me

I was not convinced 2nd half V Forest but to be fair that was his 1st game this season he was much better yesterday I thought he had a decent game looks good on the ball & challenged well for the ball I am not saying he is the long term partner for Fonte but he will do a good job & is better than we currently have available. A centre back partnership takes a bit of time he & Fonte did well yesterday & it was only his 2nd game he can play a bit not some lump it merchant I am quite happy with him for the time being I hope he turns out to be good enough to offer a long term contract we will see

Enjoy the ride everything at the club is right we have owners with a plan & ambition we have a youngish manager with lots to prove a very good side with talent & desire & fantastic team spirit everyone is pulling in the same direction it has been a long long time since we last had everything like this. People have said we havent played the top 6 but we have played some big teams that were predicted to do well Leeds Ipswich Forest & Brum & beat them all no doubt there are very tough games ahead & no doubt we will have a wobble or 2 but who cares we have a really good side playing great football that is a joy to watch our club is sound and moving forward it feels good to be a Saint

You should have been at Ipswich away first half for 35 minutes the best I have ever seen Saints play the passing & movement was just top draw all at pace Ipswich were chassing shadows. I do agree that we also played very very well in patches 1st half against Forest the move for the 2nd goal was sublime but honest we were better & for longer away at Ipswich

Lets hope Cork starts in midfield & Richardson & Harding are back in the team am I right in thinking Brum play in Europe Thursday I hope so we have an extra day to get everyone back fit I hope they have a tough game & we are fresh with everybody back fit. No doubt it will be a tough game but we have the players to cause any team problems we look good going forward we have great confidence & belief even when we go behind I back the boys to keep the run going 3 1 to the Mighty Saints

9 of us going staying Saturday nite in Manchester which should be fun going on the Train 7.01 out of Parkway to Manchester & then on to Burnley not done Turf More yet so another tick off the list looking forward to it.

Couldnt agree more regarding Cork in Centre mid wasted at right back he has been immense in the middle of the park & we missed him in there. I thought Fox looked ok going forward good delivery as you said I was worried with his defending he got done several times when 1 on 1 it is early days for him & he will get better.

As I said I think Morgan is quality & I think that longer term he & Cork will be our centre midfield but he didnt do a man marking job on Greening imo as Greening bossed midfield 2nd half.Morgan went missing due to lack of concentration & thought he had more time than he had I think it was just one of those games for him & am sure that he will be back to his best but for the moment on form we need Cork & Hammond Cork has been immense in there was very surprised to see him start at right back

Very Good win Forest can consider themselves a little unlucky not to get a point however the same was said of us away at the Foxes we played very well in patches 1st half Guly Lallana Connolly Lambo all fantastic. I really like Morgan as a player but he was not at the races at fault for the 1st goal off the pace all game we have to have Cork in centre midfield & Hammond is in the form of his life. Great game of football & fantastic result Lambo was brilliant not just his goals but won all his headers his 1st touch was class

Got my tickets today 8 of us going up & having a nite out in Manchester after the game looking forward to it not done Turf Moor so it is another tick off the list. We are going by Train 7.03 out of Parkway hope we get the 3 points COYS

I was disapointed we didnt sign a striker and I do think over the course of the season we need another option & competition for a place up front however I do think we will get a loan in or buy someone in Jan. I can also understand why we didnt get anybody as some of the prices were mental & we seem to be making sure we spend wisely on the right player for us that will enhance the team & the spirit not just pay mega bucks for some Billy Big Balls. We have started well, Cork looks like buy of the season Deridder looks quality & Fox ought to be a good signing at the moment I trust the club to do the right thing they don't lack ambition & we are heading the right way so I am on the Bus & enjoying the ride.

I think we are good enough to win it however it is a very tough league & West Ham & Liecester have spent big on good players so I think play offs. Still think this is most competative league in Europe & can see it being very tight from middle to top but IF we can keep playing the way we are we must have a chance I know it is a big ask to keep your form all season but Brighton did it last season until guaranteed promotion.

I saw them at the Lap Stone at Horton Heath after the Swindon away game last season I thought they were really good great band & Saints fans what more could you want

Not concerned with what Warnock has to say I just want the best for SFC so if we drive a hard bargain & want any potential signing to be up to our standards so be it, we have seen what not getting value for money has done to us in the past & the fish fiddlers recently. I am not suggesting that NC is easy or very nice to deal with & lot's of people do not like him but you have to say he is 100% commited to getting the best for Saints as he see's it & is doing alright.

