I think these are totally fair ratings, Paterson and Thomson are so poor and were awful in the last home game as well. I feel these two need to go out on loan as they offer us nothing at the moment. Patterson was so bad but was replaced by the equally poor Thomson. Patterson is a bit lazy and thinks making a hard tackle here and there is good enough, his control was awful today and is constantly offside. Making him easy to defend against. We are crying out for a winger which Thomson is however he can never beat his man and his crossing is very poor. Passing is rubbish and never makes a tackle when tracking back. Schniederlin looked clases when he came on and his passing was superb, his range of passing could help us unlocked defences especially if we play with 2 decent wingers who can get to the by line. Hopefully he can take corners as well. Hopefully Papa can make a hugh difference as will Jaidi attacking corners with a decent ball being put in the box. I also think we are desperate for a player like McLaggon to come back in with his pace and directness. We also miss Murty who offers great experience and natural width because although Thomas did well, he is not the most Natural player running forward with the ball at his feet. I really believe we are not far from being a decent team, the side needs tinkering are the moment to find the right balance.

Yeah and the fact Kenwyne went on strike!
-
I agree with this. Thought we looked good today although still lacked width. Lallana had a good game today but his corners were shocking in the first half. We defended really well but just fell deeper and deeper in the closing moments allowing them to get too many crosses in. Didn't think it was a penalty and the ref was generally shocking all game, worse ref seen in a long long time (Thats saying something!!). We need a forward and winger with pace because this is what we lack to open teams up. Saga did alright, not sure if he was offside for the goal that was disallowed. Patterson got stuck in and looked lively when he came on.
-
Looked really good tonight, Murty going off injured definetely a turning point. He was superb along with Saga, Lambert, Lallana and Lloyd James (Especially when he was in centre mid!). Murty gives us natural width as well as experience and being a natural full back and leader. We will miss him so hopefully he's not out for too long.
-
Would be a great siging but can't see this one considering how many games he played last season. We need a natural winger who has played 40+ games fits the bill but I'll believe it when I see it!
-
Totally agree Thomson is so not ready and was absolutely awful. People like Patterson and Thomson need to be loaned out to a fourth tier side to get experience, neither have impressed me so far with what I've seen of them both. There no doubt they both have the ability to be good players but need to play games and are not ready for our team due to the inexperience of the team and the situation we find ourselves in.
-
Yeah this is the other problem, we don't have a decent centre half along with any wingers apart from Holmes who isn't fancied.
-
Absolutely rubbish, worse than Huddersfield Saturday. Pardew didn't have a clue, 1 up front and the midfield offered no support. Set up for a 0-0 and even when they scored we never committed men forward. Lack of closing down all the time escpeically in their half. Lack of movement when we had the ball meant we had to hit long ball. Thomas is rubbish as is Lancashire and wotton. Midfield had no engine. Pardews comments on the OS just prove how blind he was, I think 3,000 of us their would have probably have changed it at half time at the latest. The fact he changed it with 10 mins to go was a joke. Swindon were poor but I thought both wingers looked good and were exactly what we lacked width, movement and pace. It is so depressing and I don't think we have a chance of a play off place. Were be lucky to stay up with the way were playing. I know its only 3 league games in but we haven't looked like winning 1 of them let alone scoring many goals or keeping a clean sheet.
-
What!!! I can't believe what he has said we were awful, Davis made 4 or 5 top class saves again and we never tested their keeper. He must have watched a different game, his game plan was ****e. 1 up front so isolated no one was ever around him. There were times when their keeper had the ball at his feet on a back pass and literally all of our side were in our half bar Lambert. Thomas and Lancashire were shocking, when I was speaking to a Swindon fan after the game and said Thomas cost us a £1m and is on £8k a week they could not believe it.
-
This post is brilliant so many stupid points, funniest post I've seen for a while! This league is poor we don't need to spend £5m, we are the first club to spend over £1m on a player in this league for 7 years. The bit on needing a new keeper is the icing on the cake, we have 4 keepers. And without doubt the best keeper in the league, and West Ham offered him a contract. God a hope I never have to sit next to you because you probably moan and most be so depressed!

