I Have 2 Brighton tickets available at face value if anyone is interested icargill@pitter.co.uk

I can't believe how bad it is no doubt it needed an update but they have got it completely wrong we have been using the Dell Bar for years but we won't be back. It is now a soulless bistro not a place where fans can have a drink and bite to eat over priced lack of choice and nothing to do with our football club.

Good Post I compltely agree

I would like to see a change for next season, I have not been happy with Puel all season was not keen on the change of formation or the style of play. He has managed to cling on this season several times we have lost 3/4 games in a row and just as the pressure builds we have got a result that has bought him more time. It is fair to say that a significant number of supporters are not happy with him, there is some player unrest and for much of the season it has been poor to watch. The Saints fans I know are a fairly level headed lot and not one of them wants Puel next season

Get in tickets have arrived just need to arrange transport cannot wait COYS

I voted out I didn't like the new system from the start and have said so, thought we needed a striker in the summer definitely need one now yet he believes we don't. Not happy with the style of play so dull, I think we have got this appointment wrong
-
Mental we did not buy a striker in the summer Austin always likely to pick up an injury and J-Rod looked shot to me last season nothing I have seen has changed my mind. I think we need at least 2 strikers have to find some goals from somewhere
-
It looks like being a tough season for us 1. Man Utd 2. Man City 3. Chelsea 4. Arsenal 5. Liverpool 6. Spuds Saints to finish 14/15th Relegated West Brom Burnley & Hull
-
disappointed with the transfer window I think we needed at least one striker in I cannot see who is going to score 20 goals this season happy with the players we did get in Hodjbjerg looks good Redmond is a decent player Boafal from what I have seen looks good but is injured and going to ACON Not happy at the moment with the manager do not like the system and so far underwhelmed with him I think we will finish bottom half of the league hope for a cup run but cant see it I will make the most of Europe may be a while before we get another chance I think we are taking a gamble we have lost some big players the system is not working

Europa League 2016/2017 (Died 8/12/2016)
West End Saint replied to ScepticalStan's topic in The Saints
Whilst I did not travel to FC Midtjylland without a ticket there were spare tickets available in the away a friend who traveled with us picked up a ticket no problem If I cannot get a ticket it is what I will do pitch up get in the ground one way or another -
Decent post but what is worrying me is will we score enough goals playing this way & as you point out massive job for Romeu with no cover what is baffling me is why we have changed to this system when the variations on the previous system have worked so well
-
Most managers would want two players for one position I was under the impression Austin was an alternative to Pelle and at this moment Redmond is nowhere near a replacement for Mane. We have taken best part of 30 goals and replaced with a winger that may be turned in to a striker, massive gamble IMO
-
The fact we sold two strikers have not replaced them and are playing a system that we have not got the players for and the squad is not used too is baffling me. I keep hoping that something will happen that will make all become clear.
-
I have said on other threads I don't get the reason for using this system, we finished last season with the 2nd best form in the entire league and decided to halt that momentum and play a system we have not got the squad for I cannot see where the goals are going to come from playing this way, might get a draw or a 1-0 win hope we do but I believe we need to change system or bring in players or we will struggle this season.
-
It was not my intention to write the manager off after 1 game, however I was at the friendlies at home and we played the same way. It was a question of why the change when we do not seem to have the players for it Austin being the obvious one. In the 3 games I have seen we have dominated possession without creating many scoring opportunities, we get the ball wide but have nothing to cross too with the strikers split wide there is only ever one in the box and neither are particularly strong headers. Also seems a bit worrying losing one of the holding midfielders we have had two in front of the back four up to now and it made us hard to beat. I will be delighted if CP changes system to suite the opponent or the diamond works out well just baffled at the need for radical change without the players in place to suite.
-
I have no issue in having different systems available and changing them to suite our opponents but whilst very early days he seems set on 4_4-2 diamond. Bearing in mind our recent success why? the players we have do not suite the system particularly Austin, I cannot see where our goals are coming from playing this way.
-
This is one of the reasons I am baffled having established a way of playing through out the club and apparently having our next managerial target identified for continuity the change of system does not make any sense.
-
Am I missing something? I just don't understand why we have changed from 4-3-3 to the 4-4-2 diamond it does not seem to suite our players, I also do not understand why we have not re-invested in players when we are clearly short in key areas. You cannot deny that in recent years the club have made excellent decisions and appointments so why change something that was clearly working and producing results? Maybe there are some singings due in and all will become clear, but right now I cannot see where Austin fits in and I cannot fathom how we can lose 30 goals a season with Pelle and Mane leaving without replacements arriving.

The New Formation Thread : The Puel 4-4-2 Diamond
West End Saint replied to SuperSAINT's topic in The Saints
It will be interesting to see how it unfolds we are very tidy in possession and solid at the back, I wonder how we will get on when teams defend deep park the bus and negate our pace. I think we definitely need one more striker maybe two I just can't see J-Rod being the player he was, another number 10 type player is also a must to give us another option. -
We have looked solid at the back against the Spanish sides hardly conceding a chance so that looks good We lack a focal point for the attack we are constantly getting the ball wide in good positions and not crossing due to nothing to aim at which is a worry We have looked very tidy in possession just wonder if we will score enough goals
-
JWP is a class act seen him a number of times at away games top class with the kids and autograpgh hunters I have met him a few times and he really is a very nice lad He works so hard on his game and there is no doubt he will be an outstanding player I hope he stays with us for the long term he is captain material

I would swap Osvaldo for a new tea lady so getting a player that looks decent is a bonus still need 5 more in IMO great news getting rid of Osvaldo what an absolute tool that bloke is -
I would take a punt on Jordan Rhodes and Danny Ings both could do a good job a may well may well go to be top quality
