A welcoming song with apologies to Radiohead... You float like a feather And score great goals And I wish I was special You're so f-in special But I'm a Saint, and you are Guido It's so great to have you here You f-in belong here

According to this website http://www.sportsclubstats.com/England/Southampton.html we have a 0.0000287% chance of being relegated. Well I suppose if Leicester can win the PL...

We probably need a few points against the big teams if we want to finish 8th. 5 of our last 8 are at home but 5 of the 8 are against top teams. I've currently got us pencilled in for 51 points... 15 Apr Southampton v Manchester City = 0 25 Apr Chelsea v Southampton = 0 29 Apr Southampton v Hull City = 3 7 May Liverpool v Southampton = 1 13 May Middlesbrough v Southampton = 3 21 May Southampton v Stoke City = 3 TBA Southampton v Arsenal = 1 TBA Southampton v Manchester Utd = 0

Saints V Man United - EFL Cup Final Match Thread

Gabba Gabba Yay! -
I like the suggestion to simply chant (The Ramones) "Gabba Gabba Hey!", but for something more melodic it probably should be a Barry Manilow song ... Gabbi we love you come, come, come into our ground Let us see some wonderful goals from you Gabbi we want you, now, now, now and score one fast Could this be the magic at last? (much better than the Take That version)

We'll win 1-0

I'm hoping for a glorious late winner such as Super Ken's in 1994 and Henri Camara's in 2005.

Like the James Blunt one. Using the same soundalike I think the chorus of the Van Halen classic Beautiful Girls might work... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ew1EUn-qRhw Here we are, we're on top of the world All we need is a Boufal goal

This one is a tad optimistic.... We're heading for Solna (Solna) And still we stand tall 'Cause we score the goals ya And we're good on the ball With so many tough games we'll show We can't lose at our ground (at our ground) We're sure that our boys are raring to go It's the final countdown... The final…

I thought we might sing My Sweet Claude by George Harrison if he does well ...

Morgan on for Rooney - 88th minute

Hmm, yeah, could make a very strong Saints / Ex-Saints Euro 2016 team (albeit with a rather thin bench). I've gone for a 4-3-3 ... GK: Forster LB: Bertrand CB: Alderweireld CB: Fonte RB: Clyne LM: Davis CM: Schneiderlin RM: Lallana LF: Bale CF: Pelle RF: Long Subs: Boruc, Baird, Soares

I quite like Flores, second choice Giggs as we can all wear chest wigs at the first home game as a gesture of support :-0

Is Glenn Hoddle still available or has he been reincarnated as a bacterium?

Well done James (and Matt and Jack)... http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36410296

The title of this thread made me think of T.Rex's Metal Guru.... Ollie Giroud, scores a few (yeah yeah yeah) Ollie Giroud, scores a few (yeah yeah) We don't care when he has a mare (oh yeah) [repeat ad nauseum]

Post-Match Reaction: SAINTS 4-1 Crystal Palace
John Cool replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
I've just drunk a pint of Carlsberg :-) -
According to this site http://www.sportsclubstats.com/England/Premier.html we now have a 45% chance of 7th or higher. As well as needing Liverpool to drop points, it looks like Crystal Palace's form will also be key - we need them to lose to us in the league and Man U in the cup final. Of course away to Spuds won't be easy even with the title blown.
-
I just had a go with the Grimsby Town predictor http://www.thefishy.co.uk/calculator0.php?Competition=1 and we finished 8th (not far behind Liverpool though).
-
If Norwich lose to both Newcastle and Sunderland then it is possible for both the victors to finish above Saints. So there might still be a very slim chance of relegation. On the plus side, according to this website http://www.sportsclubstats.com/England/Premier.html if we beat Leicester our chances of top 4 go from 1% to 4%.

Four million pounds is approximately 6 million dollars. Made me think of an old TV show about a guy called Austin with injury problems...
