Don't be naive . It is a forum for the chosen few to offer their views and for the rest of us to agree or keep quiet. If you are not one of the chosen few then just toe the line OK?

So they want wages and medals from where? Asia? South America? What level is that? I tried to Google 'Level 3' and got no relevant hits. Where can I find the definitive list of 'levels'?

2 days ago I was getting redirects to other (questionable) sites. It was driving me crazy. Then I started to get an ad in a small frame on the page playing a video with loud audio. Unfortunately the frame was smaller than the actual ad so there was no way to stop it. In the end I disabled flash for the site and all is ok(ish).

Your first Saints manager appointment and preference?
ThaiSaint replied to Bad Wolf's topic in The Saints
Ted Bates became Manager 1 month before I was born so the first 'appointment' I saw was Laurie McMenemy who became Manager in November 1973, having been appointed Assistant Manager to Ted 4 months earlier. 24 Managers later and we still haven't had a manager with the loyalty that Ted had and people forget that Saints qualified for Europe twice (1969/1971) under his stewardship - long before Koeman's arrival. He also stayed a little longer.... -
We've always had a problem keeping hold of our best players and it goes back long before the Lowe/Wilde days. In my Saints supporting life we have regularly had an uphill battle trying to keep players who were ambitious and coveted by other clubs. In 1968 a local lad called Martin Chivers attracted the attention of the big boys and he went to Spurs for a (then English record) fee of £125,000. He was followed by others subsequently (before the Lowe years) including: Danny Walace Mark Wright Alan Shearer Tim Flowers Jeff Kenna There were probably others over those years and I guess still more before my time... Until we are regularly challenging for titles / cups and are playing in Europe most years I can't see this changing.
-
And we sold Martin Chivers too cheaply....

you just did... -
Ahh - no. Where you asking me? Or was it justa general question...
-
Thanks for that. I only speak Thai and English and didn't realise that people could use other languages here...
-
What does that mean in English?????????
-
Easy win and what?
-
Win. Top 3 - we are there. Bed wetters repent. We should fear no one. We are Southampton.
-
So what? We are only interested in top 3 teams...

Seems that Ron has some inside knowledge about Pellè? Looking forward to him being announced as part of the Italian squad. It would maybe make a few sit up and realise that playing for Saints puts you centre stage for an international call up.

Fine Port wine surely? -
I think the real issue is the lack of faith in the people doing the signing. There were so many posts about how Les Reed was a total waste of space and 'why haven't we signed xxxx yet'. People panicking and claiming that Kat was going to walk away with the money. Others complaining about the players we did sign. All of you who made such accusations should apologise and accept that you were wrong. All of this pussy footing around trying to justify those (mistaken) opinions doesn't detract from the fact that YOU WERE WRONG. Admit it, accept it, move on.

Don't you just love how we push? Both of our full backs were pushing whenever they could. Bertrand was quiet in the first half but he got himself in the right place for the first goal. Great to see!
-
A good win. We dominated the game but you always worry when that happens but we are not winning. Austin scored a great goal out of the blue but then Pelle scored an even better one. Good times. Ad Infinitum I hope..... please.

An interesting piece from Sarah Winterburn sums it up at http://www.football365.com/f365-says/9485016/here;

I remember last season when we started really well and after a few games we got a lot of press coverage about conceding fewer goals than any other Premiership team (and all but one European teams). Since then we've had the mass exodus of many key players but we seem to have replaced those players very well. RK was a great defender and knows a thing or two about defending. Can we keep this up?
