West End Saint

Important game 3 points would be fantastic and give us a massive boost for Saturday come on Saints lets get this season started. I am going for 2.0 Saints Lambo to find his shooting boots COYS

It will be an interesting game Tartan 2 sides low on cinfidence and badly needing a win I think we need it more than you and we were a little better saturday could be 1 of those games were 1st goal wins it. I hope you do come all out for the win god knows we have struggled when we have to make all the play and break teams down Lallana is a massive miss for us and several of our players are still way off the pace have you got anybody out that you will miss ? I hope Holmes plays instead of Punch and anybody plays instead of Hammond but we are short of options in centre midfield. I always thought the games between us would be tight and important but I thought we would both be at the top fighting for the championship how wrong was I ? We have massively underperformed so far 3rd bottom WTF however we havent had much luck in front of goal so far when we do someone is going to get a hidding I dont think it will be Saturday though I am thinking a draw or 1 0 could go either way.

I thought we were better than the last 3 games no so much 1st half but definetly 2nd half we kept playing & passing rather than just hitting long hopeful balls if can keep doing that goals & points will come. Some players are still not at the races Punch had another bad game I like him when he is playing well but if it is not going our way he is a liability everything he does has to be a hollywood wish he would do the simple stuff well I am sure he thinks he is 3 times better than he actualy is. Hammond another poor game constantly giving the ball away what happened to the Deano of last season we need to take him out of the firing line and get a centre midfielder in on loan. On a positive note Seaborne who gets a lot of stick on here had a decent game so fair play to him Fonte had a good game it was good to see Barny back we have missed his engergy & running also fair play to Chambo for a young kid he gets stuck in. Lambo whilst still only a shadow of last season was better than he has been his touch was better and he was winning & fighting for the ball unlucky not to score.

Decent post you can see that Pardews sacking had a massive affect on the confidence of the team up until then whilst not at it they did show glimpses of last seasons form two good 1st half performance a decent performance against Bolton then a 4 0 away win. Since then we have been well below par I hope Adkins has had a chance to get into the players and build some confidence we havent become a bad side over pre season we just havent found our spark yet I am sure we will get it back wether it is soon enough to still have a go at promotion we will see.

Lallana is our best player the lad has always had fantastic skill & talent & last season he found a end product 20 goals from midfield is immense my god we are missing him at the moment. Morgan is quality not the finished product but great range of passing quality on the ball if he can devolp & improve he could well play in the prem he sometimes lacks concentration and drifts out of games but a great prospect some of the interplay between him & Lallana last season was Arsenal esq. Lambo is a quality finisher good enough for the Championship I can't wait for him to find is form I hope he gets back on track quickly. Barnard is good for this league I like his energy good honest hardworking very decent for league 1. Fonte is class not at his best just yet but a very good centre back that can play. Martin & Chambo are good prospects will interesting to see how they devolp both have done well when the came in I thought Martin V Bolton had a very good game.

Maybe Shurlock is onto something prehaps Pards intended 3 centre backs and wing backs in Richardson & Dickson he did go 3 at the back occasionaly when we were chasing a goal maybe he knew most teams would come to St Marys and defend. However I am sure Pards wanted to replace Papa or in Antonio's case resign him we will never know who if anyone he had lined up but I am sure he wanted more players in. Last season we were moving the ball quicker the interplay between Lallana & Morgan was really good the build up this season has been to slow and we were not as well prepared from pre season as would should have been. I thought the 1st 3 games whilst not good enough we were not to far away 1st half Plymouth & Orient we looked good good display all game V Bolton then a 4 0 away win. I dont care what anyone says Pards sacking has had a negative affect on the team confidence has gone and they are just going through the motions. Pards has gone and that is that I like Nigel Adkins think he can do a good job I hope he is the sort that can get into the players they are underpeforming and need a good bollocking we are also desperate for at least 3 loan signings to shake people out of there comfort zone.

