Time for our season to start / league table to watch
West End Saint replied to NickG's topic in The Saints
I think we now have a more than decent squad & a squad AP can call his own we are progressing and the results will come. Talk of play off's & promotion is to much to hope for this season if we can get mid table and push on next season I will be happy. -
For me it is simple fed the lamb & he will score we have to provide him with some service decent crosses & he will get on the end of them. It would also help at lot if Lambert had a regular and decent partner to share the work load he can't do it all on his own,we need a strike partner that can do there share of hold up link up play then Lambert can be in the box getting on the end of stuff. It will come I am sure AP has got some quality players in and it will fall into place soon I have faith that if we can win a couple we could go on a run & climb the table.

We will be in Hole in the wall at about 11.00 am & then off to the Antiglaican which is near the ground come & have a beer UTS

I went to that game what a day out ! we didnt think we were going to win and was p1ssing our self's laughing as the goals rained in signing there ring of fire song happy days. Wolves played better than us that day as well how we won 6-0 I don't know everything we hit went in great game you can never tell with Football. we went to Reading last season expecting to get spanked & you have to say chances are we will get beat at Charlton, but you just never know particularly with Saints. COYS!

Reading & Forest was good particularly Forest. Forest & Watford away last season brought a tear to my eye proud to be a Saints fan with that support I hope Saturday is as good. I intend to get Badgered have a sing song and a good day out
-
I think a 1000 + north of Birmingham is good support whilst I dont go to every away game the one's I have been to the last few season's have been good & noisey. Stoke Wolves Birmingham West Brom Forest liecester Derby Coventry Man City (cup) Doncaster over the last 3 seasons these all spring to mind with us having a lot more than 1000 away fans. The games south of Birmingham often have 2000 to 3000 QPR Watford Reading Charlton Swindon Bristol Crystal palace are all games last 3 seasons we have had good & vocal numbers. If thats not decent away support I stand corrected.
-
We have very good away support in this league & in the CCC I am always surprised how many away fans we take & expect Charlton to be a good turn out 2000 to 2500 would be my guess. I love London away days train up few bears good sing song can't wait for Saturday hope Papa makes his debuet COYR

I am very happy at the way the club is being run I dont think anyone can argue it is less than professional, they are getting on with the changes needed to take us forward and I have no doubt we are on the right track. I am happy with AP and his new signings all the players he has brought in are a level above what we had and will enhance the team. The only disapointment is the start we have made I didnt have any dreams of promotion for this season but I did think we would have a lot more points on the board.I am not calling for any changes and believe the results will come in time. We are a club that needs some stability and if it takes all this season to rebuild I dont care, finishing mid table would be success this term but I want promotion next season and if we can let the people in the job do the job I think we will get promotion next season the last thing we need is more change.
-
Well I hope I see you in there on Saturday it is my brothers birthday and we are out for a big session a sing song and great day out 3 points would be welcome aswell 6 of us getting the 9 am from Parkway to Waterloo then chaos & mayhem till bedtime can't wait. UTS COYR

I would agree the squad is more than good enough for this league I dont think we are far away from being a very good side. We must find a way of playing to get the best out of Lambert feed the Lamb & he will score so we need to provide width & decent crosses. Kelvin James Jaidi Trottman Harding Papa Morgan Hammond Holmes or mills Lambert Saga Bench Patterson Lallana Thomas Bart Melis Mills That team for me would do the trick just need the massive dose of confidence a few wins would provide & we will be ok.
-
I have to agree with this team the only thing I would change is Murty for Thomas when fit. I like Lallana he has great skill & ability but isnt producing the final ball & unbalances the team, I would have him on the bench & throw him on when 1 off the wingers had run themselves into the ground. We have the leagues top goal scorer we have to supply him with chances & Adam isnt doing that at the moment.
-
I think this would be a ok line up away from home, I didnt think Lallana did that well Saturday when he played off Lambert he was slow to react to he flick on's ect. Lallana's the sort of player you want to fit into the team he is talented but you do have to fit him in, at home I can only see him playing wide right as we need two up front or maybe don't start with him. We have invested 1 million in a proven goal scorer and we are failing to provide decent service, we need to build the team round Lambert because if anyone is going to get the goals to get us up league it is him so maybe Lallana needs to come on from the bench
-
I would agree with this I like Hammond think he is a decent midfielder that can do a bit of everything we have to start playing Morgan he is a proper player these two will make a good partnership I think we should play James wide right he has a good cross on him and could provide the service we need for Lambert

Why season before last I had a great time in there lots of Saints having a sing song and quite a few bears good day was had by all, I might be hazy with me memory as I was a bit sh1t faced. We usualy go to Covent Garden and have a few bears to start we will do the same this time.

