Surely if you want to get a true idea of how we are performing relative to the other teams in the same league, the only valid measure is to not count the deduction at all? After all, the deduction is a penalty not a reflection of performance...

I think it's the 'player comes in and is on fire' the is only 'very good' for a couple of games by which point people have an unrealistic expectation.

Good shout. I think that the sort of runs Papa tries to make mean that he's going to get caught offside or be incorrectly ruled offside a lot. It's frustrating to watch but when it comes off we have a good chance of scoring. It was his run that allowed him to set up Lambert's goal, which gave us the win. There was also a move in the first half where he nicked the ball from one of their lot on the edge of our box, played a cross field ball to Harding and was there to have a crack on goal at the end of the move. It looked like he should have done better with his attempt but he had still broken up a Wycombe attack and set us on the counter.

That's fine but if it's the day before the Norwich JPT tie and Lambert has a dodgy knee that could use a few days rest but might well be okay, do we play him or save him for the league game?

It depends whether you think promotion is still realistic this season (personally I do). Some people think it is not and so it is reasonable to wonder what they see as the priority this season. For example, trying to win the JPT and the benefits that could take into a promotion campaign next season.

I like this team. Waigo is more solid than Antonio and I'd prefer James to Wotton in the middle. However, I think that Pardew will either start with James on the right and either Connolly or Wotton depending on the formation.

Yep. Started with Lambert and Connolly, plus Antonio in for Papa.
