West End Saint

I dont think some people realise the work & effort Rickie puts in it is a very hard job leading the line & a lot of this season he has been doing it on his own. As has been pointed out he is not only scoring bundles of goals his assists are very high too he made two goals at Northampton Papa should have scored from his cross & when he gets a chance he hits the target. Fantastic signing and a great player

Have to agree Spiderman was fab his 1st touch vision & passing even under pressure was quality he & Lallana are our most talented players they were taking Wycombe on on there own for parts of the 1st half. I love the way spiderman plays with his head up looking to switch the play from 1 flank to the other he is very comfortable on the ball. I hope we can hang onto both of them in Jan there will be clubs sniffing round them but they are better of staying & playing.

We did thrash them 1 0 should have been 4 how papa didnt score I will never know thought Spiderman was fab 1st half great 1st touch & vision was really pulling the strings Murty did well & Papa caused all sorts of problems as did Antonio. What a great feeling being out of the bottom 4 I didmt think we would do that by Xmas we are in great form AP has done a fantastic job I am loving watching my team keep it up Saints

JPT all the way for me we have a very good chance of getting to Wembley what better way to thank Marcus than to win something would be a Fantastic day out I dont care if people think it is a tin pot comp it has been to long since we won a trophy. I have always thought the play offs are a big ask I am not writting off our chances but I think mid table for us this season. I also think if we can win the JPT it will have a huge feel good factor for the team & club that and a good season in the league & we could really push on for next season

I have always thought play offs would be a stretch mid table & JPT final would do for me I am really enjoying this season home & away wouldnt mind a crack at this league with no points deduction. I would be a happy camper if we did make the play offs & the way we are playing it is just about possible but what a difference to last season you just think every game we could win this even if we go a goal down happy days I am loving being a Saint. I am really looking forward to Saturday away at Northampton 2nd round of the cup I am back in love with footy & my team. COYS !

We will take more than 2000 no problem & away to Northampton 2nd round of the cup that is good support we havent got our tickets yet getting them today there will be a lot sold today & Friday. I just hope we get through the game with no injuries get the win & get a big Prem team 3rd round Liverpool away would do me not been to Anfield I dont ask for much!

I think we do have a strong squad but if Trotters cant stay past Jan we need a Centre Back if we can keep him we dont. I would like to see a defensive midfielder with a bit of experience and a back up striker in case of a Lambo injury. It will depend on how many we can get rid of if we can offload a few we might get a couple in but if we cant move any players on I cant see us increasing the wage bill.

I sometimes wonder about our fans we have 1 of the best strikers in this league who is second top scorer in the division he has had a couple of mediocre games still scored against Brighton. He has not been well & still put a shift in winning & challenging for headers holding the ball up occupying the centre backs & causing them problems & he still gets criticised We should thank our lucky stars that we have him and reserves criticism untill he has 5 or 6 bad games he has been a fantastic signing & when we start to get wide & provide him with decent service he will score hatfulls of goals

Trotters is a fantastic prospect he is still very young for a centre back & has lots of time to become a quality player. He had a very poor game v Brighton and was rightly subbed however he played much better against Norwich and up until the Brighton game had been 1st class. It would be a fantastic signing if we can get him permantly the lad will be a decent player.

Cracking game of Football two very good sides playing good stuff we can consider ourselfs slightly unlucky Kelvin with the peno & he made a mistake with the 2nd. James is not a right back and for me was the weak link not getting on the lads back I like him but not at right back he has cost us recently glad to see Murty back. People have been saying on here Lambert has been poor last 2 games a tad harsh on him I think in previous games he has been so good that a little dip in form stands out he is the best striker in the league & we have played him every game maybe he could do with a rest to freshen up. Lallana had a great game good goal Connoly is quality fab goal glad Trotters put his poor game behind him and did ok. Point gained for me against a good side we are still going in the right direction COYS

Fantastic effort ! Getting on the Footballgroundsmap kind of concentrates the mind and gets you thinking about doing the 92. I am only on 28 current league grounds but have done 46 grounds in total but I am in now and going to give it a bash dont know how long it will take me but I am giving it a go. It puts a new perspective on games ie Northampton other years I might have given this a miss but I havent done 6 fields so I am going so I can tick it of the list. Anyway I always love a away day watching the Saints & trying to do the 92 just gives me a bit more incentive to go.

