It really irks to see a thread like this on a day where a bit of unity wouldn't go amiss and enjoying a much needed win but there you go. It could quite easily have been added to the existing thread on Cork in any case. Losing our best outfield player so far this season? yes I'd see that as a negative. He was not a centre half by choice either so comparing him to Size is not particularly relevant although of course he played in many positions which maybe indicates what JP thought of his importance to us. I'd rather have seen us not sign Gasmi / Pulis / Forecast etc etc and bung a few more bob towards Cork if that's what it needed to keep him. But we are where we are and let's hope we can build on this.

Yes a bit of an oxymoron I agree. KD made a great save just prior to our goal but I'll take a win whatever way it comes. Just think if we had a measley 4 home wins instead of 1..........
-
Listened to the same. Armstrong had KD as MOM closely followed by Holmes. He certainly felt we deserved the win. COYR.

With the exception of the odd post here and there this thread is akin to a bunch of kids arguing in a primary school playground. Painful to read.

Absolutely and I'm not trying to rubbish the guy before he even joins but on the face of it his credentials don't appear to be what we need right now. Time will tell.

Beggars can't be choosers but a 21 yr old who's had 5 clubs and a total of 12 career goals doesn't get me overly excited.

Molyneaux doesn't appeared to have received any OS coverage this week or get a mention in Jan's pre-match build-up article. Anyone have any updates on the fella?
-
According to Saga he's not played for two weeks but passed a fitness test (not 'match' fitness of course) on Monday and after 24 games of the full 90 minutes with Aalborg he's declared himself ready to go so don't think the above applies in this case.
-
Some mixed messages coming out of the OS regarding Saga. I agree he comes across very well in his interview however flipping over to Jan's article regarding the game he gives Saga a great build-up then say's 'I'm not sure if he'll be playing Saturday' (or words to that effect). Could be just the normal bluffing as has been pointed out. Let's wait and see I guess.

But then you have to make a decision on whether it's true or not

August 2009 - The aftermath of relegation and administration
Greenridge replied to Mole's topic in The Saints
I hope this is a typo or this post may rank as being the most ridiculous one ever to make it onto these pages -
Put it above the fireplace to keep the kids away.

and therein probably lies the answer Phil - a clean sweep but that is unlikely to happen in the short term.

John B pointed out that it was a genuine queston so that would appear to piddle on your little bonfire SunnyD. As I stated Davies was easily our best player during his time here so your point is? What is interesting is that your messiah has leaked details of player wages that directly point the finger at two of his closest allies in Jones and Wilde. A last throw of the dice it would appear.
-
Pointless dig. He was easily our best player in his time here and now playing in the Premier League. Strange that the release of these figures by the club has the finger pointing at Dave Jones and Michael Wilde. RL is obviously in a desperate position and clearly happy to throw his allies to the wolves in a bid to save his skin.

Nail on head. These numbers can have only come from the Club. The sad decline of our once proud club continues unabated. It's like a mouse in it's last lifeless moment being played with by some fat cat.

For whatever reason Saga was completely mis-managed by Burley only being used as a bit-part sub or the odd game here and there. Even then you could see he had something about him - the Polish national manager obviously thought so. He's not going to save us single-handedly and will need the support of the team in terms of personnel and strategy but he gives us a better chance than we've got just now. If, that is, he get's to play.
-
Was part of your fantasy that they played for Saints?
-
Thanks for your reply, I tend to agree with much of what you've said however I still think he's better than what we've got. I will add the caveat though and that being without service he's got no chance. Let's hope eh. 4-4-2 wouldn't hurt either.
-
Not sure the reason behind your flippant post Chez but I think it's hard to disagree that he's not better than what we've got. However unless he get's some service he won't score, simple. Let's hope he does get a run and bangs a few in, that's what we all want I'm sure.
-
If you mean unless he get's some decent service from the other 10 then I'm in full agreement. He is what we are missing though and that is a proven goalscorer but unless he's supplied with the ball neither he or Torres would make a great deal of difference. Fingers crossed.

Not forgetting that a number of our 'stars' would deem League 1 below them and leave....

Some light hearted relief at last. Keep 'em coming.....

Rudi: Too many youngsters playing and I want away
Greenridge replied to Big Ron fan's topic in The Saints
I imagine they relate to trying to offload Kelvin which fell through leaving us with 3 keepers.
