Apologies if it was not clear - that was my point..!
-
It might have been a fair comment if the other central midfielder (apparently someone was playing alongside James and then Schneiderlin) was having a storming game. Who was the other central midfielder? I can't remember him being mentioned...
-
I don't think he's ****e (although sometimes he has looked embarrassingly bad)! I thought I read somewhere on here that he might cause the skates some problems. I'm guessing that whoever wrote it was joking. He's got promise and I think his game is getting better - he took his goal against MK very well and I just don't believe he would have had the ability to do that earlier in the season. But why start him? Why not use him as a sub, let him learn the game more and get more out of Papa who is miles ahead of him in terms of technical ability and sense?
-
Nothing that I've seen. I have no idea why Antonio gets starts ahead of him - it plays to neither player's strengths.

Nope, that's another company now. Although I believe that company is in administration. This article has a bit more about it: http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/standard-sport/football/article-23792594-if-youve-got-a-heart-simon-jordan-quit-crystal-palace-pleads-ron-noades.do I've never had the impression that Noades was particularly benevolent to Palace, what with keeping hold of the stadium even after selling the club to Goldberg. Edit: On BBC now... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/c/crystal_palace/8481549.stm

You think right, four years. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/s/southampton/7477504.stm Does anyone know if it was Georges Prost who put recommended Morgan to us (or vice versa)?
-
I think Pardew will go 4-4-2 and stick Morgan in for Wotton and Barnard up top with the free kick taker. Oh, and it seems that Antonio gets the nod over Waigo every time now as well.
-
I'd love this to happen but Pardew appears to see replacing Mellis as more of a priority. As you say, it is the formation that makes the difference and at the moment Wotton appears to be the best player we have to play that role. However, spoiler or not, he really hinders our attacking play and is sometimes downright annoying to watch.
-
Or even better, when Morgan finishes his ban we could get rid of the bloody 4-4-2 altogether and play a system that suits our players again. Edit: Just seen Andy's post above. The one up front formation allowed Lallana, Morgan, Hammond and Papa to get forward and play off Lambert and some of the football we played was excellent. Plus we still had Plan B on the bench.

The same MK player (no7) shoved Lloyd in the back of the head / neck in that first half kerfluffle and didn't get cautioned...
-
I think Lowe also used O'Leary at Leeds (assistant who'd never been a manager before, excellent results while using a good amount of home grown players) as a successful example of promoting from within. (Bearing in mind that the real silliness at Leeds was still to come.)

Would you sign Papa Waigo N'Diaye on a permanent basis?
jam replied to Colinjb's topic in The Saints
If the price isn't silly then definitely sign him. He can play well in two positions and l think he'll get better with experience of this league. He also seems to have a pretty good attitude towards the game and the fans, something that I think the team can do with right now. -
Er no, it's pretty obvious that he's talking about all three of them by the way he wrote, "signed 3 players who are good enough or even too good to play in our league". So far we've signed two CBs where we've just lost one and will almost certainly lose another in the summer and a RB who will cover for the first choice who is injury prone. It's good that the rebuilding continues but it's not been that fantastic a week.

Excellent. I don't want the ball assistants getting c*cky if he has to fill in for Harding.

Pardew the Seducer - Jose Fonte: Why I had to leave Crystal Palace
jam replied to John B's topic in The Saints
Is it actually too much to ask that journalists get their facts right now? -
I think that you've struck on a common thought in that people perceive us as paying pretty much the same as we did when we were in the prem. Having a quick look at ticket prices one can see that most prem clubs charge a good £10 or more higher than us for tickets. As we've fallen down the league, our ticket prices haven't changed much. No doubt if we were still in the prem, tickets would be well above £30. I'd assume most fans are unaware of how expensive tickets for prem games generally are now and so are also unaware that our tickets are comparatively cheaper, reflecting our league standing.
-
And also pick and choose from lots of other clubs who will suddenly become interested if he is as god as all that. I'm assuming we are offering good wages as it is. Would NC and AP want to break any wage structure that we have and risk unsettling other players?
-
But if he turned us down today, why do you think he'd sign a deal next week?
-
It was Hone and the rest. I'm pretty sure we didn't get a sell on clause, at the time £6m seemed like good business. Probably because we thought the money would go towards a few players.
-
The whole team should have been substituted at half time against Torquay.
-
I think Papa is certainly the better footballer but it is pleasing to see Antonio getting better as he plays. His all round game is certainly better and experience will only do him good. It's just frustrating as he seems to make errors that Papa simply wouldn't. Glad we've got him to the end of the season. Shame the PR dept. spoiled it by over hyping it on Twitter.

Took me about 15 minutes. Gawd bless British Rail.

Simple to stop it. Wait until the ball goes into the away fans, hold onto it then lob it back on the pitch as soon as the game restarts. The ref'll soon revert to using one ball.
