-
you ignorant idiot, we were behind the front and as we turned off the dual carrage road they still hadnt finished exiting the park, you are a muppet, your wernt there and have no idea of how many people there was! it was a great day, the fans showed we can unite in our support for the good of the club and the team finally showed the fight and bottle we deserve!

OS Confirmed Michael Svennson - New Assistant Coach
kelkel31 replied to steadyeddie's topic in The Saints
killers is only being used as a political tool if he lets it happen its only propaganda if we let it be we talk about trying to regain the club, bring back the spirit of southampton, well for me this is one of the things i want to see, keeping people who have the club in the hearts close to the club. im not naive enough to say he will be a great coach, that his appointment will be a catalyst to changing the teams form, but why the hell are we slagging off(either by being used as a pawn or his lack of experience) one of the most respected members of the current set up! i for one will take this news on its own merits and as with the appointment of wotte as manager, for now will see how things pan out, and this in no way detracts from my beliefs that we need wholesale change in the management and structure of our club, and my involvement in any protest that may happen. -
Demonstration for Swansea game- Time and place!!

kelkel31 will be there(which means 2 of us), but please for the love of god lets make sure we do this legally and peacefully. we are doing this for the right reasons and dont want to screw it up by being overzelus or by allowing idiots to join in just to cause trouble! for my two cents, it should be to remove the entire board of directors, naming all along the way, not just lowe and wilde, with change will come the removal of jp, so lets stick to the board and as i havent seen this is also a boycott then lets get in the stadium, support the boys, get out and start all over again! -
The last thing we need now is for Jan to pull off a freak result
kelkel31 replied to Mr X's topic in The Saints
i understand the threads point, but we must win and we must not allow the result to allow the winds of change to fail in the long term objective of wholesale change in the management of our club!!!!!!!! -
the best form of protest is to turn up en mass for the next home, and not enter the ground at all. both those that are st holders and any other saints fan spare one afternoon to show the club and its creditors both that we have had enough of the current happenings by having an empty ground, but also showing that the clubs fan base are prepared to support the club trough thick and thin, but not any part of the current management. although its unlikely to happen, if even just the 15k supporters that would be at the game stood outside the stadium and sang throughout the game for the team, and against the management, before, half time and after, the reaction by the press and Barclay's would be monumental! we need to do this for the good of our club!!!!!11

if i had any indication that there would be an attendance of less than 7000 for a game or two due to a called mass boycott i would gladly throw my st at either jp or rl(should he ever have the balls to show up), but it wont happen, as although the tide is turning this club is still divided, as shown on the terraces today, and as much as i hate to say it without the removal of the entire board nothing will change, and if we did achieve that at the moment we have no viable replacement!(it really pains me to say this as i want them out so much it hurts, but nothing would provide anarchy!)

a lone striker will not be able to get in the box in the same way that a pair of players working together can, they have to rely on the wing players and supporting midfielders doing that for him as he is often pulled out of position looking for the ball and to link up play, we havent had the right wingers most of the season with holmes out and thus the idea breaks down. weve played alot of players in makeshift positions and although the faults are obvious, nothing has been done to change them on the training field or in a match. theres been too much time blaming the individuals for whats gone wrong with the team this year when they are being let down themselves by the coaching team. everyones can be a manager in the pub, forums and on our sofas, theres been alot of correct criticism on here where we spot faults with the teams play, but theres no point us seeing them if the people that count dont, or dont do anything when they do. theres alot of sympathy for jan with the supporters, but being dealt a bad hand, not getting the rub of the green but at some stage you have to start saying what has he done to change or improve things! i for one would like to see him spend less time in the technical area thinking, and more time pulling players over to the touchline and giving the advice, god knows sitting next to the dugout i know there are many little changes to a players positioning and awareness of where to look for players in space that would have gained us a hell of alot of points at home this season if he would just open his mouth, i dont think hes not good enough technically, i just think he hasnt got the character we need at the moment, for one why cant we get someone to attack the ****ING FAR POST!
-
conclusive proof that you can spin statistics any way you want, anyones whos seen a large amount of games will tell you that we have created very few good chances, our shots are mostly from outside the box, and almost exclusively outside the six yrd box!
-
youve spotted this and called it lazy, ive spooted this and stated its lack of confidence and too high expectation on him, the problem is has the manager spotted this at all and done anything to correct it, going by the way he handles match days the answer is no, and this is the problem with our young team, not having things that are wrong pointed out to them so that they can learn. it is true that his strike rate is maybe not quite good enough, but it is his first season as a starter, he will learn, the biggest reason for our lack of goals is down to the poor amount of movement along the front line, largely down to the fact that we often play with one up top, its now wonder we dont score much at home is it!