With Saints of today you never know who we are looking at signing until the club confirm or deny we are just as likely to sign a couple of players we havent even been linked with that is how we do business now. It seems obvious to me that we need a centre back & centre forward I can't believe that NA & NC havent got something lined up but we will only find out when things are done & dusted. I would have liked Gorkss to come to us but I only know what I have heard or read about him so can't say if he would have been the player we need I am going to not worry who we don't sign & keep my fingers crossed that the powers that be know what they are doing & get the right players in.

I voted for him to come back into our squad subject to a massive change in his attitude he is a good player but he thinks he is better than he is but in this league he could be a great squad memeber if he can stop being a knob. If he go's so be it I am not that concerned either way but if we can't sell or loan him at a deal right for Saints I hope we can get his head sorted & utilise him he is a decent Footballer

I agree with you we need a centre back & a striker we need to find a long term partner for Fonte another centre back with quality & a bit of experience. We have to sign a striker it is asking a lot for DC to play week in week out bound to pick up a injury, Barnard is going to do some time imho so we will be without him, we dont have back up for Lambo so we do need a striker & a quality 1 that is pushing for a start. With the start we have had & the way we are playing it would make sense to get the chequebook out & spend big, look how Hammond has raised his game since Cork arrived we need to bring in players that are going to compete & keep everybody on there game. We are 2 signings away from a promotion winning squad imo, will be a statement of intent if we invest & I think we will

Just had a look on the Foxes forum lots of unhappy campers already calling for Sven to go they have a very expensive team that has not settled yet but no doubt they will be a threat this season when they hit form. I think us not having a game this week will be a big help we looked tired 2nd half Saturday, we still have the momentum & confidence if we can play our game in the form we are in there is nobody to fear & I wont be surprised if we win again. I hope they have a tough game in the carling cup & we can knick all 3 points on Saturday the way we are playing as a team you have to believe we will give them a tough game

Very pleased with the win nice to see we can grind a result out when required Saints of old would have cracked under the pressure but we defended well great football for the goal. The run continues records keep getting broken I am loving being a Saint

I really hope we never have to find out what Adam is worth he is the 1 player we cant replace he has the lot if he had a bit more explosive pace he would be world class. He can go on to become a Saints legdend & achieve Le Tiss status

Very tough to call MOTM Cork was awesome Lallana plays football from a different planet Connolly was 1st class but for me Lambert was MOTM he won every ball played up to him & did something with it his link up play was outstanding looked fit sharp & faster than last season took his goals very well sublime pass for the last goal Ipswich could not get near him Lambert 9.5 Cork 9 Lallana 8.9 Connolly 8

What a trip what a game Saints were stunning the best I have seen us play the 1 touch passing & running off the ball all our goals were top top quality we looked hungry worked for each other Guly chassing back the length of the pitch to help out fantastic team performance. Lallana is God what a player so skillfull should of had 4 but I will let him off as he had a hand in all the goals what a player Cork fantastic signing good on the ball loads of energy & running he must have nicked the ball in the midfield dozens of times great passing & movement magnificent 1st half Lambert my MOM won everything held the ball up 2 great goals set up the 5th with a sublime pass fot Lallana the Ipswich defenders just could not get near him immense looking fit & sharp Connolly so clever great touch & awareness always finds space working very well with Lambo chased everything class act we played Ipswich who are a good side & will do well this season of the park for all but 20 mins even when they got back into the game we went straight on the attack from the restart & Lallana was so unlucky having rounded the keeper had the ball hacked of the line. Very proud of our team fantastic performance

Great news if Morgan has resigned he is class so comfortable on the ball great vision I believe he can step up to the prem he is a proper player quality fantastic news we are getting a crop of good young players that can develop & step up to the prem Cork Lallana Morgan De Ridder Fonte Fox could all hold there own in the Prem. NC & NA are doing a great job fair play to them good work

Someone pinch me we are talking about spending £5m + a couple of seasons ago we couldnt spend £5 not sure that Rodriguez is worth that but he is very highly thought of & young enough to devolp & get better so I would be very happy to have him at Saints & how nice is it to be able to compete in the transfer market. The jury was out on NA regarding signings but Cork looks 1st class quality player De Ridder looks brilliant very pleased with Fox signing he looks a player if we get Rodriguez or another top quality striker & a new centre back we will have a very very strong squad mostly of a good young age fair play Nigel I am loving your work
