  1. 6 games over three months the last of which was over six months ago.
  2. I didn't mean we were near relegation but that teams have proven time and time again that a good cup run of a handful of games is not necessarily representative of their overall 'form'. A lot of credence is attached to our EFL cup run, maybe rightly so. Maybe not. A couple of things have frustrated me with Puel. Firstly, his grossly exaggerated rotation system to cope with a total extra of 6 Europa games over a near 3 month period. Secondly, that since we have been free of the onerous demands of Europa and in conjunction with having had extra time to impart his tactics and brand we have seen no real trend in improvement in either performances or results. To me he's just a very average manager who I'm completely ambivalent towards. But I do think we could do better and I think even with the squad we have we should be playing better than we are.
  3. You've missed out your number 1 reason from yesterday that the SFC fan base is largely racist against the French. The one you made up and then tried to dig yourself out of.
  4. It would be a combination of results plus performance but I can't see anything changing dramatically at this late stage when he's had a whole season to make his mark. Question back to you. I'm intrigued as to your level of vehement support of Claude that is pretty much unique on the forum, bar maybe one other. It seems beyond that of a run-of-the-mill fan to so vocally support a manager who, on the face of it, has produced very average results and performances over the course of the season. I accept the EFL argument although we've seen plenty of poorly performing clubs reach cup finals over the years with several of those also being relegated, or very close to it, the same season.
  5. That ranks right up there with 'the dog ate my homework Sir'
  6. It all comes down to definition I guess. Looking at this seasons additions then we have: Pied at 28 so not a young future player, won't turn a profit. Manola is 25 and has already played for several of Italy's top clubs and is an international. If he continues to perform however I can see him turning a profit so that would fit your model. Boufal probably comes into your category. Redmond was signed by Les before Puel became our manager. Caceras at 30 and clearly a panic buy. Definitely not one for the future. So it looks like only Boufal, and maybe Manola, really falls into that group of 'for the future'. Maybe I missed someone.
  7. That's not being clearer. That's completely changing your story. If you're going to make something up at least stick with it.
  8. Are you just making things up now?
  9. Kevin Phillips gave some interesting insight to how Ranieri operated.
  10. What has his nationality got to do with it?
  11. Long has 5 this year. A busted flush too then.
  12. Both teams will do well to get nil.
  13. He's been inconsistent at Liverpool? More than any other player of that ilk? Really? Double player of the year.
  14. Don't forget Vegard Forren
  15. That trend certainly stopped this year leaving us with our 3rd/4th/5th or whatever you rank them as as our starting two.
  16. We'll probably eclipse the 8-0 spanking of Sunderland. Watch out Arsenal.
  17. Claus was day dreaming too when Henry ran past him in the first minute that's for sure.
  18. Our last two managers have 'got rid' of us. Not us getting rid of them.

    Puel in

Or we don't have the demand for our current squad that we've had in the past. Adam Blackmore has as good a knowledge of the inside of SFC as anyone and he has reported that on multiple occasions this season both Bertrand and Redmond have had fall outs with Puel.
  20. That was beyond dire. Absolute dross.
  21. Puel or J-Rod?
  22. Coleman's going to be out for a while so I guess that's where the interest comes from. Poor Everton fans don't know what they might be getting.
  23. PEH was having a scan at the Wessex Nuffield on Tuesday evening.
