  1. cheers
  2. If it's anything like the one in Ikea then it'll reject your ticket and you'll end up looking like a ****.
  3. Can't see much arguing with that.
  4. Zoltan Liptak.
  5. Hollands pies.......
  6. I guess we'll get to see how good Eddie Howe was for them.
  7. Cut off noses and faces...
  8. I think that Crouch had to earn support from the fans but I also think that he gets cast as a long ball forward because of his size *****il people actually watch him). Fuller definitely got stick for coming from Portsmouth (as well as only costing £90k when we didn't sign Clinton Morrison for £4m)...
  9. Only if all factors are taken into account. People say that Lowe got us relegated (leave aside everything that happened post Wilde + co getting involved - because I don't think anyone wants to re-open that can of worms on this thread), some might argue that he did extremely well in putting off the inevitable for several years and putting a structure in place (the academy under Prost, Jennings and Elias), that might have put us in better stead for getting promoted again.
  10. Did they look like they could have used Chaplow?
  11. Yes, it would be totally impossible for the club to provide cards for employees to put in their windscreens or record their license plate numbers.
  12. I think the run after Christmas inflated expectations; not just the wins but the manner of them, which made us look very, very good. The slight wobble since, in light of how tight it is from second down and combined with the size of the task in overhauling teams and putting distance between us and the play-offs mean that even dropping two points can seem like a terrible result. Totally agree with how massively overanalysed. Combine that with the drama-queen tendency of some football fans and you get a strange kind of madness.
  13. Can blame the club totally for not giving people reasonable notice that they were doing so though.

    Adam or Alex ?

I'd have to say Lallana as we miss him so much when he is not in the team. At the moment Chambo is primarily a pacy winger, and those can be replaced. That said, it looks like Chambo is looking to raise his game and learn more tricks. If he can do this then it'll be really interesting to see just how good he can be.
  15. Cheers, didn't see that from where I was - I was watching the player and Adkins.
  16. And I'm sure he hates every moment.
  17. I think he was a more intelligent player than was obvious. He worked hard and tackled when playing wide on the right and was able to pass the ball around. I think he had far more vision / awareness than Puncheon for example.
  18. Well that ain't gonna happen! People were jeering Guly a couple of months ago, should Adkins leave him out?
  19. In fairness, a lot of Pardew's buys weren't rocket science; we need a striker - lets get the top striker in the division. We need a couple of centre backs - out of contract former Premiership player, and raid a championship club that's desperate for cash. We need a centre midfielder - how about the captain of that team that just stuffed Norwich? Our weaknesses were so obvious last season that anyone should have been able to identify transfer targets. That said, I'd say that Harding was a cracking pick and Connolly looked a find (although Pardew already had a connection with him). What I'd definitely credit Pardew with, however, is the ability to (along with the money and the fact that we're a massive club in this division) persuade those players to come here (and possibly Lallana to stay).
  20. I could hear the Northam's reaction to N'Guessan from the Itchen South (although there were plenty around me and in the Chapel doing the same thing). Anyone who says it can't be heard on the pitch is kidding themselves. And (as per my post on the Adkins interview fred), the manager could hear it too.
  21. You can jeer as much as you like if it makes you feel better. Don't kid yourself that you're somehow helping the team when you do so tho.
  22. I listened to the interview and it was obvious he was sending a message to the fans. In fact he usually says something about how it benefits the team when the support is good. It also seemed pretty obvious in the way Adkins greeted the player when he came off that he (Adkins) was aware of the crowd reaction.
  23. So they are winning just about every game. Or at least enough to see them at the top of the table. Clichés become so because people are too lazy to think of actual things to say so just parrot stuff out in order to sound knowledgeable. Football pundits are amongst the worst for this because you have semi-literate numskulls parachuted into a job that expects some ability to communicate using words and ideas. In the case of this beauty, does that mean that Barcelona are not a good team as they play well and win?
  24. No, that's just a pundits' cliche. The sign of a good team is play and win just about every game - that's what Brighton and Manchester United are doing.
  25. I think swipe cards have been mentioned and were discussed on one of the 'Cortese dinner' freds. IIRC the cost mentioned for bringing in a system seemed surprisingly high. Personally I can't help suspecting that the'll hold off announcing ticket prices for next season until they know what division we're playing in so they can set (increase) prices accordingly.