This would be as unbalance a midfield we could field, not one of them is a ball winner. Mine would be: Melis - - Schniederlin - - Gillett -- Holmes / Mills I'd probably put Lallana in a free role behind Lambert.
-
We only need a few players, I reckon at least 1 or maybe 2 Centre Backs, right Winger/Midfielder and a pacy centre forward. The main problem is utilising our current squad because it really isn't that bad. People like Wotton and Schniederlin can't play together same as Rasiak and Lambert. The Squad needs to be fitter and that is obvious as the least 20 mins against Millwall and Huddersfield we were poor. I really liked the look of McLaggon when he played last season so would be a great option when he gets fit.
-
Just got back from the game and this is a fair summary, we were totally shocking. 0-0 at half time was totally undeserved as Davis made a couple of superb saves. Rasiak and Lambert are too similar and shouldn't be played together, if they do we have to play with out and out wingers and get the ball in the box......which we didn't at all. Lambert took more or less the only chance we created. The need for a new centre half is obvious, Perry was about the only decent outfield player in the first half, however struggled badly in the second half. Thomas was bad and god know why Burley paid £1m for him on £8k a week!! Our midfield were as shocking as the defence if not worse, supplied Rasiak and Lambert with nothing and rarely kept any noteable possession. Why play Wotton with Schniderlen? Which ever one plays (Schniderlin preferably) needs to play with someone who is a box to box player. I'm going to Swindon Tuesday but not really looking forward to it now!
-
I really rate Gillett and thought he was one of our better players last season, certainly made a difference when he was out injured. He has many qualities than Wotton lacks in the fact he is very mobile and can pass. Wotton is a holding midfielder and give Morgan more freedom so this would be my guess why he is preferred. Also has more physical presences than Gillett.

Don't tell me Wayne Thomas is going to be our new Darren Powell!!

It may be just me, but you seem a bit negative. I think you may have a problem with one person (ML) owning the club and with that he owns the assets. I think however the company is owned whether PLC or Ltd Company there will always be doubts on how best it should be run. Fortunately we have been brought / Saved by a billionaire and we should probably be grateful for the current financial stability. Hopefully he will invest (Although not too Stupidly like Pompey have) and we can go back where we belong and back to a well run club.
-
Also the other thing people have to look at is the wage bill as this has been unsustainable recently (Probably since Lowe left and Wilde & Co went spending mad hence administration) so I am guessing they would be investing here. Especially with Pardew and Davis signing a new contract. I know the arguement will be Davis will be on a lower wage but this would still be out of our reach if we were to live to our means this year. No matter what happens they will make no return on their investment over the long run so that is better than Lowe Straight away!

Thought Murty's looked decent when I've seen him and would sign him up. Played well today.
-
Fair Summary, we were very poor. Team was: --------------Poke------------- James--Perry--Lancashire--Mills Thomson--Wotton--Pulis--Gobern ----------Saga-----John--------- As said above Stern played quite well Saga looked dis-interested. Pulis and Wotton did the same job.....holding in front of defence (Neither did that too well!!). Mills was ok. Perry Solid as usual. Thomson and Gobern not involved although Gobern was better when he went in the centre of midfield. I usually like Poke but he was bad tonight especially dealing with crosses. Forecast I don't rate but didn't have much too do. Paterson was good tonight looked hungry when he came on.
-
I think this is a fair summary. Especially as I think Gillet, Davis and Perry are our most important players.
-
Sorry, Meant to say Prosinecki was there a few years before they got promoted
-
The Skates had Robert Posinecki as well for a season who was quality, I hate to say! Although he wasn't in the side that got promoted but was a few years later. Was he a friend of Milan's thats how they got him?

This is the crazy thing, no clubs shows Managers too much Loyalty these days but the same goes for Managers and Players. And People wonder why managers decide to leave for so call 'bigger clubs'. This is the sad state of English Football these days, I really think that should a team be relegated with a manager who has achieved promotion the manager (within reason) should be given the chance to rebuilt.
-
I agree and I honestly think Tisdale is this person, we need a manager who is going to be here for the long ride not just one or two seasons, this obviously means the club needs the managers loyalty as well as the club being loyal to the manager but the manager most do a good job to start off with. Matinez had experience of lower league English football as he signed for Wigan in 1995. Very few Managers will succeed in the lower leagues of English football without the knowledge of it, this is why the next manager needs to be British or from British Football.

Jo Tessem on Trial next week (He's not really)(Actually he might be)
Saint Fen replied to Bourno's topic in The Saints
Yeah the Villa game at home thought Jakobsson was alright only to get injured when 2-0 up and replaced by Davenport who was truely shocking, we lost 3-2. How has Davenport had so many premiership sides, he is truely awful!
