  1. Will say 1 positive ....our 2 deadline day signings look quality.
  2. I'd keep more of an open mind on Redmond......remember Puel has transformed players for good to amazing before....he obviously sees something as a coach that many fans don't, personally I think he's onto something....but needs coaching more into the role. Redmond is young enough to learn quickly though.
  3. Maybe it's just me, but does anyone else feel a bit let down by the transfer dealings of the last 2 summers. Whilst I'm massively thankful for all the Liebers efforts since taking over Southampton, it feels like the momentum built of the last few years has been lost. The vision lost and the passion for development of the club somewhat slowing & decreasing. This summers signings have in my opinion from what I can see not moved us forwards as a club, and with all the sales of the last few transfer windows I wonder now whether as a club we've now on a downward trajectory.
  4. I really don't like the fact we're now so open about what we do. NEVER show your jewels and crowns of the court to your competitors or enemies. We seem to be doing this too much at the moment and I'm concerned we'll lose our edge on other teams as others copy our model.
  5. He's sounding suddenly more interested.....maybe because Southampton may actually qualify for the Champions League!
  6. Check out this article: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-2905653/Premier-league-footballer-James-Ward-Prowse-helped-teenage-sister-cope-hair-loss-disease-alopecia.html
  7. What on earth is going on with Forren? Why did we even sign him?
  8. Why are we looking at players all already at their peak generally? Most of these players are past their mid-20's......lets develop the existing group with more great players with great potential. Otherwise we go back too easily to buying journeymen like we once did.
  9. Very good point! I'm concerned about 5 aspects: 1. Burnout of players 2. Injuries being now picked up with the new system 3. Players not being suitable 4. Lack of plan B or C 5. Running a high line defensively and playing the offside trap is a dangerous strategy?
  10. Coming. From the man who thought 17th would be good. Troll comes to mind?
  11. Well this should hopefully fit in perfectly with our "world class" radio station and catering.....oh wait....errr..
  12. There's no need for him to mention that his son started from Southampton. At the end of the day, he choose to bring up his son the southampton way, we sold him for good money, it's turning out to be a good move for him, and Southampton are continuing to do well.....
  13. Unfortunately he already blew his privileges to speak to authority on his terms a long time ago with his prior actions, however I doubt he can see that....disappointing he's learning these lessons as a twenty something and wasting his career away than when he was younger and the consequences were lesser. Sounds to me like a lot of us fans will now enjoy watching him rot in the reserves after seeing that "attitude" resurfacing again. Cortese is not an all forgiving man. To have standards, you must have boundaries....in a way....almost having Puncheon still at Saints more than earns his money for the club because it demonstrates the need for players to realise they don't hold all the cards in the modern day game.....I find it quite refreshing....
  14. Have to say I find the original post quite funny. It's amazing how aggressive threatened he feels by Southampton :-) .....I take it as quite the compliment!
  15. I'll happily have him at Saints! He's the extra striker we need and my preferred option in the championship.
  16. Errr....kind of illegal, but move to south africa and you'll be allowed :-)
  17. You're all forgetting 1 important thing. It's not the 'judean people's front' it's actually 'the people's front of judea!' oh and what if I want to be a woman?
  18. I like cortese. Can I be paid now?
  19. Cortese deserves far, FAR more praise than he gets. He's in my opinion been the single biggest factor of our success. He's ultimately the one that guides the ship, hiring Adkins, negotiating only the best transfer deals, putting professional standards into place from the top down. I believe people don't recognise the significance of this man and his positive influence in the football club. People say he's ruthless.....that's exactly what a strong leader needs to be at times. I respect and back his decisions 100%, the evidence is clear to back this up. It's really time we recognise his contribution to turning this great club around, because without him I highly doubt we'd be where we are.
  20. Adkins But wouldve been redknapp if we wanted short term success and could throw the dosh at him.
  21. We better sign Danns from Birmingham!
  22. Excited, all to win :-)
  23. Who ate all the pies?!
  24. For a change....I wouldn't complain if we DIDNT sign anyone. Why? Well we don't truly know our weaknesses and strengths until some of our players have been tested at the Championship level. I personally think we'll be very surprised. Some players who we thought would storm the league won't and others we thought in our squad as "average" will be better than we expect. Once we've had half a season in the Championship Adkins and Cortese will be much better informed where there's weaknesses in the squad. The problem we had in league 1 is a number of our players really weren't stretched at all.....so it's hard to spot our weaker areas until the players are really tested at the higher level.
  25. Jawillwill clearly joined Mensa at an early age ;-)
