  1. 222/7 - Russell is gone, but I think the damage is done. Sarwan is good enough to see them home from here.
  2. England v WI England 243all out. Probably about a par score - need to get Gayle asap.
  3. Walsall commentary is working on Saints Player.
  4. I definately think the FA Cup champs should get the 4th place. CC Cup winners should get a Europa league place together with the 4th, 5th & 6th placed Premier League teams. Won't happen while the big 4 or 5 clubs have so much influence.
  5. Unfortunately not! Actually I rather liked the format. Although if they could remove the guy that says "15 second shot clock in operation" or "O'Brien you have beaten Robertson" it would improve it no end. He sounded like Darth Vader.
  6. Pretty close to the best team, although unless Collingwood scores some runs soon, I'd be tempted to bring in Shahzad or Yardy (depending on pitch/opponent etc). As it is, we would need to find 10 overs from part-time bowlers. I think Cook was unlucky not to make the squad - he could have done a job at the top of the order.
  7. He is playing for Hants right now v Canada. Hants need 91 from 12 overs with 9 wickets left.
  8. There's some belters on the short-list (not suprising for the 'goal of the year' I suppose!). If not the Northern Irish guy, it would be the Swedish guy or van Bronkhort's effort for me. Maybe the Japanese lady. Messi's goal is distinctly average in this company but will probably win as he is the most famous.
  9. I think thats what they will go with, although I would have been tempted to retain North. He is the best Aussie spinner I have seen in the series and can obviously bat a bit - even if he is bang out of form.
  10. You're right. McGrath was a great bowler - but the best in the world! Lillee for me.
  11. Or we wanted them to pay his wages over the summer?
  12. One of the best Tours in years. Would be nice if there was at least one other rider challenging for the GC. Menchov or Basso perhaps. I think one of the big 2 will crack over the next couple of days in the montains. Hoping for stage wins for Armstrong & Wiggins before the end and a couple more for Cavendish, altghough I expect that the Green jersey is out of reach now.
  13. One of my favourite events of the year also. Can't see much beyond Contador for the overall, although Andy Schleck will run him close. Would love to see Evans do well, but as usual I doubt he'll have much of a team to support him. Basso and Armstrong to feature in the top 5. Wiggins probably in the next group, with the likes of Menchov & Frank Schleck. Will be interesting to see if Cavendish can win the green jersey this time.
  14. I realise that there maybe an issue with people actually getting to the ground, but that aside I thought that we had undersoil heating?
  15. They have a free kick list on the same website. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1168803/THE-LIST-The-10-free-kick-kings-history.html MLT is only number 11 in that. Beckham is first. The one I really disagree with in the free kick list is Roberto Carlos - more often than not he seemed to miss the stand behind the goal let alone the goal itself!
  16. But we did get Simon Jones! Good signing, even if if he is only plays half the games. http://www.cricinfo.com/england/content/current/story/427421.html
  17. Not the best or the worst in the current England one-day side. A far better bet with bat, ball and in the field than Bresnan for example. Bowls pretty quick, ok in the closing overs, and capable of giving it a biff with the bat at the start or finish of the innings. I'd stick with him, if used correctly he could be a real asset.
  18. Too many weak or average players. I don't think Bresnan is ant better than Dimi at batting, bowling or fielding! With Flintoff out of the side, Harmison not being bothered and Anderson blowing hot and cold, they have no serious firepower or wicket takers. Sidebottom is a medium-paced bowler who is sometimes OK in English conditions and slow in the field as well. How many of the England side yesterday would make it into yesterday's Aussie side - Strauss and maybe Swann and Prior.
  19. First time at the Rosebowl tomorrow with a young relative. Do they still let you take a bat and ball on the outfield during intervals?
  20. Pretty much spot on that team. (Well) Before my time, but I would have had Compton instead of Pietersen. Laker must have been close to Underwood for the spinners berth.
  21. Great 1st & 3rd week - middle week was a bit tame/easy
  22. Kevin Lisbie
  23. Definately keep it. There will be away games, particularly at some of the smaller grounds in London (e.g. Leyton orient) where it will be difficult to get a ticket unless you are a ST holder or member.
