The question I asked Saturday was would we have had the same two home results if Pards had not been sacked off the back of a 4 0 away win the answer was no way. To say that his sacking has not affected the team is bull the last two games they have not had the right attitude no tempo not enough desire they havent played like a team pleased to be rid of a problem manager. The new appointment cant come quick enough fingers crossed we get the right man as this team needs a kick up the arse some inspiration to get the season back on track URGENTLY

I agree it is important for the fans to get behind the team I will be doing so as always I dont do booing never have however it is just as important for the team to give us a performance to cheer and get behind. It will be interesting to see the attitude of the players as they were not up for it Tuesday I hope we all are today. COYS !
-
I hope we do as Lambo must be carrying a injury or isnt match fit yet something is amiss connolly and Lambo both fit are top draw no question but connolly is always suspect to picking up a injury. I know we can and probably will get a loan or 2 for cover it would be mad not to but who will we get and who will make the decision ? We dont have any options from the bench for a out & out striker I hope Lambo & Connolly are going to be ok for the next 3 games

I agree with you also Pards signings have been very good it is all very well having money but you have to spend it on the right players he did. He also got the best out of the players and changed them into a team of winners, so far this season I thought we have been playing well great 1st half against Plymouth & Orient very good both halfs v Bolton excellent 4 0 away win at Brizzle. Other than turning our chances into goals we were not far away the results may not have been what we wanted but having got off the mark at Brizzle who know's ? Maybe we were off & running. I will be very interested to see Saturday the attitude of the players as on Tuesday it didnt look like they were glad to see the back of a problem manager quite the reverse I got the impression they were as fed up as the fans. What is done is done Pards isnt coming back but we need an appointment to lift and inspire the team and the fans and get the pre season optimism back and quickly or we are not going to have the stella season we have been expecting
-
This sums it up for me there have been things NC has done I didnt like but I didnt get mad until Pards got sacked I have let the other stuff slide I dont think we will learn the truth but I hope we do. We need stability if we are going to achieve Marcus dream I hope the new manager will be the man to take us to the Prem not some s h 1 t e journeyman has been the media have us linked with. Other than MON or Mowbery I dont see anybody on the list as good as Pardew.
-
I would change my mind about NC and forgive him for sacking Pards MON would be a fantastic manager for us I can't see it happening but would be a happy camper if it comes off
-
I am very worried about NC, sacking Pards now is a mistake if he did it at the end of last season fair enough I wouldnt have agreed with it but I could have understood it. Taking on Murdoch is mad for a 3rd division club wether he has a point or not the press ban is adversly affecting our club he should be building bridges and getting the positives of SFC in the media not fighting them all I cant see an end to it who will back down ? I have heard from reliable sources that have 1st hand knowledge that he is horrible and nasty and not someone who will accept any opinion other than his own. The final nail in the coffin is at the 2nd game in Switzerland he was wearing a white suite a deck chair shirt loafers with no socks giving it Billy big potatoes enough said
-
YES I think he was good last season but now looks so slow and unfit he will be a liability this season we need to accept he is over the hill and shouldnt be in our starting 11. Give Martin the shirt he will devolp into a fantastic centre back paired with Fonte he is bound to make some mistakes due to lack of experiance but a much better option than Jaidi
-
I hope it's not Hart that would be a step backwards I am hearing Zola from a guy who works for Eastliegh fc he was given the nod from someone at st marys tried to put a bet on & the bookies wouldnt take the bet. Please feel free to take this with a pinch of salt just repeating what I was told I don't know what to believe at the moment. Maybe Hart is a smokescreen as the club must know the fans would not like that they announance Zola or whoever and we all say at least it's not Hart thank **** for that.
-
Good luck to Pards I liked him and thought he did a good job got most if not all transfers right won a trophy it is a shame to see him go I dont understand the thinking behind this decision. I think he can be proud of his record at Saints and hold his head high it will be interseting to see if the reason for his sacking is made public
-
I hope this is wrong but a friend of mine has been told that the manager will be the current manager of young boys sorry dont know his name. I dont know how strong this info is but he has been right before. I dont want a foriegn manager and I hope NC has a big name lined up but somehow I dont think so bad move sacking Pards we were going in the right direction. I am starting to worry that NC is Wupert in disguise hope not but it is looking that way
-
I don't think Antonio was the be all and end all but he could develop into a very good player, we need someone in that mould if they were better quality than him great he & Papa to some extent were great to throw on from the bench as they could change a game we dont have that at the moment there is no plan B. I like Pards the last thing I want to see is a change of manager we must have stability and be going in 1 direction as a club the top sides have managers that have been there for a long time United Everton Arsenal I want that for us. Pards is going to have to find a plan B it seems that teams are coming to St Marys to defend and get a point we are going to have to find a way round that.
-
I agree I think we have played well in places if were not creating chances I would be worried but we are should have won both games. We have been off the pace a bit but I was impressed at how we played against Bolton if we can play like that we will be back in the mix in no time. Last season -10 and a good awful start and we still would have finished 3rd it is a marathon not a sprint we will hit form soon on the eviedence v Bolton we could easily win 5 or 6 of the next seven games lets see where we are after 10 games then we might have a view on how we are going to do
-
I agree we start playing football and look good I think as frustrations creep in we have tended to go direct with a long ball in the hope we get a chance. Pards took Lambo off against Bolton so we didnt rely on a long ball and kept the ball on the deck so he is obviously aware of the problem. I have to say it isn't easy playing footbal through or round a team that have 10 men behind the ball. Maybe away we will be able to keep playing it on the deck for longer with teams that have to come out for more than just a bore draw and at home when we start taking the early chances we create it will be a more open game and we will have the chance to keep playing. I know I and others have been banging on about it but if we can get a Antonio type player with pace power and a direct goal threat we wont have to rely on long hopefull balls to break teams down when it hasn't happened for us. I can't agree that our team or Pards are just hoofball merchants we are a good footballing side.
-
Martin could well force his way into the side as lots have said Jaidi is slowing up (thought he did well last season) I have only seen Seabourne have 1 good game away to Exeter. Martin looks the real deal to me he is very young for centre back and will make mistakes but I think we have a very good player in the making I hope Pards rewards him with a start against Brizzle Rovers he deserves it.
-
I would be more worried if we were'nt creating the chances with the proven goal scorers we have in the side it will click. I agree that as a side we dont look fit enough and pre season was'nt as high tempo as it should have been maybe Pards was protecting the players a bit pre season? We need Antonio or some one like him we havent got the ability to change the shape of the game from the bench we are desperate for some genuine pace power someone who is direct and can cuase mayhem. I like the Oxy chamberlin looks like a good prospect but it is to much to ask for him to be the difference but I am sure he has a part to play this season.
-
Enjoyed the game thought we played well can consider ourselfs unlucky it was nice to see us play well and keep creating chances in both halfs. A lot more positives than negatives in this game we needed the game to help with fitness good run out against a decent robust side well done to Aaron Martin played well against Davis Klasnic & Elmander will do a lot for his confidence. Punch Lallana Spiderman & Fonte also played well. It was nice to see us play a prem team we played good football nice passing created chances and they didnt create that much against us, yes we lacked the killer final ball sometimes and should have taken at 2 of our chances but fair do's to Bolton they defended very well. I dont think we are far away from finding our form just keep playing & creating & the goals & wins will come, fair play to the fans last nite kept the faith and clapped the team off
-
I am looking forward to this game it will be nice to play a team that have come to St Marys looking for a win could be a very good open game of football. With any luck Bolton will underestimate us play there reserves and we could win this I know they have some quality players but we are not expected to beat them so we can just have a go at them and see what happens

