WGS' last season with us was awful in just about all areas.

Yes you've posted that elsewhere and it didn't stack up then either. Of course it's subjective but you could argue we have replaced like-for-like but the bottom line is they haven't been of the same quality. For Pelle you have (eventually) Carillo. For Vic we already had Romeu. For Virgil you have Hoedt and Vestergaard. For Mane you had Boufal. Largely similar types of player just cr@p.

And therein lies the problem. We have issues throughout every element of the club. We have systemic problems not isolated fixable problems.

Thank God they've got no one else to come in and replace him.

Drop PEH and replace with Gunn (as well as McCarthy).

Les, Ralph and Ross have been given fairly significant funding and support but the players they have brought in have not been up to the job. I won't bore you with the list but we have multiple players in the £15-£20M purchase price bracket that are either out on loan or not getting into the starting 11 as they haven't been good enough. How is that the owners fault?!

I have some sympathy for Hoedt. He tries but he’s just not good enough. He should never have been signed. It’s a club issue not the player. We have the worst pool of CB’s you could ever imagine.

I’d like to think he’d never wear a Saints shirt again. We’ve got some proper poor players not least Hoedt but you can’t fault his effort whereas Lemina is a disgrace.

It was quite clearly not the time or place for that pass.

The negative inertia has been building for some time. With the current ownership, structure and people in positions of influence it's going to be difficult to arrest that and turn it around. We are on a trend of decline.
