So if we buy Lowes 6% his gang would hold about 24% and who says that they would n't be approachable to working with the new regime. Its about unity and stability. Lowe is the main stumbling block in achieving this. With him out the way who would say what we can achieve but we need him gone. I don't hate him, don't care for him much either - but with him at the club we cannot move forward. Wilde has already shown that he is a man who is changable so he could also be persuaded to throw his votes behind the new board - As was shown yesterday there are two many people that are up for the wrong kind of fight to try and sort this mess out. So why not give it a go?

If you have tooth ache you don't have all your teeth pulled out to fix the problem - just the one that is rotton!

What with saints fan fighting saints fan in all parts of the staduim over the influence of one man? no not in my lifetime! Its a business plan - to come up with a viable way of unifying the club we love - in or out is the question?

.... What happened at St Marys yesterday was awful. Fans fighting fans - at our once great, happy little club. Whether you are for him or against him the division he has caused is now surely a rift to great to heal. We hear about protest but really and truly he is motivated by one thing and that is money. He is a business man and is only here to protect his investment, but with so much division and in the times of the credit crunch no one is going to touch us with a barge pole. So heres the plan - he only owns six percent, his wife thinks he is nuts for running this gauntlet again so we offer him a million for his shares - under the proviso he walks away and go's for good - we have ten thousand share holders so it would work out at £100 per season ticket. There would be no money up front but we could raise the cash through the season ticket renewals - it equates to a fiver a game - thats all to get rid of him! If he won't go we make it clear that we won't renew and we will take the action necessary. If he talks to his wife and his family and puts them first surely he would except. We then proxy the shares to Crouch/Mac and the rest - We talk to Michael Wilde and form a unified board of the directors that remain. We then channel our energy into the thing that is most important which is surviving in this league! We could make this work - sadly we can only move forward without him and this is a way to do it. Once the club is back on its feet and back where we belong - we can reclaim the money through ST discount or shares. The purpose of this is to get rid of RL and not to take over the club - but it would send the right message to potential investors.

Do you remember beatties stunner at stamford bridge? was it new years day?
-
... and next weeks lottery numbers are!...

Is there anyway of getting the list of every season ticket holder - then get them to sign a petition to say that they won't renew if Lowe is still in charge but will if there is a new board. We then sent this to Barclays and see what happens? Could just be done at the ground I guess?
-
Thats the chuckle brothers! I think they should be banned - set an example! The bloke next to me who is normally as quiet as a mouse got really incensed by them and said he would be happy to accomodate them - they seamed to clear off soon after .Looked like they only wanted to pick on old men and ladies and scare the kids! ... actually thought the one with tash looked like the guy out of frankie goes to hollywood!
-
If its the same two that were in the ~Itchen ... one looked like a centre half and the other...... well maybe a ball boy!
-
Keegan or shearer for me! Its not as daft as it sounds!....
-
Well it would need clarifying - but the conversation I had said it was down to him. Will phone the club to find out for sure. Thing is saying he 'usually gets it right ' is not to great for the man charged with looking after the safety of potentially 32 000 people! I'm affraid he's on my list of people that need replacing 1 RL (Just to devisive - never will have unity until he goes) 2 MW ( responsible for the new mess by chopping and changing his mind - must be French or something!) 3 David Luker (Free wheeling - no drive no vision) 4 JP (sorry nice bloke and all but... ) .... and now 5 Mark Long ( head up arse - not on the ball!) ...should make sense now!
-
With you here mate - we go into the game on the back of a good win at Barnsly, a good draw at home to reading, and we hardly disgraced ourselves against man utd. We support the team and the manager for the whole game - thats what we can do to help the predicament we are in. We need the spirit of Selhurst park (when we went there and got that win against wimbledon in the greatest of great escape seasons!) - We need to win tomorrow - but battering and picking on young players if it does n't go our way is not the way forward. They formulate the mainstay of the team for the rest of the season so totally deflating their confidence..... but as I said lets deal with that if the situation arises.
-
I'm affraid that responding to your emails quickly and sorting out your in dividual problems is n't really where he should be at. He is head of ticketing/marketing. Perhaps this is the guys problem (as demonstrated in the echo) .... just absolutely no grasp of the bigger picture. Going back to one of RLs famous quotes - this is a results driven industry. Luker must be judge on how many ticket he shifts so therefore he is hitting about 50% - is that really good enough? Answer NO. He should go - get fresh blood in - drive , vision and enthusiasm is needed, and it is needed NOW!

You Don't Know What You're Doing...

