Plymouth rag annoyed at SFC - non-SFC photographers refused entry to SMS

And he comes across as a complete arse for doing so. Sadly he was already established at the pinnacle of European football when he started his boycott so he's allowed to get away from it. -
No, it is in no way justified. If true then it is bullyboy tactics and an alarming glimpse of how the club is run. Would it be as funny if the people who organised the Lowe Out protests last season were being made unwelcome?
-
Are you talking about Daren_W's post? Because the subject of his post was clearly his perception of the attitude of posters on this board, not the actions of Cortese.
-
One can only assume that it takes a while to ramp up production from whatever Far East supplier they use. Judging by my very unscientifc wanderings aournd Southampton it does seem to have been a real success. And (assuming you haven't had the chance to see one yet) it does look really good, so hopefully worth the wait for you.
-
Can we have a Boxing Day sticky thread too?
-
Indeed AP might well have said something to Wally. Or Wally might have just been able to read the situation. A bit different to the assertion that unless Cortese said something himself it was never on the cards, no? Incidently I'd have had no problem if NC had binned Pardew.
-
Well that's of course how it would have happened. There's no way that the coaching staff would have the nous to know if the manager was living on borrowed time. None.

It appears that Nick Illingsworth has been refused a season ticket

Pardon me if I misread you post but it comes across like you are suggesting that because NC put SFC and Uncle Markus together, that he should have carte blanche to run the club back into the ground? -
I'd be surprised if they are banned as there were massive Daily Echo banners on the walls of the disabled areas on the Kingsland in the second half of last season.

Do you mean complex concepts like being able to criticise one or more decisions by the chairman of a football club while still supporting him and the club itself? -
No, this is not what he is implying, you're taking the quote out of context. He was talking about how he's 'hoping to bring in one or two players before we start', he then goes on to say that he's pretty confident we can start with the existing squad. In context he means that he wants the existing squad to be strengthened but if that doesn't happen then he's 'pretty confident' that the players we have now will be good enough to start the season with.
-
No, it says he is likely to be ruled out for around 3 months, hence the 'almost certainly'.
-
Because by the end of this season the novelty of League One football will have thoroughly worn off.
-
Can't make it. I'll look forward to reading about it - I'll be interesting to know if the new coach is in charge and how he has them playing.
-
When's this?
-
This is all reasonable, but a lot of us said the same thing after the play off season (although it appears that the club is in a totally different situation now). I'm not sure I agree that we will be signing people for cover only - we definitely need a central midfielder who is at least as good as Hammond and I feel that Pardew will be merciless if an opportunity comes along so sign someone who is better than even one of our 'star' players.
-
As yourself and others have said, getting him fit is the key. I think that he would fit well in a Pardew team and would be really pleased to see him get back on track.

The short notice season ticket renewal + scrapping the instalment issues are not petty issues to a lot of fans. It's frankly depressing that so many of our fans take such an 'I'm alright, Jack' point of view...
-
I wonder which Vasco colour scheme will be chosen for our away kit.

Did you do a simple update through iTunes? Some sites have recommended updating the software by Restoring the phone. What's the speed like on your phone now?
-
You got a 3G or 3GS? Looks like 3G users should avoid this update like the plague.
-
Also interesting that there seems to be a few on the 'don't care' side who live away from Southampton so probably completely unaffected by the situation.
-
I think SRS's issue is that the club's reasoning appears to be totally flawed...
