Chamberlain was the best player on the pitch today - so why take him off?? Worst decision ever. Thought Punch was very in and out -some good touches but more miss than hit for me. Need someone to take responsibility at home. Seams teams have worked us out at home so perhaps we need to look at the formation. Maybe play three at the back and use harding more as a wing back. We just seam to be totally unable to break teams down at the moment. Plymouth and Rochdale have both done smash and grabs on us now and it happened on numerous occasions last year at home.

... Don't Fix it! Personally I feel AP would have done the job given the appropriate amount of time. It takes time to build and gel a team.... Just look at Man City. They have spunked millions on trying to buy the golden goose and two years in still have nothing to show for it. Pardew has built a good squad. The decision to remove him may will only be born out through the passage of time but I would really like a couple of good renditions of 'only one Alan Pardew' just to say thanks, if nothing else for the magical day out at wembley not six months ago. I won't be there tomorrow night but think it would be a nice gesture to show the affection with which he was held at the club. Thanks Alan and good luck for the future, you can leave here with your head held high and in the knowledge you have left us with a very good squad. Mr Cortese - the jury is out!
-
Like I said - he could n't then becase obviousily Marcus was happy with the job that AP was doing - ultimately it as ML's club - he's not here now so NC probably gets the final word
-
Why should he have done it pre season??? exactly?
-
.... saying he was ready for a new challenge!
-
He would n't do it then because Marcus was still here - not sure that giving Pardew the boot after three games this season was part of the five year plan..... Like AL said on the football league show on saturday - he had already said the BR game was ' a must win game'.... he knew the writting was on the wall.
-
It is well proven that teams that achieve success are loyal to there management - Man Utd and Arsenal have achieved so much because they allow time for teams to develop - We wallop Britol 4-0 and then sack the manager! - Sturrock all over again! I hope Mr Cortese et al know what they are about - It is quite funny that not two weeks after the Chairman passes over - when the club needs stability more than ever, we sack the manager. i'll never get our great club Very disappointed this morning in this news - AP was a good appointment - it will be interesting to see who comes in now. Phil Brown was on the telly last night.

They also have Drogba who probably needs one doctor full time, 1 part-time doctor, three physiotherapists and four masseurs!!! The other doctor sorts the rest of them out!!!

+1......... Are we going to haver afull time Vicar as well??
-
Why was he mis-guided?
-
Always brings a smile tomy face!!! - How bad was the first attempt but thanks to Leon we have a fantastic statue in place now to honour the great Ted Bates... well done Leon and thanks

This would be simply abhorrent. ... and why is Romsey Stu now Dave Benson Phillips???

I'm glad that we had Stokes (R.I.P) Paine and MLT as apposed to Maradonna ( a cheating Coke Head) or Best (An Alcoholic) and to me it is a BIG DEAL that the suites have been renamed. Legends are legends regardless how old you are, and from traditions and history you get your heritage and your pride. If we start forgeting the people like Paine and Stokes and MLT we might as well all just give up. Obviousily something went seriously wrong in your up bringing to come up with a warped view as the one posted!

As a shot stopper he is as good as any you listed. None stand out. Goalkeeping is an area where we are week as a nation. There is no No 1 keeper, so if he got a move to the premier league why wound n't he still have a shout?? i was n't a big fan of his when he arrived but he has developed and is as good as any England Keeper at the moment. IMO. Keepers Get better with age so why should n't some one have a punt on him?? Good luck to him I say. I think he would do ok. West Ham were very close to having a punt on him last year, and if anything he is a better keeper this year.
-
Surely Kelvin must have one eye on the England Jersey...... James is geting close to retirement and after him is there really anyone you would say is miles better than Kelvin?? He is a premiership quality keeper... a loyal, hardworking guy and I for one would wish him well if he had a go for it!!!

I agree with a lot of what Waddle has been banging on about except for the fact that he moaned that we did n't take any kids, but was the prime advocate in slating our Theo in saying that he 'did n't have a footballing brain'. Bearing in mind that Theo is only 21/22 and would have been the youngest player on the plane. The fact we had the oldest squad there was a 'big thing' in his (waddles) vehement tirade but was happy that Theo was left at home in preference to SWP or Lennon?.... as he only had pace to offer. I would have like Waddle to have offered to help develop Theo, as he (Walcoot) is one ot the best prospects we have at the moment...... in exchange MLT could have taught Dr Waddle (the football guru!) how to stick a ball away from twelve yards instead of banging it high, wide and hansom!!!!.... Theo should have gone and that is one of the main reason we were so ****e as we just did n't have any pure quality on the bench. -

Allardyce is even more shady than Harry.... and not as good.... and as for Southgate........ you must surely be on some kind of strong prescrition drug that has sent you over the edge.... I suggest you take a very long look in the mirror and question everything in your life! -

The decision to leave theo behind is the one that really baffles me. Instead of taking him we send him off on holiday and take shaun wright philips instead?? How is that developing our team for the future. Although we have been fantastically poor in this competition you cannot overlook the major impact of disallowing the lampard 'goal'. FIFA and more importantly blattter ned to have a real look at how they can help the officials in the middle to get these massive decisions right - to give them another option. Motson and co are talking a complete load of ******** when they say the fans would rather have the opportunity to 'debate' these decisions - I for one just want to know that the decisions that are being made are as correct as they possibly can be and if this means going to a tv replay then so be it.