The most shocking saints gift you've been given?
West End Saint replied to Pilchards's topic in The Saints
The kids gave me a teddy bear key ring wearing a Saints shirt saying Saints no1 fan which was nice of them but it is camper the a row of pink tents and has never seen the light of day. I bought my brother the Saint gnome for his last birthday it is Quality and has been to a few away games. In the seventies & eighties scarfs where all the rage & I had a silk yellow & blue 1 bought in about 78/79 that was so cool I used to have a red & white 1 on 1 wrist & the yellow 1 on the other & 1 round my neck I must have looked a proper T W A T but thought I was cool as F U C K -
If Saga is away this is the team I would go with

Fine work well worth the time spent I LOL it is nice to have a laugh at the fence licking gippo's for a change the good Dr might end up being a bigger ***t than wupert

Very very happy with Signings Pardew has seen where we needed improving & bought good quality players in 1 of our problems was we were too small the players he has bought have added much needed hieght to our team. He has changed the back 4 Jaihdi is a great signing so is Murty Trottman looks very good & the more I see of Harding the more I like him all very good signings Hammond looks a good player Mellis has potential looked good 1st half v Brum Lambert is quality a proper centre forward we just need to give him the service Feed the Lamb & he will Score Papa looks on paper a good signing cant wait to see him play & find out how good he is. Now I think we will find out how good we are Pardew now has his team he can get them focused on the job now the window is shut & i expect the results to come I dont think we will get out of the league this season but would expect us to next. Really looking forward to saturday we are due a result COYR UTS

I am happy with our squad we look solid at the back with Jahdi coming in & Saga & Lambert should be a handfull for anyone in this league if we can get a pacey striker in & some width on loan we will be sorted. Kelvin Thomas Jahdi Trottman Harding James Spiderman Hammond Lallana Saga Lambert That would be my starting 11 I know James has played well centre mid but he is a good crosser of the ball & we need to supply amo for Lambert I would bring Murty back in as soon as he is fit but this team should get us up this league. I am glad the transfer window is shut we can now focus on getting points on the board & get some team ethic try to keep changes to a minimum & get some results. We also have good options on the bench Holmes Mellis Patterson we have a good squad it is time for them to deliver I think AP has done well in the transfer market lets have it UTS

Live Deadline Day Transfer Rumours from Daily Echo
West End Saint replied to ruddick's topic in The Saints
Right I am off home now a bit p1ssed off we havent signed anyone but I guess if Saga & Spiderman are staying it is not all bad like the signings we have made but just feel we need some pace & width & bit more cover at the back. I suppose we will get some loans in I wait to see but I am glad the window is over and the players that are staying can now focus on doing a good job for us and getting us to + points & up the league. -

You said it Bruvkin Clunge and Flaps where's our signings FFS -
I would take mid table now if it was on offer promtion with minus 10 points was never on the cards the new owners & Pardew didnt get control soon enough to do anything other than rebuild this season we need some stability to move forward we have had so much change & turmoil it is time to give people enough time to change things for the better next season I would expect promotion I think the owners have shown ambition and Pardew will be given whats needed to achive promotion next season this season is about rebuilding

Volz is a good shout to get in as a replacement if we could get him to come would be a good player in this league. I think people are being a bit harsh on James he was gash early part of last season but towards the end i felt he had found his feet at right back and was the most improved player in the squad last season he seemed to be getting better & better and understanding the position he is not a natural full back and for me he is best wide right great cross for Lamberts first goal but if we dont get anybody in he will provide decent cover at right back and improve as he gets used to the position again
