  1. I heard somewhere that the keeper is sometimes sent up as it can cause some confusion for the defence as his kit is a different colour. Whether anyone buys that logic or not is another matter..!
  2. x2 What do people expect the manager to say? 'We're crap, we've got no chance' or 'We're good enough to beat anyone on our day and if we work hard and play well we will stay up'?
  3. '.... truly a coup when Rupert Lowe, Southampton's visionary chairman broke the bank to bring him in from the premiership and mastermind their triumphant return to the top flight'.
  4. Just some thoughts on this, for what they're worth... Personally, I believe that if you want to make an impact then you need to go into the stadium and walk out as per your plan. If you just go to the ground and not enter then people can say it never happened. IF there are a significant amount of people - and off the top of my head I'd say at least a thousand, then I think it'd be pretty hard to write off that sort of spectacle. Especially if there are TV cameras in the ground to record it. And if there is booing by fans that want to stay? Well, that's not going to send a message of harmony and happy customers anybody, is it?
  5. Is it definitely waterlogged or has Wilde called it off because he's heard that Mickey is planning on kicking him in the nuts?
  6. Shocking. After you pulled up poor old nickH about his spelling of definitely as well...
  7. I think you're confusing Prost with Malcolm Elias, who went to Liverpool (unless you have heard something that wasn't in the media). Elias made a lot of noise that he was leaving after the way Lowe was treated. I'm sure the fact that it was the opportunity to head up Liverpool's academy had nothing to do with it. However I'd be surprised if there wasn't a decent amount of loyalty towards Lowe from the academy staff at that time.
  8. Could this be a new thread? Player sent off, time and offence? The way this season is going I reckon there could be sport in this! Oh and 2-1 Saints, tense last ten minutes.
  9. I know it's been posted on here a few times but just in case...
  10. Molyneux not suspended then? http://www.thefa.com/TheFA/Disciplinary/SuspensionLists/
  11. Exactly. They're not being pressed into a corner and they know it. They just don't want to pay what we want for him so are trying to push the blame onto SFC in order to make themselves look better to their fans. Considering the current situations at the two clubs, the idea that SFC could be leaning on them is kinda funny though.

  14. This discussion about who is doing the signing of players reminded me of the interview with on the BBC with Saeijs, where he mentioned Wotte a few times. To me it seemed like Wotte had a lot of say in the deal so was this a one off? http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_div_1/7808268.stm - Third iPlayer link down. I think we're clearly signing players by committee. I don't think that's a new thing (excepting the Wilde / execs / Crouch periods of control). What I do think is that we have less talent spotting capability on this committee now.
  15. Jim Hone is a clog lover? I don't get it.
  16. A random thought, but if Wilde, Crouch or someone new on the scene bought enough shares in the club to get voting control, is it legally possible for them to sell the football club and stadium etc. from the PLC to another company that they owned? Taking as read that it was all done in the open and at a fair (independantly audited) price, of course. Cue the people who actually KNOW about comapny law to tear this to shreds..!
  17. Thing is SaintRobbie (and you don't appear to see this) is that EVERYONE ONE HERE AGREES THAT THE CLUB NEEDS TO BE SOLD TO NEW OWNERS. Constantly repeating it like a child asking 'Are we there yet?' when the car is stuck in a traffic jam on a hot day is just annoying! It clearly isn't as simple as you make out. Crouch is on record saying he'd sell. Wilde (according to some on here, make of that what you will) wants out. Lowe apparently employed a dyslexic photocopier salesman to shill his shares to all and sundry last year. Yet nothing apart from a hedge fund that wouldn't buy the club outright and a local lawyer. Oh yeah, and a representative of one of the richest men in the world. Or was that Tommac?
  18. Thaksin Shinawatra seemed to get through... They might struggle with the proof of funds thing tho. Then again that fella down the road seemed to get past that as well...
  19. The home and away changing rooms are designed quite differently as a method of giving an advantage to the home team, home room more open, away room more cramped, something like that. There's a video somewhere on the Sky website with MTL doing a tour.

    Size interview

Interesting that in the BBC interview he twice mentions how Wotte spoke to him about bringing him over.
  21. Do you mean the account by Cork himself where he said that Southampton wanted him to stay? We didn't let him go, he (or Chelsea, see below) chose to - he was a loan player and out of contract, aint much more to add to that. As VectisSaint (and Alpine_Saint) say, Seijs is a replacement for Pearce, not Cork - we could easily have both in the team. So until we get a good midfield replacement then losing Cork DOES matter. saintwarwick, I think ALWAYS_SFC was responding to CB's comment about Watford paying more money and asking what that was based on. As in where did CB get that from. On that subject, if Watford WERE offering more money, how much say does the player have in the deal and how much does the parent club have? I ask because it seems to be the case that Chelsea are looking to recoup money and cut spending where they can at the moment.
  22. I don't think that idea would go down very well with the good folk of Eastleigh! They're still ****ed about renaming the airport!
  23. Anyone else noticed who they've signed... http://blueandamber.proboards48.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=55162
  24. Pekhart went and I assume Robertson is unavailable or gone as well.
  25. Be fair Offix. There is huge pressure on the Mancs not to slip up. And I can see that pressure lasting for much (if not all) of the first few minutes of the game...