Southampton 1 - 1 Leyton Orient - Post match reaction
West End Saint replied to Baj's topic in The Saints
Good post I agree when the chances start going in everyone will think we are world beaters Frustrated it didnt happen particularly 2nd half Barnard was very unlucky and our best player on the day 1 concern though we have had teams create 2 chances against us and scored both times we need to sort that and we didnt look that fit 2nd half. We will come good no changes are neede just a little paitence UTS -
The copper was well out of order his attitude and manner was incitement in my book he was itching for someone to throw something or step out of line. I am not a yoof I am 42 and was in the Kingsland corner I dont get involved with any trouble and genrally dont have a problem with the Police but I wanted to throw something at him he was well out of order. I am getting fed up with the Football is handled by the police it is very heavey handed and seems to be being singled out
-
We have to get promoted if we dont it will see the end of Pards and wholesale changes to the squad. We need stability if we go up Pards will get a chance in the Championship if we are going to grow and progress stability is the key I want us to devolp a style of play and get the club going in 1 direction we will only get that if we get promoted. Look at Everton United Arsenal they have long term managers with a long term plan there youth teams play the way there 1st team play when a youngster makes the grade they slot in thats the sort of progress we need and you wont get it chopping & changing. For the good of SFC we must get promotion and it could really do with us going up as champions
-
I am glad to hear that new signings or loans are still on the agenda and we should see some new faces in the next couple of weeks I was starting to think there would be no more coming in until Jan. Pards signings since being Saints manager have been good I am happy to wait and see what happens in the next couple of weeks if we get a centre midfielder a wide player with pace and a big centre forward in I think our squad will be complete.
-
I take the point that some have made that we have spent a lot of money and we have a good squad with a very good starting 11 and should we get promoted we will need to spend again. However I believe we still need 3 players for this season I dont mind if they are loans the loans we had last year worked well but to contend with injuries suspensions ect we need a centre midfielder a big centre forward and a wide player with some pace the sooner we get these players in the better
-
Whilst I am gutted they won the case against the tax man and somehow look to have avoided a points deduction it seems that there still may be some justice. The owners wont take control until the window shuts they still need to sell players to meet there finance commitments so in a very tough league with a small and weak squad we can hope that they will struggle and get relegated. Fingers crossed the fishy few still get there karma

I hope this sells out if 50,000 + can make it to Wembley then 30,000 + should turn out as a mark of respect for the man that saved our club. There has been a lot of genuine sympathy for Markus I hope that we get a full house to show our thanks and respect for him it is the least we could do.