To me you only get one chance to sell the seat - I had this conversation with a hotel manager a few years ago. The commodity is the seat for the game - if you don't sell it - its gone. At the moment each game we have circa 15000 empty seats... and god knows how many inthe corporate. This probably suffering more than mos t with the businees melt down. Some of the boxes could be let out for childrens parties. dad/mum uncle (not the sit on the knee type!) Eight kids - little buffet afternoon at the football! not a £1000 quid but a hundred and fifty notes. With regard to seats I think at the moment they might as well give every STH a free ticket for every home game to bring a mate/kid. Imagine the extra revenue from Hot dogs/pies/pints. Maybe sell the season tickets for what £25/30 (remaining games this season)- at least the seat is n't empty and wasted. Also in the short term you might not make more money but you generate a better atmosphere, develope and attract new/lost support ..... and its warmer!! ... bundles of seats with a couple of extra to be used when you like....But what it shows is just how CLUELESS the current regime are - they must go!!! -
I've tried to give him the benefit of the doubt as some on here think he is ok but to me he is totally inept - no drive - no vision! listened to 909 the other day while driving to poole for some dog racing and they were talking about how the marketing guy at Norwich had been brilliant and done such a good job for them. He's now at MK Dons and I think he is doing quite well there. I would have liked to have read how Luker had knocked Lowe and wildes doors down to get the incentives and next years season tickets details sorted. He had a whole page of the echo to say what exactly - we need to get more people into the stadium - It would have been good if he had actually said here is the plan!!! It did n't take long to trot out the old we don't want to upset the season ticket holders - well I'm a STH and have been for donkeys years and there is ways to appease us. Free cup tickets (how it used to be in the old days) - vouchers for the shop, events, loyalty points... etc. But all we get is the same dull retoric. I think he should either get his finger out of his hole or go. I know little about marketing but I know they are making a complete cluster **** of it. GIVE ME STRENGTH!
-
All a bit haphazard though - would n't you agree? All very wishy washy. They are expecting to send out season ticket renewals in march? So there are not that many games at home between now and then - guessing that forms must be with printers what a few weeks before? Its just like everything no real plan.
-
Primarily the quote ..... we need to be more inventive as a club, thats my personal view, its not something we've discussed internally yet... So attendance's are way down on last season, we are in a financial mess, and no one has a stratergy on the way forward with regard to pricing the games for either the rest of this season or next season - how can Barclays have any confidence in this bunch of clowns? Even the experiment of reducing the prices for the forest game was fu+ked up by tying it into the Man utd cup game? Do any of them have a clue what they are doing. We needed to find out how many people would purely come to a championship game at that price - but how many of the extra tickets sold were people trying to get one for Man united? So far the only inventive thing done by messers and lowe and Wilde is the famous corner shutting episode! WE NEED HELP!

the things Rupert Lowe has said over the years
ooohTerryHurlock replied to Fitzhugh Fella's topic in The Saints
Mr Perrin I believe the only person who is naive would be RL himself. If the initial situation had been managed with some skill the fans would n't have been an issue - the fans enjoyed Hoddle being here - so if he had gone in a decent way the door would have been open - have you not heard of the saying ... don't burn your bridges.... Lowe Burnt his own with the 'north london yobbo' comments... the man (RL) is today, what he was ten years ago.... completely out of his depth as the chairman of a football club. All the years I have supported this club I know that we appreciate good propper football and that is what Hoddle gave us - so why would the fans not want him back. It came down to as ever the way the situation was managed - as ever Rupert made a complete sows cu?t of it. End of! I lost my naievety about the same time as my virginity - somewhere around 16.... I guess you are still waiting? -

.... Yes it is things like this that make him so inept as a Chairman - instead of letting Hoddle go on a hand shake and with goodwill - he drummed up all this hatred and bad feeling - and then tried to reintroduce Hoddle years down the line and wondered why the fans did n't want him back! - He leaves you speachless at times. -
Does anyone know if anyone is going from the club to the Thanks Giving - Just seams that when you read the article he has been a very loyal fan - (I know they can't do it for every one) but how many time s does a situation like this occur. He was on the way to game and collapsed and died on a street corner. Just seams like a couple of players or someone from the Board should show. Would be nice if Barry's hope s of an end to the division with in the club could come to fruition. Does anyone know if there is a collection or any donations? RIP BARRY - ...YOU WERE DEFINATELY IN THAT NUMBER!

Whats that big ****ing Silver thing in their trophy cabinet? I would rather have their record over the past two years! Big green eyes i have! -
His book is fantastic! Best football book ever read! Would n't mind a few honest pro s like him in our current squad. I like the bloke regardless of where and who he played for.
