West End Saint

I have to disagree a bit I thought some of our passing and movement was brilliant admitedly we lack the finish some of the moves warranted but could have been a couple up at half time. The way I saw it Plymouth backed off from the last 10 mins 1st half and all second half and defended there 18 yard box to deny us the final ball or shot on goal then hit us on the break and could have scored themselves but all in all I thought we dominated the game played well and should have won we just lack a finisher

I have to disagree I thought Spiderman and Drew were awesome our best midfield partnership by a million miles I thought Spiderman was MOM last night and Drew has been our best player year to date both got there foot in and are good on the ball hope we can keep them both but somehow think they will be sold

A fantastic turn out for a game we were likely to get battered awesome support from the Saints fans and fatastic effort by the lads really enjoyed the day out would be great if we can keep that sort of atmosphere for Tuesday oh and a another win would be nice UTS !

It would be nice and very important to follow up a impressive away victory against a top side with a home win to try and go on a little run and inject some much needed home form and confidence. Lets get behind the boys and drive them onto victory like we did Saturday great performance great support awesome day out COYR!

I would be more than happy to get rid of any of those you mention or anyone else for that matter to keep Surman and Lallana as both could go on to become great players for us but with the bank wanting Money in I can see them both being sold and Kelvin as well and with it being a fire sale I dont think we will get what they are worth.

I have been at a few dinners where Matt has been the after dinner speaker and he is far from Wuperts greatest fan in fact he confirmed what the vast majority know that Wupert is a nob. In fact whenever I have heard him speak he is refreshling honest and genuinely loves the club I agree with him we could use 1 or 2 old heads in the team Jason Euell has made a difference when he has played we do need some experience

I did read your post & accept that you are not suggesting he plays full back but i dont accept the comparision with Safri he is a lot bigger stronger and better than Gillett. If you are that small you have to be exceptional Gillett is a good player & may get better but in a team that already lacks hieght & physical strength he weakens the team. I think surman & Spiderman are doing well in the middle and I cant see Gillett as a 1st team player this season or until anybody who is worth something is sold so maybe Jan

We will be there a monkey bus of 14 giving it the big 1 cant help but think we will get hammered but hopefully I will be to squiffy to care looking forward to it UTS!

Dennis Wise was a class Prem player you cant compare him to Gillett in anything but sides they are worlds apart as players and you wouldnt have played wise a full back

Please tell me your are joking as if we could do with any less hieght at the back we are getting done left right and centre at any set piece I cant see a place for Gillett in the team at all not a bad player but far far to small for this league

I felt sorry for the lad he clearly isnt ready for a starting spot he was like a Rabbit in headlights on saturday I dont understand why we dont use him as a impact sub bad management in my book it will now take a bit of doing for the lad to get his confidence back

I was proud of the team and the Saints fans on Saturday apart from a very dodgy 15/20 mins defensivley 1st half I thought we played very well and deserved something out of the game a bit of luck in front of goal or just 1 decision from what has to be the worst Ref I have ever seen. We battered them 2nd half you wouldnt have thought we only had 10 men the boys played really well I must also say Saints fans were awesome really got behind the team and created a good atmosphere it was a good game UTS!

For my mind Surman is a quality midfielder he has been 1 of our most consitent performers he has been played out of position on a lot of ocassions but just gets on with job and gives 100 % I would be gutted if he went for 1.5m

Have to agree I thought he was gash under Burley different player under NP and he played well the other day and when he came on Sat makes a huge diffirence having a fit focused expirenced pro he could be a big player for us this season

Even if we are in the bottom 3 in May in cant see any changes in Manager or Chairman until we are sold or go bust

What a result about time we showed some guts rolled our sleves up and fought till the end well done Saints and well done to the travelling Saints fans I didnt go didnt fancy us to get anything well done to those that did and kept singing even when we where 2 down made my weekend. UTS!

Have to agree the whole country has become a bit gray corporate and sanatised Whilst you cant condone wide spread Football violence its not quite so tribal anymore and things have gone far to PC and nicey nicey Bring back some terraces and proper atmospher

He had a great game against Brum in the cup and my god dont we need a no nonsense aggresive centre back at the moment. If we had a settled back four with players that are not playing out of position we would be doing so much better you have to build a side from the back and we havent done that

Good post I to long for the days of the terrace when a goal was scored and the whole end surged forward and you would find your self a good few rows further forward going mental with people you didnt know Happy Happy days. Whilst it wasnt all good in the late seventies and early eighties when I started going to Football I do miss proper grounds with proper fans. UTS!

At the start of the season 4-5-1 was working ok and looking good but our starting position was higher up the pitch and we worked really hard at chasing the oppostion and winning the ball in there half we are not doing that now we start the play way to deep and invite teams to press us. So I am in favour of a change to 4-4-2 I know it means playing Lallana out of position but we must get more bodies in the box and starting with two up front would help i would have the following (subject to being fit) Davis Skacel Sevenson Lanchashire Cork Surman Spiderman Euell Lallana Mcgoldrick Robertson

Agreed at the end of last season he had 3 or 4 good games he was MOM last nite hope he stays fit and has a decent run in the team he and spiderman look like they can form a partnership we also need his phsyical pressence and experience
