I dunno. I'd take 3rd place and a Wembley final win if it was offered..!

in Burley's defence we were pretty desperate. If it wasn't Wright we'd have had to have played Vignal, Skacel or maybe Ostlund instead... cheapshot>

About a million before tax, minus agent fees, insurance and whatever, take 45% or so off for the tax and you've got enough for a nice house.

It's just an opportunity to have a go, whether it's reasonable or not. A bit like this thread, really.

Interesting that you blame Lowe for the club not keeping hold of Bale.
-
Interesting. I'd suggest Lambert fits that bill far more than Adam.

I agree about how good it would have been to see a bit more of him but I can't help think that this is better for the club. Partly as I always felt that he wouldn't stick around for long but also because I think he was always going to get all the attention this season - both on and off the field. Hopefully teams will see us as a weakened force for his departure while we will be able to bring in a couple or three players that will really strengthen us in depth...

Minimum wage, investing in schools and hospitals. I don't know what they're thinking.

Too often the satire goes unnoticed amongst the stupidity...

Maybe if you'd read the post directly above his things would be a little clearer for you both...

That ice wine was something else. I thought it'd be disgusting.

Algonquin Provincial Park is pretty special. It's 3-4 hours north of Toronto but the drive is alright. Went there a couple of years ago and stayed in a cabin by a lake. Was pretty nice. http://www.algonquinpark.on.ca/

See? No one goes Tory out of choice

I don't know much about Man City and care even less. But if he's making questionable decisions then they should do. I'm not sure of the relevance of being thankful for bringing success to the club. You could make pretty much the same argument about match day and reaction threads. Strange that one is a perfectly fine and the other gets people trying to stifle all debate.

It's a private company that's being expected to live within its means not be bankrolled by some benevolent billionaires. A large part the club's means come from the matchday customer so it's perfectly fair to question what the increased costs in supporting the club are being spent on.
-
I think the point here is that it isn't a private matter of the Liebherrs being happy to pay Cortese whatever they do as the club is supposed to be being run within its means. So part of the reason - maybe a small part - of all these extra costs in supporting the club is to pay one of the directors a very healthy wage. For that reason it's entirely fair to question the amount he's getting.

Quite. 'Lazy' just seems like an easy thing to throw at players who have bad games or are out of form / fitness...

Seems like the system is running through the squad (with the exception of 11 and 13). Right backs at 2, 12 and 22; Left backs at 3 and 23, Centre backs at 6, 15, 16 and 25. Doble, a striker is 29. Makes it more interesting the 5 and 19 have been left available, no?

Just seen that. Bit annoying as I couldn't get the online system to work yesterday.

Great find, thanks for sharing. That stream has lots of great photos. This one might interest the floating bridge fans on here... http://www.flickr.com/photos/robertfish/5133853656/in/pool-1093998@N21/

Would that be 110% compared to Pancake's last effort or 110% of what Pancake is capable of?

Posted before but interesting opinions on pre-season training in this article: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/9239342.stm

Saw that the other day. It's cracking.

In fairness the season tickets page is exactly hidden away.

The family might be looking to sell, as you suspect, but even if they are not NC has a responsibility to them and the club to investigate options in that respect. I'd be amazed if he wasn't. It does seem strange that an Italian banker wants to be involved in English football but if we take what he says in good faith then he sees Saints as a route into the Premierthingy and plenty of bigger fish than NC want to be involved in that...
