  1. his brother. also went through the pompey academy.
  2. Rotherham and Shrewsbury. Just these two, as two more towards the 92
  3. Misses their game vs Swansea. Cheers FA! No help at all to our league campaign.
  4. https://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?57612-Drawing-a-Line#.WSgeCpF4Wf0 You know who you are. Any wonder so many regular posters have deserted this place!
  5. With Boxing Day falling on Dec 28th this year, who do you think we might play on Dec 26th? ;-)
  6. At this stage its bugger all to do with Clyne and all about what he's worth to Saints. We held Morgan to his contract and we should do the same with Clyne, unless any offer exceeds his value to us for another season. It's as simple as that.
  7. £10m or nothing in a years time? Surely Clyne is worth more than £10m to us next season? Have him in our side for a season then he goes for free. Oh well. He has a contract and £10m isn't value for us. What would he be worth to us next season? Maybe £20m prises him away, but even then I think he's worth that for having in our side. For me, we'd be mad to sell for less than £25m, given the value he gives us for a final year. It's not like we're strapped for cash and the TV money this year and next swamps these figures.
  8. OK. Fruedian slip - you know what was meant..... If Liverpool LOSE the FA Cup final to Reading, then we won't qualify as Reading will. Happy now?! :-/
  9. All correct, Redslo, with the exception of the bit here.... As I read it, both in the circular and the accompanying dcouments, if Liverpool win the FA Cup AND DON'T qualify for the Champions League (or Arsenal for that matter, although less likely) - then the runner up gets the place in the Europa League. It is very clear. "If the domestic cup winner qualified for the UCL, then the association shall enter the club that finishes the domestic league immediately below the club or clubs which qualify for the UEL, instead of the domestic cup runner up" No mention of 'if the domestic cup winner qualifes for the UEL.....' Semantics? Possibly. In reality, Liverpool could prevent us getting Europa League through 7th place, if they lose the FA Cup final to Reading and don't finish top 4!
  10. Saints total staff numbers - 282 Skates total staff numbers - 402 (includes 291 'casual staff' though!) Shocking figures from the skates though. Does the Fratton Park asset value sit in there, or is that owned and reported under Stuart Robinson's other company reports?
  11. This will probably come back to bite me, but Mark Ronson has QPR to get their first away points of the season with a 1-0 victory away over "notoriously difficult to beat" Stoke City. He's also a Chelsea fan, so what does he know about football ;-) (cue "QPR steal injury time winner" headlines on Sunday!)
  12. It could be that we need to catch City to get Champions League. If ManUtd or Spurs take the 4th spot and then Arsenal and Liverpool win their respective European competitions, they'll only be two CL places up for grabs via the league. (I stand to be corrected, if the UEFA rules now allow for more than 4 teams in the CL from one country?) :-/
  13. Of course, Vectis/Alpine. I recall you always saying that we should play Chambers as a CB and no-one was listening! If we HAD even seen a suggestion from Les or anyone else at the club that Chambers would be our first choice CB this season, you two would have been the first to day we'd gone barking mad and that we need to sign a proven CB.....
  14. They voted in their droves - 23 to 16, as far as I can tell! Programme 2 the clear winner, gaining 7 more votes! 59% to 41% - a veritable landslide!
  15. MoPs's son played in the U14s last season - so it could be him! If I was MoPo, i'd probably want him out of the academy too as it wouldn't be a great place to be for his development any more.
  16. Give it another season (or three) and maybe it'll spread that far! ;-) (although, it is sung at a controlled pace, so probably won't catch on with the Block 41ers!)
  17. The Woolston Ferry is sung every home game in Block 42 of the Northam - and it's been starting to spread around more and more people! It was an away game song too, but we don't get to so many of those anymore!
  18. Ruptured ACL is a tad worse than a tear, too! Much would depend on the method used to provide the fix. Hamstring tendon is common, but as stated eleswhere here that can lead to further complications in that area. Either way, the ACL op may have gone as well as anyone wanted and the recovery may be going swimmingly too - with any ACL reconstruction there is a minimum time for the repair to be fully resilient to the stresses and strains that this particular ligmament works under. That period is, from memory, around 3 months. After this, the body is more accepting of the repair and starts to treat the new material as if it were a real ACL. (I stand to be corrected, but the new ACL material would actually start to be transformed by those clever cells into a real ligament, rather than a tendon...) So, it's around the 3 month mark since the injury and therefore the early stages of risk have passed. That doesn't prevent many other possible risks to the fixed ACL, especially in the knee of a top athlete who wants to get back to the top of their contact sport. Still a long way to go for JRod, but he has all the advice/support and time he needs to get it right. As for a 5 year deal - I'll believe it when the OS reports it! If I choose not to believe the press over things I don't want to happen, why would I start to believe them over things I do want to happen!
  19. Hardcore me, Carlisle away followed by T20 Blast at the 'Rose' Bowl this evening! ;-)
  20. A leg stretcher for many of the U21s and U18s. Josh Sims subbed on in the 21st minute and subbed off again on 68. Just an early season work out, nothing to be read into it.
  21. Absolutely this - every time. Backing Mauricio! Pochettinos Red and White Army!
  22. Sorry to put a note in that could support the property developer, but I am aware of at least one sale of land that was due to complete at the end of last week. Another large contract was also due to be completed around the same time. He could be coming into some cash soon!
  23. A quick question for those who say we should get rid now..... Were you saying the same about Lallana 3/4 years ago, when thread after thread on here said that he "shouldn't wear the shirt again" - "he's not good enough for League 1" etc etc etc...?? I suspect many of you were.... Stability and strength of character is what builds successful football clubs. Constant changes - especially of the manager - leads to the power being transferred to the players and all the other negative things already mentioned here ..... large expensive squads etc Give NA this season and next - wherever we end up at the end of this year. Then we can start to build something for the future.
  24. Meant to include this link from Feb 2010 - another momentous time in the PTS! http://www.twohundredpercent.net/?p=4548
