Says it all. I get why there is a toxic atmosphere at times, but yesterday's game in isolation wasn't worthy of the reaction. Disappointed not to win by 3 or 4, yes, disappointed with the performance?? Definitely not. 7 points from Leeds, Stoke and Rotherham is acceptable; 1 point at home to Rotherham isn't but the performance deserved better. The 4 games prior to Leeds were not hitting the levels we should be. Feels like we are progressing to me. Time to take a breath and go again in 2 weeks.

Bet they didn't get booed off at half time

Holy crap, one day a thread might start without it ending up being about RM. Rohl seemed to do a very good job for us, Ralph definitely looked lost without him. Wednesday shot themselves by allowing Moore to leave. Good luck Danny, you're going to need it.

Battling?? 3/10

We had enough good opportunities to bury Rotherham, even the most psychotic anti-Russell Southampton "fan" would recognise that and realise that not everything is the manager's fault (or maybe they wouldn't). The game could've easily finished 3-1 to us, it didn't, booing the team was frankly pantomine and ridiculous... oh yes it was.

1 point off the play offs. I had to check but it’s true.

The problem is “they’re not fine tuned machines” they rarely play without some knock or another, some knocks need managing more than others.

I haven't been on this thread since 23rd September, quite interesting reading it back. Anyway, delighted for Charlie in making the Argie squad. He was a key contributor in our performance at Leeds and was good enough at Stoke.

His distribution is as good as any keeper, you really are very lonely with your opinion on this aspect of his game.
-
Yep. Defence unchanged, Charles as CDM, Charlie or Stu and Flynn as CAMs, pace and trickery out wide from Sule and Edozie, Adam A as a false-ish 9.
-
Clearly not getting anywhere near the deflected cross either.

SaintsWeb myth… “possession for possession sake”.

Come on guys, all the Prof wants is champagne football straight after a piss poor run of results. Simples.
-
The bonus is that I'm not sure he is playing his strongest side just yet, but I think he's playing the best XI with what is at his disposal. Shea will soon cement his position as a holding midfielder, he looks a class act. Ross Stewart will (hopefully) be the 9 we don't currently have.

So you're looking for a winning formula (you can say algorithm, if you dare) and you want to see us going all out for more than 1 goal with the greater risk of conceding. Fuck me, who'd be a football manager. PS. Russell says that moon on a stick you asked for is in the post.

Does the pass complete stat take into account length of pass? Is there an expected pass complete stat for goalkeepers? (Sorry Whitey 😉 )

Wolf probably meant some of our fans hate Martin (even though I think hate is too strong a word)
-
Goals change matches or are you saying we should've played like it was 0-0?? Don't understand this viewpoint at all.
-
Bit harsh on both counts.

Russell is also a young manager, he, like many of our players are learning their craft. It is a results business so it’s good for him to be heading into the final game of this tranche with a couple of wins and the performances improving giving him some breathing space to kick on after this international break.
-
He had more to do in the Lids game for starters.
-
What’s not said enough about Steven Davis is how underrated he is / was. Rangers are a clusterfuck of a club at the moment.

I thought Mara was more effective tonight than Adams was on Saturday when given a similar task. I’m guessing Mara was chosen tonight off the back of Che’s performance against Lids.
