And of course you’re are spot on. It was the great goal that wasn’t quite. The opposition made the key pass.

Yes, a shame you’ve felt the need to post this sh1te on an otherwise positive vibe thread.

Kante wasn’t it? A shame that it takes the edge off a brilliantly worked team goal.

He was a mile better today than at Villa. The back four were a tight, compact and solid unit. Words you don’t normally associate with us. Cracking defensive performance and throughout the team. It was the pressing and closing down style we’ve been expecting and waiting for. Great job Ralph.

Don’t let stats get in the way of opinion please.

We don’t have the luxury of carrying players while they learn their trade. We’d be rock bottom without Ings’ goals. Maybe if / when we climb the table or Ings is out for whatever reason then there could be the time for Adams to find his feet and more importantly goal scoring touch. Until then he’ll have to work hard in training and maybe get a game with the U23s to get his confidence up and be ready when called upon. It’s a tough life but there you go.

Stephens has no pace and struggles to find Jan with a 5 yard pass more often than not. Quite why anyone would want him in midfield is a mystery. Maybe trying to shoe horn him in somewhere just for the sake of it?

Aston Villa 1 - 3 Saints - FT - Reactions and Christmas Cheer!

Villa were absolutely dire. Surely that can’t be for debate. Our defence won’t have an easier ride this season than what the opposition forwards offered. -
Apparently interested in loaning Chelsea’s 19 year old CB Marc Guehi https://apple.news/AkJDJQTVsQHSuEjleaUIkXQ

Agree with all your points. Having just watched the whole 90 mins on Sky Game of the Day I’m struggling with the Stephens love-in as well. I wonder if his admirers today actually saw the game. Whilst he played better than normal that’s a really low bar and plenty of mistakes that really kill his game and would have gone punished by pretty much every team other than the hapless Villans who were shocking. -
He’s said the same in the past, to the point of indicating they were going to happen but didn’t. Let’s hope the club support him this time.
-
They’re as bad as one another and the same goes for players right across the park. There’s a couple of exceptions of course but in general it’s like-for-like in every position and hence why changes of personnel within the squad hardly make any discernible difference. Perm any two CB’s from any equally poor pool of 5, any combination of midfielders or either keeper and it’s all much of a muchness.

...and can bring 15 players with him. Because if he can’t then there’s no point changing him.
-
If you think Romeu for Redmond was a bad decision then I really can’t help you. And I take it you saw what Adams did when he had a chance. That’s why he’s not on the pitch. At least be objective.
-
Romeu got some accolades tonight, the same player who was getting slagged off prior to his dropping. Our subs are no better than the 11 on the pitch and struggle to make an impact. Boufal has been injured. Armstrong injured. Bottom line is we have a squad of poor players and no manager is going to effectively change that unless he is supported by the club in the transfer windows. Like we have done with Danso and Adams. That’s the level of support Ralph gets!

Seemingly West Ham sycophants.
-
You’ve not been following them very long then.
-
There’s one thing you can’t blame him for, unless you are just making things up, is his work rate. I actually think his problem right now is he is trying too hard and he’s having a stinker.
-
The officials seem to be going out of their way to even up their first half performance.

Shame Long being Shame Long. Dear God.

I guess it was the irony of a post from someone sat on a computer in North America. Maybe.
-
Everyone, including Ralph, knew that but if you don’t have capable personnel to address it than WTF can you do?!
-
Don’t be too critical. He was marking a threatening piece of grass at the time.

Yes. HTH.
