I was planning to and still want to get my first ST this year...I can afford the price and quite happy with it but it is going to make it very very tight having to fork out almost £400 in one hit. Especially with things like car insurance coming out at same time of the year for me. I am now considering not getting ST where as up until 11pm tonight i was 100% getting one.

As i understand it yes. The only way around this seems to be going to the window in person before the day of the match. Which for a lot of people is not possible.

What i dont understand is they say they have added £2 to the price if you pay on the day to encourage people to book their tickets in advanced. But then they go and put an extra £3 "booking fee" on the price if you want to buy in advance :S seems strange to me

Ive just turned 21...do i have to pay Adult rate this year or could i get a young adult ST for this coming season? plus £3 booking fee for online and phone bookings on match day tickets.....bad move there i think.

Did anyone have the problem of a hole in their plastic pint glass in the Wellington? I got a pint got back to my mates to drink it then realised there was a trail all along the pub from where it was pouring out the bottom lol. Queue "theres a hole in my bucket dear......." lol

Who was the guy on the terrace that shouted "ALAN PARDEW....BLOODY GOOD JOB MATE!" he got himself a cheer from all the guys around us lol. The rovers fans we were drinking with all seemed friendly enough, apart from the one guy that spat on us while he was walking down the steps leaving early when we scored our 5th.

Right ok we are all heading for the Rising Sun on Gloucester Road. Speaking to all my Gas Head mates they say its the best bet for getting in on a match day. The Rising Sun is a scream pub so if you got a yellow card you get discounts. We will be there from 6

We might go down the Anchor on Gloucester Road. Mainly student pub that we hit before nights out. Fairly cheap. Not sure what its like on match days though. The rising sun will be more "neutral" but is more of a walk to the ground. Prob 20mins but best bet probably

I would personally get the train straight to FAW as it is the next stop on from Temple Meads and costs hardly anything more than getting off at Temple Meads. Only downside is that you have to walk the whole length of Filton Avenue. (or if your feeling lazy get the 70 heading back towards town, 5mins on the bus)

FAW is the closest but is definatly a good 25min walk. I would allow 30-35mins personally (maybe i walk slow? lol) I would expect a taxi would cost in the region of £12 from Temple Meads to the Mem. The number 70 first bus runs from town (rupert street) up Filton Avenue past the Memorial Stadium every 20mins. (will have UWE 70 on the front)

Which pubs are people thinking? We are going to hit our local in Fishponds then get bus to UWE SU for cheap drinks then head down Filton Avenue and Gloucester Road.

Seems we should have waited for the 8:15 then. The 7:48 was shocking

I totaly agree and that is what i made VERY clear to them. Should have stopped selling tickets a week ago or something after they had sold a certain amount, not just selling unlimited numbers I think they should have also offered people from Basingstoke, Woking etc a bus replacement service as they had no chance of getting on trains, even though they had already bought tickets. SWT knew that the trains were full before Southampton Central and so no chance of anyone getting on after central.

We were on the 7:48 from Totton and we had people Standing in the toilets just to get on. As people then couldnt move down the train as was packed, people were ****ing in the Waste Bins in the carriages. We got to Waterloo on time at 10:06 but i felt so ill after getting there. We were stood in the flexible conection between too carriages which was like being on a small boat in a storm for the 2 hours 20 to waterloo. Would not like to imagine how bad it would have been if the train had needed to stop in an emergency. SWT said send tickets back to request a refund if you feel their service wasnt as good as you would expect them to provide. They do however keep saying that it was Network Rail who wouldnt allow them to put on more trains. Apparently the engineering works up near woking were planned over 2 years ago so Network rail were not prepared to postpone.

My mate who is ST holder phoned up this morning because he is missing a couple tickets 1 of which is mine. They said that they still have thousands left that they havnt posted out yet. btw the 2 tickets i ordered in my name for my mates i go to games with arrived at 7:45 on last monday, so seems to definatly be ST people whos tickets not been sent.

I know lots of people that did this that couldnt make the game as the tickets were reduced in price. They booked tickets in the chaple but just didnt go to the game. Meant they were guarenteed Wembley tickets.

First time ever i was in the Chapel/Itchen corner today, (Normally in Northam or Itchen north) and was impressed with the noise that we made. As soon as the Northam could be heard everyone was joining in straight away. We even managed to start off stand up if you love the saints which was amazing! My mate was in the posh seats and she says some people up there were crying because of how loud the stadium was after our goal lol

Load of us all traveling down to St Marys from Bristol...train from temple meads was only £3 each way when we booked last week
