  1. I wonder if there are figures comparing shot/goal success from inside and outside the area. I'd imagine unsuccessful shots from the area and balls in are far less likely to result in us losing possession.
  2. I find it funny that Huddersfield's undefeated run (since playing us), is catching the imagination of the pundits, yet our run since then has been far more successful than theirs...
  3. Out of interest, do you know how many points Huddersfield have gained this calendar year? Hopefully well be able to scrape to 100 by the end of the year.
  4. Aren't beer queues against the anti-enjoyment at football stadium regulations?
  5. Peterborough's was good at well. The job Saints did in getting second place was absolutely tremendous and for people to suggest that we should have known all along that we'd go up is arrogant and disrespectful of the team's achievement.
  6. The very definition of knee jerk.
  7. The average fish has more legs than most of the rumours on here.

    Adkins

I thought the only reason Butterfield hasn't been in the starting eleven was because he's been injured?
  9. Save that thought. You might have tapped on a rich vein of threads to fill in the next close season / international break. How about this for starters? 'Loan signings who were were bad, and REALLY mad you mad or just made you swear and curse'...
  10. Are you being deliberately naughty? If memory serves it was Mike O'C that asked about the beer...
  11. If only there was a thread for the situation at Portsmouth...
  12. Having backpack/mobile sellers seems like a no-brainer, especially if we are selling bottled stuff. That said I wouldn't be surprised if it was vetoed under the pretence of health and safety or similar as there seems to be some element within the club that uses this as an excuse not to do things.
  13. Janine Self: "he looks like a history teacher". Oh the ironing... Surely this is a spoof?
  14. I can imagine. I was listening to FiveLive. Claridge + the other guy were laughing at the ineptitude. Incidently, Claridge was so pro-saints on the broadcast that you'd have thought that he worked for us... Not unfair at all, if in doubt he can take a second and look to signal advantage while he makes his mind up. There's no rule that says ref decisions have to be instant. In a situation like that play isn't going to go on for long without a stoppage so the ref can book the offender then.
  15. Overeact much? You've posted that article twice now suggesting it's proof that Pardew couldn't have had bad relations with staff here, when it's clearly nothing of the kind. It's perfectly possible that Pardew's attitude towards 'football people' on the coaching / fitness staff could be entirely different from non 'football people'. Especially if the latter were brought in without his blessing. He wouldn't be the first on that in that regard, not even at this club.
  16. Do you really think one of the coaches at Newcastle would be doing an interview to be anything less than 100% positive about the manager there?
  17. If you take away the goals, it would have been a draw...
  18. My personal favourite is the knocked through wall to allow Castle Way through. If I recall correctly it was done post war. I actually quite like Castle House though. Much better than that godawful eighties redbrick housing alongside Tudor House. I think the Castle was knocked down in the 17th or 18th Century and the hill flattened. I guess the Southampton '**** it' attitude to history has been around for quite a while...

    Nigel v 'arry

Not forgetting the fact that the previous managers had also spent huge amounts of money and he took over from Ramos whose tenure redefined the concept of underachievement...
  20. That's almost poetic.
  21. Football League Show highlights: http://www.bbc.co.uk/i/b015n48j/?t=10m22s (apologies if already posted)
  22. I struggle to think of anything more dull. Fareham must be some cultural mecca...
  23. Oh yes, I think I remember. It did read to me like NC coming across as rather paranoid at the least...
  24. Bigger testimonial gate.
  25. I think the point is that Nigel proved last season that his team can get results through the winter. In the twelve games we played last December, January and February we won seven, drew four and lost twice. Two points a game isn't struggling. This year we're against bigger clubs with better pitches. If we struggle over the winter it ain't going to be because of the weather.