How have we gone from the optimism before the season started to this 3rd bottom 4 straight defeats ? It beggars belief Lallana is going to be a big miss we have no creativity in the team with him injured Barnard is also proving to be a big miss I thought he started the season full of running looking sharp and was very unlucky against Orient. The rest of the side do not look at it a massive lack of confidence and not firing on all cylinders as others have pointed out we dont look fit. Last season we moved the ball quickly and created chance after chance and looked like scoring at the moment the build up is slow and ponderous hopefull crosses pass pass pass hoof what is that all about. I do think we miss Antonio and Papa not that they were the be all & end all but they were plan b when it didnt happen we have no depth & nothing different to bring on from the bench to change the game. We need as a urgently a centre midfielder to complement Morgan Hammond isnt doing it we need a pacey wide player that knows where the by line is and has the ability to get there and put a decent cross in & we need a striker and we need them now the team needs shacking up. Lambo has gone from the best in the league to a shadow of himself we need to provide him with chances I feel sure if he starts scoring he will start playing better and we will see the Lambo of last season. We have the starting 11 to win this league yes we need some additions but the team are UNDERPERFORMING it is time they got a kick up the arse and started showing they are as good as they think they are time they showed some fight some passion and gave us something to shout about. Come Nigel sort them out !

I hope the new manager hodoo works for us tonight it always seems to work against us when we come up against a team with a new manager. The last 3 games we have been so poor and not created many if any clear cut chances we could really do with a win or at least get a point or the pressure is really on for Saturdays game. Anybody know how many Norwich lost last season ? I have a feeling it wasn't many 5 or 6, having already lost 3 in the league if we dont turn it round promotion is going to be a big ask. Its a fair cop it was a waste of a ticket but at least some good came of it and I never have to take her again. You should qualify for some sort of medal spending that much time with your Mrs each to there own but it would do my head in I am very glad mine hates football and sport in genral.

My Mrs wanted to go to a game to see what all the fuss was about and why I spend so much time going to games and watching it on telly. So I begrudgingly took her to see us play Norwich we won 4 3 Camera with the last minute wonder goal winner 1 of the best games if not THE best game I have seen at St Marys and she still didnt get what it was all about. All I can say is thank f*ck for that now the question dosent come up and I go footy with my mates and all is well in my world.

I am not suggesting we buy a player whenever someone loses form however from the start of the season we have lacked genuine competition for places in centre midfield Morgan & Deano played very well last season but if 1 gets injured suspended or loses form like now what do we do ? I accept Guly needs a bit more time to adjust and as fans we can be critical to quickly I remember Bennett we had on loan from Reading was woeful for his first few games but then turned in some top performances and we were sorry to see him go but I can only go on what I see and right now I am not impressed I hope I eat my words and he ends up being brilliant. Even if Guly turns out to be good is he the centre midfielder we need at the moment I think it is a area we must have competion for places and decent cover that, and some pace & power wide & up front and we have the options we need. Our starting 11 when on form & confident are for me the best in league so if NA can get them at it we will start climbing the table but when they are not at it we havent got any depth of squad in the key areas highlighted I hope he changes that in the loan window.

Prior to Pards being sacked I thought we only needed two players a winger in the Antonio mould and a centre forward to cover for Lambo. Now I think at least three we are ok at the back for numbers and cover we have to get a wide player with pace and power and we need another decent centre forward we also need another centre midfielder the Hammond/Spiderman partnership is not working at the moment I think Morgan is a real talent but Hammond isnt doing it at the moment. I am yet to be impressed with Guly early days I know but so far I dont think he is the answer centre midfield we must start moving the ball quicker and making more of our possesion we are playing with no tempo centre midfield is the heartbeat of the team. I hope Adkins has his eye on a few loans the team could do with shacking up on paper we have a great starting 11 if he can get some confidence back into them and get some competition for places in we might get back on track

I am glad it is Adkins he has done a good job with Scunny 1 thing is for sure we neede to appoint someone as the last 3 performances have been poor the team have just been going through the motions. None of us have a crystal ball and cant say for sure if it will work out or not I happen to think it will I am glad we have a English manager with expirence of this league our 1st objective is promotion out of this division he has done twice so in my book he is well qualified. I hope we can all get behind him give him a chance and a bit of time after all we all want to see Saints doing well the start to the season couldnt really have gone any worse I hope Adkins is coming in at the right time and we can get on track.