That was my Brothers 1st away game he would have been about 8 I was 11 we were discussing this thread (top 1 by the way) as he couldnt remember going to this game but he was there we were both in tears at the end having lost. As I have already posted mine was at the 1976 semi final at Stamford Bridge the funny thing is whilst my Brother cant remember going in 1979 he remembers clear as day me going to the final in 76 & him not being able to go as he was only 5 he is still not happy about it

Agree has been much better away from home sign nice & slow also OWTS is much much better sung slow why do all our songs have to be at 100 mph STOP IT & SLOW DOWN. At least it is starting to catch on at home lets get it right & right behind it

Yep fair play & massive respect to the Codger I think it is great that he still gets down to watch the mighty Saints. My Dad is in his late 60's & comes home & away with us he will continue to do so for as long as he can & he has got a lot of good years in him long may it continue he loves it. Fair play to all the old codgers that love the Saints I salute you.

My first away game was at Stamford Bridge F A Cup semi final V Crystal Palace 1976 aged 9 I can remember the peno was in front of the Saints fans and when it went in it just went mental. I can clearly remember Malcolm Allisons fedora hat what a day out I think that is the day I became a Saint forever happy days

4 5 1 for me to it gives us a chance to get a foothold in the game then change it if we have to Connoly is a great impact sub to bring on when the space is opening up. I think Pards felt after Connoly scoring a couple at Brizzle he owed him a start but we need to get back to what works best & gets us points. With lallana & Antonio starting we are way to open 4 4 2 & the full backs get no protection that then pulls the centre backs out of position & we are in trouble to get the best out of lallana & to be able to forgive him his defensive play we need a holding midfielder. Having a player like Wotton breaking up play also give Spiderman a bit more time on the ball to pull the strings. Pardew is no mug if we can see it so can he we will be 4 5 1 Saturday

Cant say I agree with the OP as many have pointed out on this & other threads we created enough chances to win the game. Brighton played very very well we had a off day sh1t happens we have no right to beat anybody in this league we need to win that right they were better than us on the day. I think the team have now had a wake up call and think we will be back to winning ways 1 defeat should not generate posts like this one we have come a long way & AP has done a great job. I trust that AP will sort this blip out I would like to see us start 4 5 1 against Norwich & get back to winning ways we are a very good side in this league & even with a below par performance still look like scoring wasnt till the 3rd went in that I started to think we would lose up till then I thought we would go on & win it. A bit of perspective & paitence is required 1 loss dont make us a bad sode just as 7 wins dont mean we will win the league.I have been very impressed with how much we have improved under AP he is doing a great job

Me to 4 5 1 is the way to start you can change to 4 4 2 when required and make a impact on the game if we had sone this yesterday different result for me. Brighton were quick out of the traps & into us all over the pitch if we weathered the storm we could of played our way into the game & changed to 4 4 2 when they tried & spaces strated to open up. To be fair Brighton played very very well everyone of them was well up for it quicker to the ball all over the pitch.We also had some great chances there keeper made some very good saves but Brighton deserved the win it should have been 4-3 to them. Lloyd James is not a right back the sooner Murty is back the better Harding didnt have his best game either. I hope Pardew gets into the boys & we start 4 5 1 against Norwich and we get back to winning ways COYS

I am going cant wait we are playing with so much confidence & the team have the added incentive of if we win could be out of the relegation zone. Dont know about the best team but we are a very good team winning is a great habit to get into massive amount of confidence we are on the up. Well done to AP he has brought some great players in and is getting the best out of players like Lallana & Spiderman. The future is bright in Red & White cant wait for Sunday if we get out of the relegation zone it is going off we will start to get 25000 + who knows we might make the play offs I am loving being a Saint.

I must have been more Badgered than I thought last nite reading some posts on here saying that we didnt play well I must have watching a different game cause I thought we were brilliant. I thought after the 1st half we should have been 4 up with better finishing Charlton hardly got in our half we should have had two pens hit the post the build up for the second goal was breathtaking. We battered the team that is 2nd in our league the stats at 1 point had us down for 13 shots against 1 for them. We are a very good side on the up COYS

The Blue Anchor at Brizzle was a good pub a few beers and a couple of games of connect 4 before the game but the surrounding area was very moody so the best so far Coach & Horses at Orient

I think I am going to this I havent done Northampton so it is 1 to tick of the list I have really enjoyed our last two away days Orient & Brizzle cant wait how sad am I

It will feel great if we can get out of the bottom 4 & stay out & push on would be another big confidence boost for the team what a incentive for the team & fans hope we get a big crowd & the boys deliver 3 points. It wasnt long ago we were hoping to be out of the relegation zone by xmas to do it by the end of November would be a fantastic achievement. COYS