now slate the boy get in
-
as i understand it we have a very nice picture of a train in the boardroom already, probably do as good a job as RL, less cost and would be more popular too!
-
anything less than 7, puts us in a really bad place(because of the teams we play), thats not an expectation by any means, but for the sake of position and morale anything less would make this season critical!
-
ill give you a different perspective of why the ref was so poor, he blew his whistle for most fouls, the penalty and the red card before the offence was even completed, he looks to give teams like man utd every foul etc, he takes no time to say lets think about this, take account of the situation he just give it to the big boys. also how many times did he instruct his 'assistants(lol)' to change the direction of a throw in, i counted at least 2, what the hell are they there for?
-
ok then, i havent seen the replay, from my view at the game which was clear but from the other side of the pitch, it was no more than a yellow, but from what the people on here are say that it was a red, if two feet are off the ground and studs showing, does it matter that he also hit the player? its still dangerous hit or not! if this is your arguement then we would never of had a game at home this season where the game would have finished 11 v 11 !!! the refs job is to manage the game and its players, and he did this job poorly, you cant say that even the little decisions went to man utd wrongly. just seen the channel 4 news shots, penalty was a laugh as it hit the back of his shoulder not his elbow, as claimed by rilley! and the red card, he got 100% of the ball and it bounced through to the players leg, yes it could be a red but it is only give as such by poor bias refs, oh thats what we had. reading general comments on this thread, its nice to see a lot of you finally realize the problems we face on the pitch, shame your making yourself look like idiots for choosing this game considering the opposition, but welcome anyway

thats what i was going to say, admittedly with more humor and sarcasm must try harder! lol

i dont want to be personal, but thats a little nieve. i present one case without wanting to start a debate, why in the case of the girl in portuagul was it that instead calling for the heads of the parents whos choice it was to repeatedly leave there kids unattended in a foreign country to have a meal and drinks with friends, not call for the parents to be prosicuted for child neglect, because the media choose to present the case in a different light, and people bought it. you have to take everything that the media gives you and make your own mind up as to weather it is an accurate relflection of the facts, dont forget that all forms of media have owners, they have there own agenda(politacal allegence being a big one), and editors are the same, dont be easily fooled by what you see and read, for god sake have you seen our clubs website!

i havent read the whole thread, so may have missed this point being made somewhere in the middle, but points have been made about it being the law not to smoke in public buildings, and being a smoker i have aboded by this law, doesnt cause me too much of a problem, but one big deference in this case id that with most public buildings, even places where payment is made for entry you have the ability to both leave and re-enter thus being able to smoke out of the way whilst still be able to go about our normal lives. sms in the infinite wisdom will not allow you to re-enter the stadium if you leave, why? we dont need to be penned in and supervised we just want to go outside and return to see a game we have paid to see. do they have extra stewards before the game to supervise entry into the stadium in the first place, i dont think so, so why cant half of them be assigned to check people in and out at half time, its not as if we dont have some sort of ticket to prove we have paid to see the game is it!

Kelvin Davis - possibly one of the best 1on1 stoppers around, big improvement with high balls, still lacks the ability to command both his area or defense Lloyd James - good prospect, very good going forward able to produce good crosses from any part of the final third. Tackling often hit and miss, not scared to make the hard challenge but often late, positioning can also be poor but is the result of tactics and training! Oliver Lancashire - possibly the unluckiest defender around, very lightweigh and is a long way off being a championship first teamer Jack Cork - superb tackler, great engine, good dribbler and solid passer, lets himself down with his headers and as such is not a center back, holding midfielder for the future Skacel - we all know he has the quality, and shows it in patches, has been solid enough at lb but is the only player in the squad to have the guile to trick opponents or the ref, needs to be played in a more prominent position, but is he reliable enough? Chris Perry - age is against him, and would be the perfect foil for a young good defender like andrew davies, oh sorry we got rid of him! Alex Pearce - when hes good hes very good, and when hes bad hes a liability, got everything he needs in him, and thats why hes with us and not with reading Joseph Mills - very much like james has been let down by tactical training, got good potential but is very much like a headless chicken with his enthusiasm, could be a full back for the future Jake Thomson - much like dyer, very fast, can dribble and crosses but lacks the balls to go past a player, often seen looking to the sideline for guidance, of which none has come! Jason Euell - has improved so much since his first 10 games but age and doesnt help him. one of the most motivated players in the team but has always had a poor touch, in the current set up best to be played as target man on the front line Lee Holmes - biggest plus from the season, and has been sorely missed, speed, dribbles, crosses, shoots and energy, gives the team the balance it needs in the left side of the attacking play, just need someone in the center and the right! Andrew Surman - can take the game by the scruff of the neck if given the chance, put him in a good team in this division and could be the player of the season, but is his head with us? Simon Gillett - his combination in the first months of the season with morgan was superb, but injury's between the has spoiled this, tenacious in the tackle, great link play with the ball, never a star but could be important in the right set up. Morgan Schneiderlin - this kid IS the real deal, one of the best long range passers ive every seen at the club, passes the ball accurately over 5 or 60 yrds, and hes got the football brain to go with it, 18yrs old and he wants to control the pace of any game. Oscar Gobern - changed one game, away from home which few people saw, and has failed to show us why he did it, judgment has to be out on this one. Adam Lallana - amazing with the ball at his feet, ball retention is first class, but often holds onto the ball too long, really cant shoot and all too often has no end product. not his fault really, we dont have a team to accommodate him or use his ability's well, needs o free role and players to work off him Bradley Wright-Phillips - he plays like he plays in the shadow of both his dad and his brother. got the skills but all too often panics and makes the wrong decision, confidence player the all too often lacks confidence. David McGoldrick - i feel really sorry for this guy, he has the weight of the whole clubs expectations on his shoulders, and struggles with it, he can shoot, run with the ball go past players, he has the ability to change a game in an instant, but he is not a lone striker, he gets lost and the season so far is taking its toll on his mental strength.he needs to be dropped at the moment, then given a big partner, the service they need and this guy WILL score a lot of goals! Jordan Robertson - wants to be a target man, but isnt tall enough, can hold up the ball but is often issolated and therefore in effective. given the right team and style of play he could be successful, this is not the right team! Matthew Paterson - all too much like bret olmerod, he hustles the ball well and given the right service in behind the defense will probably score a few goals, but we dont get the ball in behind the defense either from wide areas or through the middle so has been very ineffective. Tomas Pekhart - another player i feel sorry for, i get the impression he is a goal poacher, but lack of opportunities and over enthusiastic desire to do well just gets lost in the game. a bit more strength training could be a good target man as well,. but needs support both with players and coaching.