He needs to give them a kick up the @rse the last 3 games we have been going through motions tippy tappy play no desire no tempo to our play massive lack of confidence belief & conviction. The good thing is the players are good enough so he has something to work with I hope he is a good motivator and can get the confidence and spark back in our team.

I have been critical of Cortese there have been things that I was not happy about Payment plan for 1 I now understand why that happened and can see the reasoning so fair play. The wall of silence and the supposed my way or the highway approach has fueled speculation that we have another meglomaniac in charge, nobody can be in any doubt that if the fans are informed of the reason for decisions he would be seen in a better light. I am not saying he has to be Mr nice guy and keep us informed of every thought he has, he clearly dosent like anything reported on until it is signed & sealed but when you hear nothing a lot of people will believe the worst sometimes with a little justification. The 1 thing I really don't understand is the fall out with the press every business needs good exposure in the media to get into a row where niether side will back down is not a smart move. He also hung the Echo out to dry over the speculation regarding Pards in the summer not that I have any love for the Echo but it seemed vindictive & contrived the Echo needed taking down a peg or two but it has gone to far the club needs the local press on side and vice versa. I hope my misgivings for NC are wrong and well wide of the mark if they are I will hold my hands up and say I was in the wrong for the sake of SFC I hope I am wrong time and a little more information will tell.

Each to there own but after the two games you mention whilst dissapointed with the result I came away thinking we weren't to far away and if we could play the whole game as we did thet two first half perforances we would be unstoppable.

At the start of the season I was very confident prehaps over confident right now I just dont Know. If we can sort the Manager quickly and I hope it is Adkins I think he can do well, we have the squad to get promoted how long it will take to get us playing and winning I don't know but it is very early days so it is far from over. My worry is how much if any discontent there is in the squad and how quick we can put it right we also need at least two players in on loan so we need a Manager who can identify and get the right players in on loan. The next 5 games are very important our record V Swindon is not good at the moment so I would be surprised if we can get a win there if we lose we really are playing catch up. Come on Saints we can still do it but time is against us sort it out FFS !

I am going to Swindon Saturday it will be interesting to see the fans reaction I hope it is positive we have to give the guy a chance to see what he can do. If it is to be Adkins he will have my full support obviously he is talented he has done a very good job with Scunny and the fans will need to get behind him and give the guy a chance. As many have said a lot of us were underwhelmed with Pards and lots thought Burly and Harry being big names would be great well they werent and Pards did well so who can tell. All I am interested in is Saints doing well and getting promoted we are in league 1 and this guy has been promtoted out of it twice so lets see what he can do. Other than MON which was not going to happen he is the best of the rest much prefer him to Brown or Dowie or Hart or even Keegan.

You have to say Adkins has done a great job at Scunny and is a up & coming Manager even the season they got relegated from the CCC they played very nice football he may well do a great job. Not many of us were over the moon when Pards was appointed but I think he did a good job I wish he was still in charge so who knows if it is Adkins it might well work out. I believe that NC is a control freak and wont want a bid name or someone he can't control so I think all the grandstand appointments may be off the mark. I wish he would just get on with it we need sorting out the last two performances have not been acceptable I dont mind us getting beat when we have put everything in like Plymouth & Bolton but I can't accept the Swindon & Rochdale performances and want it sorted.

What is going on I was hoping for some news today I thought it would be Brown or Adkins they seemed to be favorites yesterday now Keegan MON and Cantona have been mentioned has anybody got any info ? We need to sort this out and get a manager in place I want our season back on track what happened to the cake walk this was supposed to be SFC sort it out PLEASE.

I have just been told by a mate who has a friend that is a Taxi driver that he picked Phil Brown up from the Airport and dropped him at a Hotel I know a friend of a friends monkeys unle and all that but I think it is true my mate is not a WUM dosent go on th internet himself no reason for him to lie.
