"If we sign Dave Astori, it's enough to make your heart go oooh...":p
-
That was a chance for Rodriguez to show he is a Premier League striker. He didn't take it unfortunately. Fortunately for him the ball fell to Guly immediately afterwards and he missed. So all the num nuts and JCLs can rant down the pub and talk b0lloks as usual.
-
Am I getting ahead of myself here? Song suggestion "When the ball hits the goal its not Shearer or Cole, it's Astori"
-
He's gonna get better and better, the quality is there for most to see. People should give him some time to settle in English football, it took Bergkamp a while but he wasn't a bad player in the end.

An interesting read, thankyou.

One of our group goes down on 36 mins. Gets the beers in then the rest of us come down after the whistle and the beers are ready. Makes sense surely?

Played for schoolboys around '87/88. Good links with Saints, trained in gym under West Stand on Tuesday's (used to bump into Madman John Burridge, the training fanatic, doing extra work lol). Played George Reader invitational Trophy at Dell, beat Watford 3-1. We beat Bournemouth with Jamie Redknapp in their side, 3-2 for the Wright Cup (Southern Cup). Aways at Arsenal and Manor Ground Oxford also highlights. My main claim to fame is played, supported, and reported at Dell (worked for Sun for 20 yrs).

Training Ground Development - "temporarily suspended"
CityRanger replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Wow! Just read the last couple of pages. This is one seriously dull thread... -
No Ward-Prowse in the U'19's or U'21's. Did he disgrace himself on Under 19 duty? Or is he about to be picked for the England Senior Squad? Not entirely linked to this thread but I can't start a new one! Or maybe someone knows a reason, is he injured?

I think he comes into the 'one for the future' bracket in a way. Ricky is in his 30's and the club probably think Jay Rod can lead the line for us in the future. He'll learn the ropes this year and as long as he gets 7 or 8 goals his value won't really drop yet.

Really??

Looked better when he dropped a little deeper second half. Absolutely agree with FF, he looks so comfortable on the ball. He was rolling them into the other players with such a lovely weight on the ball we were loving it. Going to love watching this player this season.

Absolutely love this post. The Great Escape starts now! We need the old Dell atmosphere back.

Saints 3 Man U 2. Rodriguez winner 97 minutes lol.

So they'd have the same lot if they were league one? Thats *******s!
-
I don't understand why we're fawning over United fans so much. They're a bunch of c*nts who fakin loved it when we went down. And lets face it, 75 per cent of them wouldn't be there if they weren't winning every week. It makes it a lot easier to be "funny and original" if you've got a couple of hundred million pounds of talent on the pitch.

After the rejection of the Zion reopen the hunt for Del Piero. Celtic is always pressing, want a gift for the qualification in the Champions League. Meanwhile back to the office Southampton, still interested. For Southampton has just signed Gaston Ramirez. The Uruguayan and Del Piero could be teammates ... from Twitter:Gianluca Di Marzio 5 mins ago

If so then the Wigan result could turn out to be a blessing in disguise?

http://www.gianlucadimarzio.com/calciomercato/ramirez-il-southampton-ora-e-vicinissimo/ A sudden turn, probably decisive. Agent Ramirez, Pablo Betancourt, was in England. He convinced the president of the Southampton to pay 14 million for 70% of the card of the player. Thus giving up commissions to agents just to close the deal. The deal is not yet closed, there are still details. The Penarol must accept that 30% of the card is paid from Southampton. It is 5% for those who formed the player. Expect only the cards and guarantees, but this time just missing. Ramirez is outside the EU, they need a work permit to play in England. That's why his agent tomorrow will be in Rome for the visa, between Thursday and Friday will be in England. To close the Southampton may be the right time ...

A breakthrough at last? @tancredipalmeri: According to journalist @dimarziotweet , Ramirez deal almost done with Southampton:his agent persuaded Saints to accept Bologna conditions

Top 3 most mental goal celebrations at a Saints Game
CityRanger replied to JackanorySFC's topic in The Saints
I was in the Archers last game of the 98/99 season for these 2 beauties from Pahars which kept us up. The roof nearly came off for each goal! (3mins 15 and 6mins 45) -
Haha me too! No, it's not.

As I posted on page 8. "Sentimental rubbish" was just one of the negative replies this post received.