its big spin really, the wages would have been generated in the playoff season, when average attendances were closer to 25k, and therefore would not have been anywhere near 81% at that time. its only due to the team failing to produce that kind of form, and the attendances drastically lowering that would generate the 81% of turnover. if anyone could have predicted that after the playoff we would not have continued to overacheive then we wouldnt be in this mess in the first place.

i think i get what you are saying(not very clear) if you take that lowes shareholding is relatively small, nowhere near enough to control the club on his own, and that despite the way he has managed this club, he is not stupid, any further shares issued if not taken up by his cronies dilutes his position, something he will not allow to happen. so if shares we issued without restrictions im pretty sure he and his lackeys will buy a large proportion of them, they are control freaks!
-
i for one would support a rights issue that excluded any current member of the board, if it was open to them it would only further strengthen there toxic stranglehold on the club. exclude them and allow real fans to buy into the club and have a say that isnt based around protecting there own assets!
-
how about we find some way to get rid of pretty much all the current directors of the club and give it 5 games, if the crowds dont go up 5-7k, then those of us that say that people are staying away because of lowe will say we were wrong and apologize. at least we would have got rid of the current failing idiots!
-
im not sure we are helping ourselves by playing both surman and lallana at the moment. surman has been a revilation since hes been let loose on the midfield area and someone else covering him which leaves it difficult to leave him out. but lallana is not a right midfielder and is possibly better off of two strikers with his vision and ability to retain the ball and link play. but this would leave us weeker at the back as beleive it or not we are trying to play with two wingers(we dont have any fit at the moment which is a problem), combined with the total football ethic we lack a bit of structure to our forward play. so what do we do, leave out one of our two best players or fit them in somehow, the joys of managment i guess but if one to leave in the window it might not be a bad thing, loose both and we have a big problem!

over engineering the buildup, scared or clueless?
kelkel31 replied to lordswoodsaints's topic in The Saints
i think this is down to the way the players are taught to play the game. the ethos is to pass and move, keep the ball moving which to be honest they do very well most of the time. the biggest problem is our strikers, it there movement that should change the approach from pass and move to a player taking it upon himself to play that defense splitting pass. there no point in that pass being made if the striker is not already in motion and expecting the ball. the commentary today complained bout the moves involving 5 - 6 intricate passes around the outside of the box without any penetration and id add to that the players turn away from goal too much, but if nobody is showing the run into the box, splitting the defenders then how can we play the ball into dangerous areas. this part of the game requires experience or a player with a top class football brain(which you are unlikely to see at this level). jans biggest problem is he doesnt coach during the game, which is when you actually have a chance to Analise the opponents and exploit there weaknesses, and something he personally needs to change. as im making my personal critic on the style of play can someone tell me when we are controlling the ball on the wide edge of the opposing area when cant the fall back push up the field so that hes in a position to both attack the far post and get back if the move breaks down, we would be just outside the promotion places if we attacked the far post every time it goes there and no player of ours is around, which is a hell of alot(heres hoping the players and coaches really do read this forum)
