  1. Perfect choice of words. After watching the game yesterday, I was hoping that we were going to see a rapid appointment. I am glad it's Nigel. Everyone should now learn the words to 'Making Plans for Nigel' by my favourite band XTC (a band from Swindon, ironically). It would great to hear that sung by 30,000 Saints Fans.
  2. Seen it Dave. Did you go today ?
  3. Last minute decision to go today, but left Romsey at 1.10 and was outside the ground at 2.30pm. Nice sunny afternoon, all set for a Saints Victory in the face of adversity. Ooops, I forgot Swindon are our Bogey Team, and when you have the ball you have to use it well, and not just kick it up field hoping someone might get to it. In fairness, we arent that far away, but we havent got the options we had up front, like we did last season. A bit of luck, and a decent referee might have seen us come away with a draw or maybe a win today. Davis made a couple of good saves in the first half. His kicking was OK. Butterfield is not upto the job TBH. He is not quick enough, he's always getting caught out of position, and his distribution is not that good. Harding is a shadow of the player he was last year. Not getting forward as much, but was unlucky not to score, when he hit the bar. Fonte was pretty solid as was Aaron Martin, who was also unlucky not to score. Midfield is where it seems we have a bit of a problem. Morgan, played well enough, his passing is always good, but sometimes his corner taking is abysmal. Hammond was woeful today. Shouldnt be in the team, let alone captain. Oxlade-Chamberlain, has done OK, and today showed good awareness and speed, but only took on the fullback a couple of times today. It was a harsh free-kick that was given against him, that lead to the goal. Puncheon had an Ok day, but again took too many touches when a he should have passed the ball sooner. Was closed down very quickly though. Ricky & Connelly again did OK, but are lacking confidence to have a go. The Swindon keeper didnt make one save I can think of all day. We didnt work him at all. Subs - Mills came on for Puncheon, and Guly for Oxlade-Chamberlain. Mills did nothing, but Guly I think needs to start instead of Hammond. He is big and strong, and can pass the ball. Looking for the forwards run was something Hammond just cant do. Listened to Kelvin Davis on the Radio on the way home. Judging by his comments, I think the players need a manager who can come in, shake up the team a bit, and get us on our way again. Is Nigel Adkins the right man ? Judging by the way he has handled himself in the past week, and his comments about the Saints Managers Job, I'd like to think he is.
  4. Nice pic Dave.

  7. Fantastic Weekend, from start to finish. Out of the four I have been to, it has to be the best. Highlights - Thursday : Squeeze, Friday : Doves, Calvin Harris, Florence, Saturday : Bombay Bicycle Club, Crowded House, Orbital. Sunday : Local Natives, Spandau, Editors & James. Plus The Big Top after each nights acts had finished. Cant wait till next year.
  8. Still no sign of 32 tickets purchased one hour into the sale on the first day. Called the number, got the call centre in Devon. Duplicates organised to be collected from 9.30 onwards on Sunday. They suggested I called the club which I did. Young Lady answered, told me they were sent out between Monday & Friday of last week. I asked for my Service charge of £3 per ticket to be refunded, and she said half of it goes to Wembley, and the Club will NOT refund the balance of this. So thats it ! Tough Luck eh ? Still at least I have the pleasure of queuing up with hundreds of other Saints Fans on Sunday Morning, when I could be chilling out having a Pint in the Green Man with all my mates.
  9. Still no tickets and I have a lot of anxious mates texting me. Rang the number I booked the tickets from and spoke to the same guy I dealt with when I bought them an hour into the sale on the first day. Confirmed I had bought them, and the money has been taken, and gave me the 0845 number which we have to call, but is constanly engaged. This is now becoming a problem, because I have to get the tickets to everyone, if they come later in the week, if at all! The tickets should have been sent out a week earlier, and all this could have been avoided.
  10. I ordered 32 tickets on Day 1 at 10.00 am so we could sit together as a group. So much for getting through early. It makes absolutely no difference, because they still havent turned up. Eventually got through to the Box Office on the number given on Saturday afternoon. All the tickets have been sent out now, but come Tuesday morning, I think there are going to be a lot of disappointed people, because there will be some whose tickets have gone missing. Fingers crossed for Monday.
  11. Didnt think he was upto the standard we needed, but after that performance, Harding has to be worried. The bar has been raised, which can only be good for the team. Well Done Joseph Mills. Maybe he will become the third great player to play at left back with the surname Mills.
  12. Happy New Year from Romsey!!!!
  13. Hmm. Seen this happen somewhere else, cant think where though ?

  15. Are you for real, making comments like that ? Do you really think Begbies Traynor, would just look at any old piece of paper and go - "OK, that looks fine to me. You can buy this business."
