Doesn't this suggest that Mark Fry doesn't think that either deal is satisfactory to our creditors?
-
Can we trust the quality of journalism though? This is just another vortex of spin and half-truths to send people over the edge. We need to accept that we are powerless in this.

The next payment point hasn't been reached. May 21st is the next date of importance. 10 days for bids to get serious or the consequences are unthinkable.

Oi Arizona - you have missed my HCDAJFU: Jai Reason (released by Ipswich Town) as I stated earlier on this thread.

Another gem from Phil Connors: -
Its my understanding that in the event of a club going under, all player registrations return to the Football League effectively making them free agents. These cannot be sold as part of the liquidation process. The next couple of weeks are going to be tense.

Its irrelevant Weston as the football club wasn't able to gain enough points to stay up regardless of whether points deductions were enacted or not. Therefore, what applies to the start of next season is the following. Whether the club: The context has changed and therefore needs to be considered in light of that. This thread is about yesterday's battle.

HCDAJFU - I have been impressed with Jai Reason, a central midfielder playing at Cambridge United. He is on loan from Ipswich and is out of contract this summer.

Money is irrelevant, it's managers that matter

Two years as player-manager at Grimsby. They were a mid-table Division 2 team at the time. -
Or downplaying expectations about the financial clout of the consortium that does that over. I'm not expecting any spendthrift activity from a new owner and fully expect what playing assets we do have will be sold in order to restructure the squad - three or four old League One sweats to blend with the kids.
-
This is a flawed methodology in which to judge the retention of players. There are three key issues to consider: 1. size of the squad 2. wage bill (individually and collectively) 3. raising of capital (player sales) in order to rebalanced the squad 1. is pretty obvious. We need a tighter squad unit in order to contain costs. For example, having more than two professional keepers is a luxury in League 1. As we have two under contract for next season (Forecast & Poke), the obvious savings is to release Kelvin and Bialkowski. Such considerations need to be applied across the squad. 2. The average wage bill needs to be reduced. As we can't afford to pay the likes of Skacel, Rasiak & Saga, offering free transfers would be the quickest way of removing them from the wage-bill. Currently, these players are liabilities rather than assets. All high earners out of contract can only be offered significantly reduced terms if their services are to be retained. 3. There are a handful of younger players who could command fees. All should be considered as potential sales in order to generate funds to rebalance the squad and have a team able to be successful in League One. Regardless of who takes the club over, SFC has to prepare for life in League One.

FA to investigate a "reported missing £40m"
Stirchleysaint replied to Fitzhugh Fella's topic in The Saints
Its not a throwaway line. The paragraph clearly connects Lowe to the £40m. That's deliberate. Whether its a pile of horse dung is another matter. -
A clean start is needed as is obvious from this and many other threads. Roll on that new start please.
-
If that's true then its a disproportionate punishment don't you think? What? After our "on loan from the premiership" T-shirts? Tempting fate there I would suggest. I suggest that we approach the league with more respect. Not many glory hunters in the lower leagues.

Have we fallen into Dante's seventh circle of hell?

Embarrassing performance by Leon. The wheels fell off at the simple question: what apart from the poor financial performance of the football club caused the holding company to go into administration? It would also help if Mark Fry wasn't holding press conferences at SMS with SFC signage behind him talking about Football League decisions which affect the football club. You're really emphasising that separation between SLH and SFC there Mark... I really hope that Burnley put us out of our misery tomorrow and send us down. Having this played out in the media makes the club even more of a laughing stock.
-
True enough, Burnley will ensure that we'll be relegated the traditional way. All this chest-puffing is tedious to say the least. We are members of the Football League. The Football League has rules. If we don't accept the rules, what league are people suggesting we play in? Wessex?

League deduct 10 Points - Will apply in L1 Next Season
Stirchleysaint replied to Danny's topic in The Saints
Yep, that sums it up. Good work all involved with the football club. Burn what remaining bridge we had... Idiots. -
The potential of a deal isn't the same as making an offer. We see enough posters confused about expressions of interest in SLH and this is yet another example. As others have commented, it depended on the satisfactory conclusion of 3 months loan spells for Dyer and Robertson. As neither proved themselves satisfactory, there was no offer made to be turned down. The reality is that because we are currently up #### creek without a paddle, any perspective purchasers of our players will play hard-ball as Swansea are doing at present. Football is a bastion of capitalism in a raw tooth and claw state. Saints are the weak animal being hunted down by predators. You have all seen the David Attenborough films...
-
They're not bidders, merely expressions of interest unfortunately.

They wouldn't accept us, the Blue Square leagues operate a higher standard when it comes to finances. We'll be looking at the leagues below Blue Square South... -

Congratulations to the Chester WUM, a good wheeze. -
Patience people, patience. There's no point worrying about things you can't change. The most any of us on here could do is buy a ticket for the Euro lottery...
